Chapter 157: Kiss me

Chapter 157: Kiss me

"For all I care, You are my wife and I can choose to attend to you in however posture I want. Am just treating your knee, they can come and see. And anyone who dares utter a word against you will have to face me first." He stated firmly as he continued to wrap the bandage around her knee after applying the ointment.

His words were enough to set fire to Ara’s confused mind. Her heart pounded in her ears even louder than before, she could feel his gentle touch on her knee, it sent sparks to her body making her blood boil from his searing touch.

Hamon finished wrapping up the bandage and glanced up at her with a soft gentle smile on his face, "All done." Ara nodded slowly as she gazed at his face, his eyes were filled with warmth. He was still on his knees in front of her gazing back at her.

Ara’s eyes slowly fell on his lips, the affectionate curve of his lips made her yearn for them at that moment. Without thinking, she raised her hands and gently caressed the length of his sliver hair. Hamon was taken aback, but did not move away from her sudden touch and just gazed back at her.

She gradually placed her hands on his cheeks, she caressed his high cheekbones with her slender hands. She smiled to herself before gently running her thumb over his lips. Hamon glanced at her questioningly as she seemed to be enjoying playing with his face, he was about to speak when Ara firmly cupped his face.

She leaned in and whispered with her cheeks turning bright red, "Hamon...kiss me."

Hamon was taken aback for the second time at her words. Was she serious? As he didn’t move and only stared at her like she hadn’t just asked him to kiss her, Ara frowned, she then moved in and sealed his lips with hers. As she was inexperienced, she didn’t move her lips against his. Hamon, who was frozen at her sudden desire to kiss him came back to his sense.

She really wanted a kiss? He parted his lips to deepen the kiss, but the moment he was about to do just that, Ara fell straight on his chest, he reflexively caught her unconscious body so she wouldn’t fall over.

She fell asleep at such a moment?

He tightened his hold on her, he could feel her steady breathing on his chest. A sigh escaped his mouth. Hamon glanced down at the sleeping Ara. Why does she always like to torture him unknowingly? She would really pay for all this one day. He thought.

Hamon gathered her body in his arms, he couldn’t help but think; her body felt so fragile, she’d lost weight from the first time he’d met her in this lifetime. It felt as if she could break if he so much as made one wrong move. Hadn’t she been eating?

Hamon took her back inside their chamber, he carefully placed her on the bed and drew the blanket to cover her up. He gazed at her sleeping face for awhile and stood up, he was about to turn when he felt her holding tightly to his sleeve, "Hamon...sleep beside me, please." She requested with her eyes slightly opened.

"Are you sure?" He asked, but there was no reply, however she was still holding tightly to his sleeve. With a sigh he climbed into the bed and and covered them both with the blanket, "I hope you won’t regret this in the morning." He muttered.

The moment he climbed in, Ara moved closer to him as if seeking warmth, she wrapped her arm around his waist and placed her head on his firm chest, "You smell...good." She murmured as she moved up to bury her head in the crook of his neck. Her warm breathing was slightly tickling his neck. And her body was so pleasantly warm that he didn’t want to move away from her for a second.

Despite her drunken state her scent still made him dizzy and made his body react with how close she was to him, "You are going to be the death of me, wife." He breathed.

Hamon took in a deep breath to calm himself. She was just drunk and punishing him. It was really going to be a long night for him, she was torturing him unknowingly, "Wife, you will have to pay for this one day. Mark my words."

The next morning, Ara woke up with a pounding headache, with her eyes still closed she tried to turn on the bed, but felt a firm arm keeping her in place. She frowned, her head was hurting so much, it must be a hangover from drinking too much last night, however what was holding her waist?

Ara slightly opened her eyes and looked down, her eyes widened as she saw a hand wrapped around her waist, she couldn’t see the person’s face but she knew it was Hamon. He drew her closer, she felt her back pressed against his rock-hard chest, her toes curled as his lips brushed past her ear, "You are finally awake, wife." He whispered with his deep husky morning voice.

Her breath hitched as she quickly pushed away from his hold and turned to face him, "What on earth are you doing on my side of the bed?"

Hamon propped up his head on one hand as he watched her, his shirt’s front buttons were undone exposing his well built chest, he had a mischievous look on his face.

Ara hurriedly glanced down, she breathed a sigh of relief seeing she was still wearing her dress from yesterday.

Hamon raised a brow, "Why am I here, you asked? Have you forgotten?"

Ara’s eyebrows drew together, "Forgotten wh_" Her words died in her throat as memories of last night flashed to her mind like a panorama.

’Oh Lord!’ Ara’s cheeks flamed up.

’What have I done? I was crazy enough to say that!’

She had never done something like that before, even after drinking so much in her past life. For the first time she realized how dangerous drinking was. Kiss me?! She’d said that to him? She had already kissed Hamon twice, but each time had a purpose.

The kiss at the wedding was inevitable, and the kiss at the training hall was meant to keep his soldiers from stepping in, but last night...

She’d kissed him for no reason. ’Oh Lord, this is so embarrassing!’

She wished a hole would appear and swallow her so she would never be able to come out again. She was so embarrassed she didn’t want to look into his eyes. Unfortunately, there was no place to hide with him so close to her as if he was trying to block all her escape routes.

’I don’t want to ever think of that memory or talk about it!’

Cowardly as it was, she didn’t want to think about last night, but Hamon had been silently gauging her reaction and knew she remembered what she’d done last night. Ara had a feeling that; if she pretended to feign ignorance now, it wouldn’t work at all.

Hamon gazed at Ara for another moment before he turned to the bedside table and poured a cup of water from a jug on the table, he then handed it to her, "Have some water."

Ara hadn’t realized her throat was parched dry until he gave her the cup of water. She didn’t know how to react about what she’d done last night, so to buy more time, she took the cup and began to sip little by little to buy her more time to think of an excuse, however it seemed Hamon had no patience and didn’t wait for her to finish sipping and spoke,

"About what you did last night, why did you do that?"

"What did I do?" Ara almost choked on her water, she could feel her heart beating wildly against her rib cage.

Hamon narrowed his eyes at her, "It will be my pleasure to remind you of your actions last night if you don’t remember."

Ara hurriedly exclaimed, "It’s because of the wine!"

Hamon’s eyebrows furrowed as he looked at her doubtfully, "Because of the wine?"

"Yes, I am sorry if my actions made you uncomfortable last night. I didn’t mean to do all that, I must have been quite drunk to act that way."

Ara hopped her hasty excuse was enough, it was too late for her to pretend she didn’t remember anything, and she couldn’t think of anything else to say. It seemed to her that this was the only way to calm the situation.

However, the more Ara spoke, the more stoner Hamon’s expression became, "So you only did all that because you were too drunk?"

"Yes, I guess..."

"And if I wasn’t the one with you last night, You would have done the same with another man?"

"...??!"

Was that what he thought?! Ara swallowed nervously as their conversation seemed to have shifted to something else. Hamon’s mood seemed to turn cold, but Ara couldn’t simply say the word on her mind to him,

’I only did that because I have feelings for you, I would never do that with another man.’ She couldn’t say it, it was a confession she didn’t want to accept herself.

As she didn’t reply, Hamon continued, "From now on, I forbid you from touching any alcoholic wine in my absence. I will hide the keys to all the wine cellars in my residence. You will only be able to have it when am around, okay?"

Ara was forced to nod obediently at his firm words. She had a ridiculous drinking habit whenever she got mad, but that was her own fault, "Okay..."
