Wife of The Demon Prince
Chapter 43: I’d give you the whole world

Chapter 43: I’d give you the whole world

Ara glanced down at the Prince who didn’t bother to move even when he heard the sound of the door, he lay there with his sliver hair packed in a ponytail, he looked more handsome with his hair like that. Ara cleared her throat to get his attention. Hamon slowly opened his eyes then turned towards her direction, their eyes locked together. Ara noticed his red irises glowing faintly in the gloom as he scanned her from up to down then looked up to her eyes again, his gaze intensely deep boring through her like a hungry predator facing it’s prey.

The small room fell silent as their eyes locked. Suddenly, the door swung shut behind her, Ara’s head was quick to turn reflexively towards the door.

Hamon sat properly on the seats to make space for her, then remarked, "How was the short trip here, I hope no one saw your face?" He asked with his brows raised.

Without bothering to sit Ara thought he was genuinely concerned that people had seen her which might cause a scandal for her, she replied, "The guards did their job well, no one saw me."

"It’s good no other man saw your face." She could clearly sense how pleased he was from his tone.

"What do you mean by that?" Ara asked with a confused expression.

Hamon chuckled, "I mean if they by any chance glanced at my beautiful wife to be...I’d gouge out the eyes of the men who looked your way..." Hamon paused to admire her beautiful features, and when he saw her confused expression, he asked"Why on earth did you think I asked my guards to cover you up?"

At his question Ara looked more confused, "Because you don’t want people to know about our relationship until the grand ball?" She asked unsure.

Hamon’s lips pulled up in a smirk, "Why would I do that? I only asked my men to cover you because I saw there were a lot of men outside. I don’t want them putting their sinful eyes on my innocent future wife."

Ara’s face flushed at his words, "Your joke is quite extreme..."

Hamon grinned at how red she turned at his words. He patted the space beside him, "Here, sit down."

Ara glanced at his grinning face suspiciously. She had come this far and couldn’t turn back now, she hesitantly sat next to him but couldn’t shake off her unsettled feelings. She then heard him say,

"I really don’t know about you, but I’ve never been to a place like this...I only like the battlefield."

"Then why did you choose to meet here?" She asked.

"Because I wanted to go on a date with you before our marriage." He remarked as he rested his back on the seat, his words made Ara feel a bit bewildered, but then she decided to just change the subject by asking,

"Ahem, Did you ...lend this box from someone you know?" Ara asked because of how expensive it was, Hamon’s reply was, "No." Then he turned to her with a frown on his face, "Do you dislike the box? Do you want me to change it, you can tell me what you want and I’ll ask the staff member to change it."

When Ara saw he was about to stand up, she hurried to say, "No, No...I don’t dislike it, it’s alright I like it." Ara did not dislike the seats, but the problem was how much they cost, she couldn’t pretend it didn’t bother her, she heard him say,

"I’m glad you liked it then."

Hamon had done all of it for her, he wasn’t the type to come to places like these. He had heard from Merek about her stolen dress, which was why he wanted to cheer her up by bringing her to the theater. He had thought she disliked the box, he would have gotten another one for her had she just said the word, hell, he’d even purchase the whole theater if she wanted it.

Ara on the other hand was still surprised that he would get another box just like that, it would cost a lot even for a crown Prince, because he couldn’t freely reach into the kingdom coffers unless he becomes king. Not just that, Hamon had no social influence in the kingdom, and it hadn’t been long since he came back from the battlefield. Where he got such huge sum of money from was questionable, she couldn’t even understand why he spent so much money just to meet her. If Hamon wants to become king, he needs to learn how to save for the future.

"You shouldn’t spend too much money on useless things like these again." Ara Stated seriously. She felt like if he was too reckless, then she should at least be practical.

"I’m a man of high taste, you should get used to it." He remarked with a deadpanned expression.

"It doesn’t matter if your tastes are high, you shoul-"

"Aren’t you the one who said you don’t want people to see us together before the grand ball?" Hamon asked with his eyes narrowed at her.

"..."

When she didn’t reply he continued, "These seats are the only way people won’t see us."

"But..."

There was nothing wrong with what Hamon said, so she closed her mouth to not comment again.

At Ara’s bewildered expression, Hamon’s tone turned smooth, "There’s a lot you don’t know."

Ara glanced up to meet his red burning eyes, she was about to ask him what he meant, but she heard him say with his deep husky voice, "Whenever I see those green eyes of yours...I just want to give you the whole world." His expression was soft as he said those words.

She couldn’t look away from his gaze, it was as if she had be ensnared. ’He’s just a Casanova Prince, his words were for every woman!’ Ara told herself as she looked away from his gaze, then cleared her throat to say,

"I appreciate your kind words, but please don’t spend this much on our future meetings again." How could she just watch him continue squandering so much?
