Wife of The Demon Prince -
Chapter 194: Love token
Chapter 194: Love token
Ara’s eyebrows creased as she thought through all the recent events to remember what she’d forgotten, but nothing came to her mind, "What is it? I don’t remember..."
At her words, Hamon slipped his hand inside his pocket and brought out a small box. Even before he opened it, Ara recognized the box, "How did you get that?" It was the gift box she’d prepared for him that night, but lost it in the forest when they were being chased.
Hamon opened it, and the emerald diamond ring came to view. She took the box from him with a surprised look, he then said, "You forgot my present."
She looked away from the box, "But where_"
"Oliver found it in the forest, and he told me you bought it for me the day we were attacked. So, did you really plan to gift it to me as your love token?"
Ara flushed, she was ready to give him now, but she was too embarrassed to say the words, she decided to tease him a bit, "I didn’t buy it for you."
He frowned, "Then who did you buy it for?"
"Someone else..."
He raised a brow, "Who is that?"
"A man..."
He chuckled darkly, "Oh, whoever that man is should better start running...If I lay my hands on him, I’d make sure to give him a very painful death."
For a moment, she thought; ’What should I do with this man?’ His words were always violent all the time, but ridiculously, she was drawn to him even more.
When she didn’t reply, he leaned forward and asked curiously, "Wife, you bought it for me and not another man, right?"
Ara didn’t still reply and laughed out loud before embracing him in a tight hug, but then her wound suddenly twinged in pain, "Ow!"
Hamon quickly drew away and looked at her in concern, "Does it hurt? You should be more carefully with your wounds."
"It’s your fault that am being careless now, you looked too cute earlier I couldn’t help but hug you." She retorted, then added, "If the ring isn’t for you then who else? Of course I bought it for you. I planned to give it to you that night, but then that happened and I lost it somewhere around the forest."
He beamed as he glanced at the emerald diamond on the ring, "I like the ring already, it’s colour, just like your eyes."
Ara smiled as she took the ring out of the box, then she held his left hand before carefully slipping it on his ring finger, "This is a token of my love. It suits your finger." She said gently with warmth in her tone.
Hamon just gazed at the emerald jewel on his finger, and soon his face broke into a smile, mesmerizing dimples appearing on his cheeks. Ara also smiled at his pleased reaction. However, when he was about to lift his head up to glance at her, she leaned down and pecked his lips before moving back,
He frowned, "Wife, now you’ve done it. I want a proper kiss." He said but didn’t give her any chance to reply, his hands went behind her neck and drew her closer, then covered her lips with his. Ara couldn’t help but smile between the kiss, and so, she let him invade her mouth and explore every inch of it with his hot tongue. He kissed her until she was breathless and melted like jelly in his arms.
--
After the kiss they’d shared in the garden. Hamon had carried Ara back to their chamber, because she’d been dozing off on his lap the entire time. He carefully lay her down on the bed and also laid beside her until he was sure she’d fallen asleep.
After making sure Ara was fast asleep, Hamon slowly got off the bed, he slipped his jacket on and headed out of the room while carefully closing the door behind him. He had important matters to settle. His steady gait bore an undeniable authority as he headed out of his residence and made to the underground dungeon located in a desolate area of the palace.
The underground dungeons were different from any other. It was dank and gloomy, the stone walls were stained with dark red pigment. While the place itself, reeked of blood and rusty metal smell. Hamon’s shoes made clicking sounds as he walked down the stairs. He soon arrived at where Oliver was waiting for him in front of a cell.
Oliver bowed as he noticed Hamon, "Your Highness."
Hamon gave a curt nod before asking, "Where is he?"
"He’s chained inside. None of the men have laid a hand on him like you instructed."
"Very well." After saying this, Hamon causally made his way inside the cell. Inside it, was marquis Favian whose both wrists were cuffed with chains that were attached to the cell ceiling.
Hamon had done his investigation and found out that it was Favian who sent the assassins to attack them that night. Moreover, when his men had went to arrest Favian, the soldiers found the Tudor mansion empty, as he’d fled the kingdom with his wife, but unfortunately for Favian, the crown Prince’s soldier were one step ahead of him, they caught him right when the Tudor carriage was about to cross the border.
Favian who looked haggard standing for too long in the dank cell because of the chains holding him up, noticed someone entered, seeing it was Hamon, his expression quickly turned pitiful, "Y-your Highness. Please get me out of this place...I swear on my ancestors I wasn’t the main culprit behind the assassination attempt on you and your wife. Spare my life and I’ll tell you who the culprit was...Please."
Hamon didn’t reply nor blink and just stared at Favian with a murderous glint in his crimson cold eyes.
Favian felt a shiver down his spine, his blood immediately ran cold feeling the dangerous energy radiating from the crown Prince. His brain began to think of how to get out of this. Well, since that witch of a queen had went as far as to betray him, he might as well do the same. Favian quickly began to confess,
"Your Highness...I will tell you the truth this time. I swear on my only daughter, it was queen Merona who tricked me into it. She tricked me, I really didn’t want to do it, but she threatened to kill my entire family if I don’t do it..."
Even with Favian’s confession, Hamon’s icy cold stare didn’t drop. He stood with his hands in his trouser pockets as he listened. When he didn’t react, Favian paused in bemusement at the prince’s nonchalant attitude. "Your Highness, believe me, she’s evil! She made me do it_"
"If the queen asked you to take out your eyes, would you?" Hamon’s voice was cold as ice and rigid as stone.
"I..."
Hamon smirked devilishly, he then pulled his hands out of his pockets and began to roll up his sleeves revealing his taut muscular forearms with bulging veins. He looked at Favian with his murderous eyes, "I hope you know that was your last chance. So are you done with your last words?"
The middle-aged man eyes flew wide, he suddenly felt his legs began to tremble. He had a feeling the Prince wasn’t here for his confession...He was here for something else.
"Favian, you know. No one knew you’re being held captive in this dungeon, and you won’t be brought for any trial, because I have another plan for you."
"Y-your Highness..." A chill ran down his spine seeing Hamon taking intimidating steps towards him. Strangely his red eyes darkened even more as purple veins began to appear on his forearms and spread to his face...not just that, long sharp claws. Favian recoiled in fear. Monster!
Favian was terrified at the sight in front of him, he couldn’t even open his mouth to speak.
"I don’t need your testimony, Favian. Even without it, I have my ways to catch the queen." He stated and came one step closer to the trembling man, "Every person involved in this...Will die like you."
Favian’s face paled up as he struggled against the chains holding him up, "P-please don’t kill me, I didn’t do anything_ha!" in a blink of an eye, Hamon stood right in front of him, before he could plead again, Hamon’s long sharp claws had penetrated his chest, "Oops, too late." He squeezed his beating heart inside his chest until it busted out.
Favian’s body soon feel slacked with the chains only holding him up, thick blood flew out of his ripped chest.
"Oliver!" Hamon called.
Oliver, who was standing outside hurriedly entered. "Yes, Your Highness?" He grimaced at the sight of the body.
"Get rid of his body." He instructed with no emotions on his face, "What about Astral?" He asked about his injured horse.
"She is still under treatment, but she’s recovering really fast as well."
"Good, make sure no one knows about marquis Tudor’s death. If questions arises; Favian has fled Findara."
