She didn’t wait for Lin Tian to respond and turned to go upstairs, leaving only the soft sounds of the sisters’ conversation behind.

"Sister, where are we going? I want to come too," Second Miss cooed.

Lin Tian was left alone, brooding. Just when he had praised her for becoming gentle, she had reverted to her usual self.

Xiao Manxuan was about to speak but they had reached the classroom, and she chose to remain silent. Inside, students were studying, boasting, or doing other activities; the atmosphere was lively, none of the pre-examination gloom, making Lin Tian wonder if he had entered the wrong classroom.

"Hey, Zhang Lingyu, good morning," Lin Tian dropped his bag and waved to Zhang Lingyu sitting next to him.

This little girl was so close with Xiao Manxuan, yet she didn’t come over to hang out during the weekend, as if she’d disappeared as soon as school was out, leaving him clueless as to what she was up to.

Zhang Lingyu kept reading her book, but said, "Xikou City has been rather restless recently, you always like to attract trouble, I’d advise you to keep a low profile."
