Wife of The Demon Prince -
Chapter 133: Wedding night
Chapter 133: Wedding night
At the sight of the room’s arrangement, Ara began to ramble nervously, "Your...room looks different. The red petals looks like the ones in the hall, but the ones in the hall looked a bit darker. Didn’t you see the ones used for the decorations in the hall?"
Ara rambled on the first words that came to mind as she took in the rose petals scattered on the bed. She didn’t want to let Hamon know about her nervousness.
Hamon strode towards the couch and carefully placed Ara on it, he then replied, "Were there flowers in the hall? I didn’t notice any of the decorations."
Ara stared at him, she couldn’t believe Hamon didn’t notice that prominent details in the hall. "The red flowers were everywhere in the hall, didn’t you see them? If not, then what were you looking at the whole time in the ceremo_"
Ara paused as a scene suddenly floated to her mind. Hamon had been gazing at her the whole time? Was he really...
Ara’s green eyes flickered in astonishment as she stared at him. Unbelievable! She thought.
Hamon causally sank next to her into the luxurious couch with an indifferent expression and replied in a low voice, "So, you did not know what I was looking at the ceremony?"
"You..."
Hamon raised a brow, "Should I tell you what caught my attention the whole time at the wedding?"
Ara didn’t need him to say it. He’d been gazing at her the whole time at the wedding ceremony. He was really unbelievable! Her face was quick to heat up in embarrassment. Before Hamon could continue, she hurried to reply, "No, you don’t have to tell me. It’s just flowers." She laughed nervously.
Hamon noticed Ara’s sudden bashfulness however, a smile tugged on the corner of his mouth. He observed her wordlessly, she shifted on the couch as if not comfortable. He picked up the bottle of wine sitting on the table,
"Do you care for a drink?"
Ara shook her head, "No, I’m fine..."
She’d really need a drink at the moment, but it wouldn’t be a good idea for her to drink at this time. Not when there was a predator in the room. Should she end up getting intoxicated then... forget Hamon, even she herself might end up doing or saying something inappropriate.
Hamon poured himself a glass and took a sip without further comment.
As he sipped the wine elegantly from the glass, Ara turned towards him, she couldn’t help but notice how attractive he looked as he did so. He looked like an angel descended from heaven with his sliver hair and pale skin. He held the glass seductively, the scene from the wedding ceremony suddenly flashed to her mind. The way he held her waist and kissed her.
Ara nervously swallowed her saliva as she kept stealing glances at him. Hamon, oblivious of her interest, emptied his glass then spoke again, "Wife. I can sense your nervousness, and it’s making me have thoughts."
"...?"
Hamon seemed to have noticed the tension twisting her mind despite her outward calm appearance. With no particular reply to give him, she cleared her throat and shifted to sit comfortably on the couch, but Hamon continued in his husky voice,
"I can still sense it, maybe you should try to hide it more...now that we will be sharing a room and a bed, if I sense an opening, I can’t help but want to penetrate it in my own way."
Ara’s eyebrows snapped together. What was he saying? Penetrate? His words could be interpreted in many ways. An opening?
They’d agreed on the contract that they would not have any intimate affairs until he becomes king and made her his queen. But when she thinks about it now, was it possible for a man and woman to share a bed and expect nothing to happen between them? She might be inexperienced about romance, but she wasn’t ignorant.
Eventually, the day would come when she’d have to fulfill her duty as a wife to Hamon, but she couldn’t let that be now, she’d take her duty as his wife after she was sure her family were safe this time. She couldn’t let herself be swayed by some strange feelings yet.
With that thought, Ara cleared her mind, and the strange feelings running through her body subsided, she pulled herself together and asked in a serious tone, "Are you finding it hard to keep to our agreement already?" She questioned seriously, but deep down she couldn’t help but feel bad for being this way towards him.
Hamon shook his head, "Not at all, I wouldn’t have agreed to the contract if I can’t keep to it ...But all I want is for you to make it easy for me to keep to my words. Don’t make it difficult again."
How was she making it difficult? Ara stared at Hamon in confusion, he then smirked and continued, "You know, sometimes nervousness looks like anticipation in my eyes, and when I see you like that...I feel the desire to fulfill whatever you anticipate."
Ara blinked twice at his words. Was she anticipating anything? "Y-you...am not anticipating anything, nervousness is different from anticipation." She retorted, but Hamon’s lips tugged up as he moved from his side and loomed over her on the couch, his two hands on both sides of her head caging her on the couch. Ara nervously blinked at his actions, "W-what do y-you think you are doing?" She stuttered as she stiffened on the couch.
Hamon gazed at her green eyes with a devilish smile on his lips, he then leaned over next to her ear and whispered, "I’m aware of the difference." He replied to her earlier words and continued, "But don’t make such nervous expressions like you are right now. If you do, it might get to the point where I won’t be stopped, until I hear you cry out my name..." He paused and used his hand resting on the couch to caress her lift cheek, which had turned crimson. He swiped over her cheek with his thumb while still staring at her eyes.
Ara’s whole body warmed up from the inside just by his touch, their eyes locked, the intensity in his gazed told her he was holding back. His red eyes looked darker than ever. Just his gaze alone was enough to make her feel things she hadn’t felt before. She closed her eyes and leaned into his touch, like a cat seeking for its master touch.
Hamon stopped caressing her cheeks. He then cupped her cheek with his palm, he felt how warm it was in his cold palms. He slowly leaned over, her thick eyelashes trembled at his touch, she looked more beautiful than ever in the dim light, he could perceive her sweet flowery scent. She smelled like roses in morning dew, sweet and mesmerizing. He inhaled deeply, he wanted more, more of her scent, more of her.
He wanted to hold her tight, kiss every inch of her skin. His body urged him to kiss her and do things to her, but his brain screamed at him to stop. She wasn’t ready yet, she hadn’t given her heart to him yet, and that was a fact he knew well.
As Ara felt his hand left her cheeks, and rested back on the head couch, her eyes flew open. She stared at him, what was she doing? She couldn’t let him always sway her this way. Not yet, Ara! She came back to her sense, "Hamon?" His eyes were filled with hungry stares, like a predator caging it’s prey, ready to devour it at anytime. She glanced away from his heated gaze.
As if realizing their position, he moved away from her and sat back on the couch, "Don’t worry, I won’t touch you, yet. I will stand by my words until I become king. But you will also keep to our agreement."
Their contract stated they would share a room and a bed, and not do anything married couples do, but after he becomes king, he’d have every right to her as her husband. And she’d do her duty as his wife. Hamon was clearly trying to get to the point now, Ara pulled herself together and sat well on the couch before she replied,
"I will hold to mine."
Ara didn’t want to be distracted with anything else, saving her family was her utmost priority, she knew after that, another future would unfold from the last one, she’d focus on her relationship with Hamon after that. There were still many mountains they’d have to climb even after the wedding, and she wouldn’t want to fall for any of these feelings not knowing what the future had in store for all of them.
Hamon sighed, "Alright, if you promise to keep your words, then let’s get on with this first."
Hamon slowly rose from the couch, Ara watched as he walked into his dressing room, and soon he came out with a new grey bedsheet and a small dagger in hand.
Ara’s eyes widened, what was he going to do with a dagger and a sheet?!
