Wife of The Demon Prince
Chapter 338: The red eyed man

Chapter 338: The red eyed man

The man glanced towards the direction of the voice with a displeased look. It seemed like a lot of people don’t want him to get on with his business tonight. First it was this little girl who interrupted him, and now it was some unknown person in the dark.

"Fuck off man, you have no business here..." He trailed off as he noticed the person’s silhouette, he couldn’t make out the face of the person but his towering shadowy figure in the dark. For some reason the person presence was overwhelmingly bone chilling, but he tried not to show his fear and spoke again,

"You have no business here man." He repeated.

Hara, who was pined to the snowy ground tried to struggle as the pain in her back had eased up. "Help me, this man is a bully!"

"Shut that hole on your face brat." He pressed his feet hard on her stomach to shut her up.

"Let the girl go, don’t make me repeat myself." The man in the dark spoke again, this time his voice sounded calm as he slowly stepped out of the dark alleyway. And the pale moonlight shone on his face, revealing his deep crimson eyes, that looked straight at the man.

Hara’s forehead creased deeply as she heard the voice clearly this time. Why does this voice sound familiar to her ear?

As Hara was pined to the ground, she couldn’t turn to see the person’s face but could only hear his voice. "Let go of me!" She screamed her small voice shaking with rage. She wanted to see the person’s face, but her attempt to break free only caused the man to press harder on her stomach with his feet, making her wince.

However, hearing her cry of pain, the red eyed man’s eyes narrowed darkening even more, without a second thought he disappeared and reappeared in front of the man, he swiftly caught hold of his neck and lifted him up and away from the little girl on the ground.

"Didn’t I tell you to release her?" He said calmly, his voice sounded deep and cold, just like his piercingly terrifying red eyes that looked into the man’s eyes.

The man couldn’t help but tremble in fright, a shiver ran down his spine as he seemed to realize something. Could this terrifying man be related to this little girl? He...he also disappeared just like the girl and the red eyes...

"Please...spare me, I won’t do it again." He pleaded for his life as the red eyed man tightened his grip around his neck.

Hara who was still on the snowy ground quickly pushed herself up hearing the man plead. "Don’t spare him..." She was about to tell the stranger who saved her not to let the bully go, but she stopped mid sentence as the stranger’s face suddenly fell into her sight. The little girl went stiff, looking incredulous.

Wearing a black gear outfit that fit to his tall muscular build, the stranger who saved her stood tall fiercely grabbing the neck of the burly bully, as the cold winter wind blew by, the stranger’s glistening silver hair that resembled that of her twin brother’s blew across his face, unblemished white skin and deep crimson eyes that looked like hers. Hara gasped In astonishment.

She could never mistake this person, she’d seen him countless times in her dreams, and in the portraits her brother constantly drew.

"Father!" She exclaimed as she ran towards him and wrapped her arms around him, while he was still holding the bully’s neck. But he soon snapped the man’s neck, separating his head from his body and threw his body far away from him.

The red eyed man looked taken aback as he stiffened on the spot by the little girl who was now hugging him tightly, because of his height, Hara’s head only stopped below his waist, and her slender arms were tightly wrapped around his hips. He hated any sort of body contact with people in general, but strangely he didn’t fell like pushing the girl away. She must have mistaken him for someone else.

Before the red eyed man could even say anything, the little girl spoke again with a trembling voice,

"Father I knew you’d return, I missed you so much. Mother and Raha also missed you..." Hara cried, she had only come this way to save that woman, but who would have thought her father whom she was searching for would be her hero? She thought as tears streamed down her face.

The red eyed man’s frown deepened at the girl’s words. How could she mistake him for her father? Perhaps she was still in shock of what just happened? He thought, then slowly tried to unwrap her arms from him, but strangely the little girl seemed so strong, her grip was firm around his hips.

He gently tapped her back, "Little girl, could you please release me? If you want I can help you find your parents. Where do you live?" He tried to coax her.

Hara only cried even more as she thought her father didn’t recognize her because she’d still been a baby when he left, she tightened her hold around him,"Father, I am your daughter, Hara. I have grown up now, please come back home with me. To mother and Raha."

The red eyed man sighed deeply in frustration. He wasn’t good with kids, and he had some business to take care of tonight, but this little girl was getting in his way now. "Little girl, I don’t have a daughter nor a wife. Tell me where you live and I’ll tell my men to take you home, You..." He finally managed to unwrapp her slender little arms from his body. But stopped mid sentence when his eyes met her teary red eyes.

"You...you look a lot like me." He mumbled subconsciously as he stared at the little girl with lines formed between his brows.

Hara bobbed her head and grabbed his sleeve as if he’d disappear if she let go, "...Yes, father, I look like you, while Raha looks a lot like mother." She remarked fondly with tears stained face.

The red eyed man still looked dazed as he asked, "What is your name little girl?" He subconsciously stroked her red hair, he didn’t know why he felt curiously interested in the girl for some reason. And her red hair...

"My name is Hara Hamon De Biville." She smiled as she leaned into his large palm that was stroking her hair like a cat.

The red eyed man’s hand froze as he heard what she said, "Is your father’s name...Hamon?" He asked with confusion written over his face.

"Yes, and you are my father."

