Zombie Bodyguard -
Chapter 182 - 181: Not Afraid of Zombies?
Chapter 182: Chapter 181: Not Afraid of Zombies?
"Fuck, who the hell are you trying to scare? Do you think we’re shooting a movie? Pretending to be a vampire sucking blood, fellas, get him, beat the shit out of him, daring to scare people in the dead of night." The robber boss’s eyes had adapted to the darkness, and with the faint light from the entrance, he could vaguely see Lin Tian’s bloodsucking figure. He wasn’t scared; instead, he thought Lin Tian was trying to spook them, waving his hand for his underlings to come and beat someone up.
Lin Tian was also stunned by the robber boss’s foolish bravery. In this day and age, no one really believes the truth anymore; instead, they’re easily convinced by fake goods and lies.
Damn it, the zombie isn’t showing off his power, you think I’m a sick cat? Lin Tian picked up another person and sank his teeth in, inhaling the blood during breaths and forcefully tossed the two corpses toward the charging robbers.
The throw was powerful; seven charging robbers were knocked down by the two bodies, five of them falling to the ground groaning, struggling to get up. The other two, fortunate enough not to be hit, realized Lin Tian was no easy target, and reached behind to pull out a sharp dagger.
The robbers were not simple at all. Lin Tian recognized their daggers as genuine goods. Lin Tian had learned about various military knives and daggers after he’d been unexpectedly attacked by a dagger from Xiao Manxue during a fight. What’s considered genuine goods? Those made for killing, not for decoration or collection.
Lin Tian recognized the dagger used by the robbers as a new type of tactical double-edged knife, the Hell’s Guard Dog. The Hell’s Guard Dog, originating from ancient Norse mythology, lives up to its name, which indicated its lethality.
It was made from VG-10 high-grade steel, its blade exceptionally strong with superior edge retention. Because of its extreme sharpness, it was used for killing, not as a wilderness survival tool.
The new Hell’s Guard Dog double-edged knife would have a black Teflon coating to eliminate reflection. However, the coating on the robbers’ daggers was clearly worn away, and the matte finish didn’t reflect light, indicating that they had been used to kill numerous people.
Who on earth were they? Ordinary thugs couldn’t get their hands on such genuine goods; the usual petty criminals would be wielding watermelon knives in a fight, while these daggers were meant specifically for killing.
While Lin Tian was distracted by his thoughts, his reflexes didn’t slow down. He extended his hands, and when the daggers were mere centimeters from his neck, he forcefully gripped both men’s wrists. Lin Tian’s grip was too much for the robbers to bear; their wrist bones were crushed instantly, causing them to sweat profusely and soak through the black stockings on their heads with perspiration.
"You’d better let them go," the robber boss said threateningly, holding a pistol to Lin Tian’s head.
Not just that, but the two previously on guard at the elevator entrance also ran over, holding guns as well, their dark muzzles aimed at Lin Tian as if ready to shoot at any disagreement.
"Alright, I’ll let them go," Lin Tian said, hurling the two robbers upwards. They crashed hard against the concrete ceiling of the parking garage, reflected off, and then fell down with a "smack smack," landing heavily on the ground.
The two robbers didn’t even have a chance to struggle before they were dead. They had taken lives before, and now it was their turn to be killed. It all comes back eventually when you live a life of crime, and as it happened, Lin Tian was their executioner.
"Fuck, you’re seeking death," the boss said furiously, pulling the trigger of the gun.
The pistol was fitted with a silencer, so the sound of the shot wasn’t loud. Not only did he fire, but the other two didn’t hesitate to shoot as well.
Hmph, they sure are ruthless. Lin Tian snorted with a cold smile; the bullets were clearly aimed at his head, neck, and heart. The robbers weren’t thinking of just injuring by shooting the legs; they intended to kill with a single shot.
Lin Tian didn’t move a foot, nor did he dodge; he wasn’t about to let them ruin his clothes again. His hands moved in unison, so fast that they created a flurry of shadows— to an outsider, it would look like the Thousand-armed Guanyin.
The shadow receded, and Lin Tian was still standing in his original spot, unaffected. His clothes were intact, and there was no trace of a blow on his head. He spread his fingers to reveal three deformed bullets lying in the palms of his hands, which were still emitting the high temperature from the friction of being fired.
"You... you..." The robber couldn’t utter a complete sentence.
In everyone’s mind, there was the thought that no flesh and blood could withstand the power of firearms, yet it was happening right before their eyes. Not only did he block the bullets, he easily caught them in insufficient light.
This meant that what he said about zombie teeth and sucking blood was true. They really were facing a zombie, which was the only thought in the robbers’ minds at that moment.
"Rossi, I leave it to you. Keep the leader, kill the rest," Lin Tian spoke into the darkness.
The robbers were bewildered, not knowing to whom Lin Tian was speaking. But before they could understand, the darkness suddenly lit up with small red lights that moved rapidly towards them. Two robbers who were watching the elevator and one who was half-sitting on the ground didn’t have time to react. They only felt a numbness on their necks before they fell down, never to regain consciousness.
Rossi, in the form of a black bat, flew above Lin Tian’s head, silent and unseen. The robbers could only see two red lights, the size of beans, moving back and forth in the darkness—those were Rossi’s blood-red bat eyes!
"I’ll take you with me," declared the robber in a desperate act, provoked by extreme fear and letting loose the brutality within him as he pulled the trigger.
But the gun wasn’t aimed at Lin Tian; it was pointed at the oxygen acetylene tanks on the ground. Knowing bullets were useless, the thought came to him that zombies were afraid of fire. If he could set off the tanks, the instant blaze would be able to soften metal.
Of course, he would die as well, but those who live by the sword die by the sword. Besides, taking a zombie down with him would give him a story to boast about to his brothers in the afterlife.
"In front of me, you think you can die? Do you think you’re a professional ninja, even dying so professionally?" Lin Tian scoffed with disdain, his figure flickered, and he bizarrely appeared in front of the gun barrel, catching all the bullets fired.
"What do you want?" The lead robber still spoke with bravado, but his legs were already beginning to go weak.
"I don’t want anything particular, just taking you out for some air," Lin Tian said as he snatched the handgun away from him, casually tossed it on the ground, and grabbed the robber to flash out of there, leaving Rossi with a message, "Clean up the scene, leave no trace."
Lin Tian moved swiftly. After a gust of wind, they arrived at the back of the hotel, with Lin Tian holding the robber and leaping upwards, multiple floors at a time. In a dozen jumps, they reached the top of the hotel.
Once there, he specially used his x-ray vision to see how Rossi was handling the clean-up. He saw Rossi exhaling black mist that enveloped the bodies, which soon decayed into ash without leaving any trace. Vampires indeed had their unique methods.
"Alright, finally your turn. Who sent you here?" Lin Tian dropped the lead robber and asked. It was unusual for a robbery at Heavenly Flower to be equipped with oxygen cutting torches, someone must have tipped them off beforehand, otherwise who would bring such cumbersome equipment for a robbery.
By this time, the robber’s legs were too weak to stand, but his mouth remained defiant. With a lone wolf’s defiance, he said, "Either way, it’s death. Don’t waste your breath."
