Chapter 183: Chapter 182: Reduced to Ashes

"You’re wrong again, death isn’t scary, it’s how you die that’s terrifying," Lin Tian shook his head with a cryptic smile.

"Hmph..." the lead robber snorted coldly, unconvinced that death could do much, a severed head is just a big scar—what more could happen, spirits scattering?

"Hehe, come on, let’s experience the height of this five-star hotel’s hundred-meter building," Lin Tian chuckled and grabbed the hand of the lead robber, running toward the edge railing.

In his stunned state, Lin Tian suddenly leaped outward, baffling the robber. Considering the hundred-meter height here, falling would indeed be horrifying, and the robber couldn’t fathom why the young man would jump.

But a few seconds later, he no longer had time to think it through, as his hand was still gripped by Lin Tian. After Lin Tian jumped out, he fell straight down, pulling the robber along.

"Damn, you maniac, what are you trying to do? If you want to jump, don’t drag me into it!" the robber yelled, his body pressing tightly against the railing to avoid being pulled down by Lin Tian.

However, Lin Tian wouldn’t let go. He just gripped his wrist, hanging off the side of the building. Given Lin Tian’s body weight and height, he must weigh around 140 pounds. The robber’s right hand was weighed down by over a hundred pounds, and he also had to prevent being pulled out, a pain unimaginable.

The robber exerted all his strength, barely keeping himself from falling out, but the tearing pain in his right hand made him gasp for air, his face turning the color of a liver.

"Brother, having fun?" Lin Tian showed no fear, dangling leisurely, and even striking up a conversation with a smile.

"Fun... fun my ass, it hurts... it’s killing me, just pull yourself up," the lead robber gasped between words, wishing he could kick Lin Tian down.

"Ah, it’s a dark and breezy night, why would I want to go up?" Lin Tian looked up, took a deep breath, and said blissfully.

The robber, left with no other choice, tried to reach out with his left hand to pry Lin Tian’s fingers loose, thinking if you don’t want to come up, I’ll make you go down. But just as he leaned down, he overlooked his precarious situation, and loosening his grip slightly, he slid outward a bit, frightening him into quickly lowering his center of gravity to stop the outward fall.

"Ouch, trying to make me fall? Seems I’ll have to give you a taste of swinging." Lin Tian sinisterly smirked, then added, "But, you’re the swing, I’m the swinger, I spit, you’re the one who’s loose!"

Lin Tian felt it was inappropriate to call himself ’loose,’ quickly corrected himself, and his feet, not resting, gently rubbed against the hotel’s outer wall, causing him to swing gently back and forth like a pendulum.

"Hehe... let go, hurry up and let go, I can’t take this anymore," the lead robber, in pain, made raspy noises before finally being able to utter these words.

Already suffering from being weighed down by over a hundred pounds, now swinging back and forth was simply too much to bear.

"Swinging... swinging, you’re so loose," Lin Tian drew out his words, stopping only when he felt it was enough.

"You’re a madman. Whatever you want to know, I’ll tell you, just come up," the lead robber couldn’t take the torment any longer and finally gave in.

The quick submission of the robber didn’t surprise Lin Tian, for he knew that often death isn’t what’s frightening; it’s the process of dying. Caught between life and death, it was horrifically vivid, something he had once experienced.

A gunshot would have killed the robber and he probably wouldn’t have even flinched, as that kind of death is swift, merely a matter of a few breaths, but at this moment, he was constantly facing the fear of falling and the severe pain in his hand.

People can talk tough because anyone can say harsh words, and they don’t have to pay taxes to do so. But when actually facing such extreme situations, few can handle it.

"Don’t rush, what organization are you from?" Lin Tian asked.

"A hitman organization..." The robber started to answer but was glared at by Lin Tian. With such level, he hardly looked like a hitman.

He corrected himself and said, "This hitman organization, apart from the core members, is very loosely managed. It’s only responsible for issuing missions. Whether you are a mercenary or a lone hitman, anyone can take on their missions. I am only part of the periphery, um, a small peripheral team. We’re not sure if the mission was published by them, but that’s what the other party claimed."

Yet another hitman organization, but Lin Tian didn’t care. He had killed vampires before, so he wasn’t afraid of a hitman organization. If that were the case, it would be impossible to know who issued the mission. Such organizations would definitely not reveal the issuer’s information.

"You don’t need to ask anymore. We also don’t know who issued the mission. Judging from the accent, it sounds like the Japanese. Also, before we came, we met someone who reminded us to bring an oxygen cutting torch, or else the operation would fail," the robber confessed, unable to hold back, and blurted out even what Lin Tian hadn’t asked.

"Oh, the Japanese again! What’s the name of the other person who is so familiar with transporting valuable goods?" Lin Tian’s interest was piqued and he directly asked.

The robber hesitated before saying, "I’m not sure, it was all too rushed. To be safe, I left a brother to watch over him. I think others referred to him as Mr. Bai."

Mr. Bai? Lin Tian was right to guess. No need to think about it—it definitely had to be someone from the Bai Family, involved in such dirty work again. Last time, the Bai Family had sold information to the Japanese, and this time, they provided information to the robbers. The Bai Family was truly ruthless.

"Is there anything else you haven’t mentioned?" Lin Tian asked lastly. The robber knew not much more, whether the Japanese were posing as a hitman organization to hire robbers to steal jade, or it was genuinely someone issuing the mission, they had no idea.

"That’s all I know. Please, just end it quickly," the robber felt that if the questioning continued, his arm might be torn off.

He also knew that since he had seen Lin Tian’s true identity, he had no chance of surviving and only hoped for a swift death.

"Quite aware, huh? Knowing my identity as a zombie, I can’t keep you alive. Considering you’ve divulged all you knew, I’ll grant you a quick end." Lin Tian reached out to grab the building facade and with a strong pull, the robber immediately flew out.

In the instant the robber was falling, Lin Tian punched him in the heart, the fierce force directly shattering his heart vessels. The robber’s eyes widened, but his breathing suddenly stopped, leaving no sign of life.

"Rossi, make him disappear," Lin Tian climbed over the railing, watching the rapidly falling body and said.

The bat-transformed Rossi had already arrived at the rooftop. He swooped down, flew past the body engulfing it in a puff of black smoke. As the night wind blew, the black smoke dispersed, and the body dissipated, turning the robber to ash.

"Rossi, that move of yours is like vanishing into thin air, such an impressive skill. Why didn’t I see you use it last time?" Lin Tian stood in the night breeze, looking at Rossi who had returned to human form beside him, curiously asked.

"In response to Brother Tian, this move is called ’Corpse Decay.’ It’s useless on living beings, only effective on corpses," Rossi earnestly replied.

"That’s already pretty impressive. Put away those pistols and daggers. Tomorrow I’ll take a private plane back to Xikou City. You take a flight to Xikou City and find me there," Lin Tian ordered, already heading down the stairway, leaving Rossi alone on the rooftop, staring at the full moon, lost in thought.