The red eyed man stiffened. How could this be? He was also named Hamon, but he never had a wife not to mention children. He doesn’t even live in Findara, so how could this be possible? Who was this girl really?

"Hara...where do you live?" He asked still bemused.

"In the palace of course, father have you forgotten? You are the king, and I’m a princess. Father do you know how much I missed you, a lot of people said I’m a freak because I believed that you’re not dead. Today I beat a bully and mother..." Hara began to narrate everything that had happened so far to the red eyed man, who seemed to also be listening to her carefully. She also told him about how much her mother had missed her father.

"... father, I’m happy that you’re back now, you’d celebrate the winter celebrations with us and I’ll show those bullies that I’m not fatherless." She beamed, then asked, "Do you remember us now? Are going back home with me so we can prepare for the winter celebrations together?"

The red eyed man just stared at the little girl with a dazed expression. However, before he could reply, he heard some distant voices calling to the little girl’s name. It must be the little girl’s family looking for her. He thought. He didn’t want to get caught up with another one of the her family members who might probably misunderstand his identity, thus he simply stepped away from the girl.

Hara wanted to hold his sleeve again, but then heard her mother’s voice from behind,

"Hara!"

Hara’s head quickly snapped towards her mother, who was running towards her direction with some soldiers, "Mother, look father is here, I found him. He_father!" Her smile slowly fell as the spot where her father stood a moment ago now looked empty as if he was never there.

"Father, Mother is here! Father!" She began to panic and was about to run down the dark alleyway direction, but Ara had quickly caught up to her.

"Hara stop it." Ara crouched down to her daughter’s height and cupped her face in her palms. She examined her body to see if she was hurt. "Hara, do you have any idea how worried I was, I thought something happened to you." Ara pulled her into her embrace, but Hara began to cry as she tried to pull away from Ara to go and search for her father.

"Mother, father was here. I spoke to him and he saved me from the bad guys. Let me go and look for him again, he’s somewhere around here, please mother." Hara cried as she pleaded with her mother to let go of her.

Ara’s eyes swelled up with tears, she couldn’t help but blame herself for this. Hara was now obsessed with the thought that Hamon was still alive because she was the one who started it. She’d always told the twins about their father right from when they were still toddlers, and now her daughter was thia obsessed. Even though Ara still believed that her husband would come back someday, she couldn’t help but worry about her daughter’s sanity. If this continued, she was afraid that a day would come when she’d lose Hara.

Now there was only one way left, she had to make Hara accept reality to stop with her obsession.

"Mother, please let me go. I know you know father is also alive. I believe you, I saw him and..."

Ara gently cupped her daughter’s face again, it broke her heart to say what she was about to say, but she had to, if that was the only way to stop this obsession of hers.

"Hara... your father is dead. Dead people don’t come back to life, you have to accept this."

Hara shook her head in denial, "No mother, that’s not true. You have to believe me, I spoke to father. He was here a moment before you arrived. Look." She pointed towards the dead body of the man who had bullied her, "Father killed that man. He saved me from that big bully, I’m not lying."

Ara’s head whirled around to the direction her daughter pointed at, her brows snapped together when she saw a bloody headless body laying on the snowed ground. Ara’s green eyes widened slightly in shock, but she hurriedly composed herself and turned back to her daughter and said,

"Hara listen to me, maybe you mistook someone else for your father. If he was your father, he wouldn’t leave."

As Ara was trying to reason with her daughter, up ahead in the far distance. The red eyed man watched the pair with a blank expression. He could tell the woman was trying to talk Hara into going back home. However, he couldn’t help but gaze at the beautiful red haired woman who seemed to be the little girl’s mother.

"Lord Hamon, the carriages are ready to leave for Greenwood." A man walked up from behind the red eyed man and informed. However, Hamon still didn’t look away from the pair, he then asked,

"Caleb, did lord Ramford ever tell you where he found me six years ago?" He asked without looking away from the direction of the mother and daughter, who were now walking away with the soldiers as it seemed like the mother had finally convinced her daughter.

The man named Caleb shook his head, "No, father never mentioned it. But I think it was somewhere in Greenwood. Why do you ask? Have you finally remembered where you came from?"

Hamon didn’t immediately answer, as he stared at the red haired woman’s retreating figure with longing eyes. He had no memories of himself before six years ago, all he knew about himself was that his name was Hamon. He had no idea where he came from nor if he had a family waiting for him somewhere. All the time he tried to push himself to remember, his memories were blank. But...

After meeting this little girl, he had felt some sort of attachment to her, and her mother gave him a somewhat feeling, as if he’d seen her somewhere before... Could it be that he was actually from Findara, and he also had a wife and children like the girl had claimed? What if the little was right that he was her father?

Hamon inhaled sharply as he ran his hand through his silver hair, he then said to Caleb, "Postpone our journey. I need to find answers to some questions. And to get that, I have to stay in Findara a little longer. Also... prepare some clothes, there will be a winter celebration in the palace."

"Do you plan on attending the celebration in the palace?" Caleb asked slightly bemused as they had received no prior invitation to begin with. So how did Hamon plan to attend?

"Yes, I have to attend. The little girl invited me, I can’t bring myself to let her down for some reason." He said, then added internally, ’And I need to know who I really am. Could it be that I’m the Hamon the little girl spoke of, or is this all a coincidence?

Is it true that they are my family...’
