Wife of The Demon Prince -
Chapter 247: Kill on sight
Chapter 247: Kill on sight
Not long after Hamon walked out, Caleb walked in to meet Ara, she could tell Hamon had sent him as he’d said he would. She would talk Hamon into speaking with Alexander himself, as it seemed he didn’t approve of her meeting with Alex behind his back, and perhaps if they got to speak with each other, they could clear up a bit of the animosity between them.
Ara knew that their current situation was not one to hold pride, she was aware of how Hamon disliked Alex because of how he had once taken credit of all Hamon accomplished in the battlefield.
Alexander may not have intended to do so, but Hamon had taken him as a rival even though they fought for the same kingdom. And Ara knew about their differences. She would have to bring them together somehow in this situation, the Felstead army would be of great help. But for now she had to send out the letters first.
Caleb bowed to Ara, "Your Highness, Prince Hamon said you need my assistant? How may I be of help to you?"
"I want to send out some letters. And I’d appreciate it if you’d help me deliver them. Including the Boxton mansion."
"Oh, it’s nothing. It’s no big deal, I’ll deliver them as soon as possible. Will you write to your family first?"
Ara nodded with a satisfied smile at Caleb’s prompt attention to duty. He quickly brought a quill and some papers. Ara began to write down the letters to some of the officials supporting Hamon, assuring them he was alive and safe. Then picked up another paper to write to her family, but then suddenly halted. She recalled in her past life, weeks after Fredrick’s death, Cornell had rebelled against the kingdom and seized the throne, then destroyed her peaceful family.
But this lifetime seemed to be happening differently. The king had died sooner than he did before, and also Hamon was still present in Findara. A lot of things were happening differently, and it was getting harder to predict the future. But one thing she was sure of was; she wouldn’t allow Cornell win this time no matter what. And she needed to tell Hamon as soon as possible, before he started his rebellion again.
Ara quickly finished composing the letters to all the officials. Then handed them over to Caleb first, "Here, deliver the letters to all the listed names. I’ll write a separate letter for the Boxton mansion."
Caleb took the letters from her, then bowed, "Yes, your highness. Let me know when you’re done writing to the Boxtons. For now, I’ll start delivering these ones to the officials."
"Thank you."
Once again, Caleb bowed to the waist, then hurried away from the room. Ara took another blank paper to write to her family. She decided to write it to her brother instead, he would let their father know of the crown Prince’s current situation. She wrote of how she and Hamon were safe, she made sure not to mention the ambush and falling down the cliff to avoid worrying her family. She also wrote of how they needed the Boxton army to stop the queen from over powering the crown Prince.
After she was done, she exhaled. Ara was glad Anne would be leaving the kingdom in two days, at least she wouldn’t have to worry about her sister after she left Findara. Anne had wanted to leave sooner, but their father had said she should wait for awhile. And if Ara could remember clearly, her departure would be in a few days. Now all that was left was for them to return to the palace before the queen over powers the kingdom.

In the queen’s residence, Merona stood on her chamber’s terrace with a satisfied smile as she watched the thousands of Dumbarton soldiers march around the palace. Since her men couldn’t find the crown Prince’s body, she had gone ahead and made the deal with her brother, and he had given her thousands of his soldiers from the Dumbarton army. Now even if Hamon was alive, he wouldn’t be able to dare come back, and even if he did return...He would be cut down with thousands of poisonous weapons.
Edwin, who stood beside the queen remarked, "Sister, What shall we do with the soldiers in the crown Prince’s residence?"
"Let them be for now, in two days we will set the building on fire and make it seem like an accident. Those soldiers of his must not know about the crown Prince’s situation, if they come to know, they’ll relentlessly fight back. Now that we have this much soldiers on our side, there is nothing to worry about."
"Yes, you’re right, sister. Besides, rumors have spread of the crown Prince fleeing the kingdom because he didn’t want to be king."
Merona smirked hearing that, "Good, in two days, Cassius will be crowned if that bastard still doesn’t show up. You must make sure he never shows his face here. Not even the Boxton’s army can fight against my brother’s troops. There is no way they’ll win."
Merona had already made arrangements, because she knew certainly the crown Prince would seek for the Boxton’s help, but unfortunately for him, general Richard’s army are no more than a few thousands, as he was just a major general. Only the grand general’s army could stand a chance with hers now, but it was good that general Thomas was neutral in the royal case, there was no way he would give Hamon his army.
"Edwin, send out more men to look for the crown Prince and his wife, they should be killed on sight with the poisonous weapons if found alive. And also add more men to the crown Prince’s residence for now. And start preparing for how the fire accident should be started."
"Right away, sister. Some of the troops are already on the search for the couple, but I’ll add more of them to look around the towns in the kingdom."
