Wife of The Demon Prince
Chapter 131: The Felsteads

Chapter 131: The Felsteads

Author’s note: Hi guys, someone asked me a question, so I thought to write it here to clear the confusion of why the FL thinks ML doesn’t have romantic feelings towards her. That’s because of her inner turmoil, she focuses on her mission to save her family and kill Cornell that she doesn’t want to believe Hamon has any feelings towards her, and because of the fact that she sees him just as a friend, she’d rather keep it that way, because of how she made herself believe in this fact, it has also stopped her from realizing that maybe she might have started having feelings for him as well. Plus, she is inexperienced in the romance field and all that stuff. I hope this came clear though? Btw, MERRY CHRISTMAS! May all your wishes come true, have a blessed holiday!

Love, Ash20.

Night fell quickly. And Ara who’d been going round greeting her distant relatives who came from afar. She’d been talking to Danielle, her distant cousin, when she suddenly noticed how the sky had turned dark through the window and remembered Hamon.

She’d completely forgotten about him being in the hall, she’d even forgotten it was their wedding banquet. Ara quickly excused herself from there, she then started to search for Hamon around the hall. She searched everywhere but didn’t see any signs of him. She was fatigued after going around meeting her family, and now she couldn’t find him in the hall?

After few minutes of searching, she suddenly remembered Hamon had told her to meet him on the balcony. Ara hurried to the direction, and there he was sitting alone with his back to her.

As if senses her presence he spoke even before turning, "You left your groom alone for hours on the first day of the wedding? That’s not fair, wife."

Ara gradually walked towards the disgruntled-looking Hamon. However, most of the guests in the hall had wanted to approach him for a talk, but the overwhelmingly hostile atmosphere Hamon was exuding kept everybody away from him.

Ara pursed her lips, "I didn’t leave you alone...I thought you wanted to be alone and that’s why you didn’t come with me. Moreover, you are the one intimidating everyone away from you. Didn’t you want to be left alone?" She questioned.

Hamon turned towards her with a small frown, "Yes I wanted to be left alone and don’t want people disturbing me with their baseless talks, but that doesn’t include my wife. I want to be with you, that’s all."

Ara was taken aback by his straightforwardness. Despite his petulance, he did want her company after all. She hesitated for a moment, then said, "...I’m sorry, I did not know you were waiting for me. You said you wanted to meet someone earlier...so I didn’t come back soon."

She’d asked him to come with her, but he told her to go ahead first. But she forgot he’d said he would wait for her right here.

Hamon’s expression softened at her words. He knew she hardly apologized to anybody. He smiled and spoke in a low voice, which Ara didn’t hear his words completely, "I can’t help but want to give you the world whenever you give me that sorry expression."

"Huh?"

"Mhm." He hummed, "Whenever I see you, you make me feel like everything will turn out alright this time..."

Ara was taken aback again. So he wasn’t expecting things to turn out alright? But why? She stared at him confusingly, but he strode towards her without explaining and held out his arm for her to take.

"Someone wants to meet you. After that we will leave to our home..." Hamon said and leaned close to her ear, whispering for only her to hear, "Are you forgetting something, wife? It’s our first night, remember? So we have to go back home early"

Ara’s green eyes widened. What was he saying?? They’d agreed on the contract that he wouldn’t touch her until he made her his queen. "Are you forgetting the_" before she could remind him of the contract, Hamon took her hand and pulled her along with a grin showing his two dimples.

Ara glared at his back as he pulled her hand, he must be joking or playing a prank on her again. Yes, it was their first night, but that doesn’t mean something would happen between them. Why does he always like to play with her mind?

Ara stared at Hamon ahead of her. She was determined not to be swayed by him until her family were saved, but she could feel as if she was slowly falling into his pace with each passing day, and the biggest problem was...She was slowly getting used to it in this lifetime.

Hamon took her to meet the Felstead’s, he’d heard from Merek that Ara was seeking for the Felstead family’s support for his sake. He wasn’t on good terms with the Felstead’s household, or Alexander. But if they’d be of help, he wouldn’t stop her from bringing them to their side before the time comes to take the throne.

Ara was surprised to see Alexander, she sighted him at the ceremony, but she’d thought they’d left already. Alexander stood beside a middle-aged man, they looked quite alike. She thought.

"We finally meet again, Lord Thomas." Hamon said to the middle-aged man.

Ara’s eyes glimmered, the man was the grand general. Thomas Felstead! Alexander and his father bowed in respect, "Hail your highnesses."

Hamon gestured for them to raise their heads, "Meet my wife, Lord Thomas." He introduced. The general’s eyes shifted to Ara. Ara opened her mouth to speak, "It’s my pleasure to meet you, Lord Thomas. I am_"

She’d almost introduced herself as the Boxton’s eldest daughter, but remembered that she took her husband’s last name now. After the short pause, Ara glanced up at Hamon, and he gave her a nod to go ahead, she then said,

"I am Arabella De Biville..."

Thomas gave her a half smile, "Yes. I saw you at the wedding ceremony, I’m the grand general of Findara. You must have met my son, Alex." He said, and Alex offered her a charming smile. Thomas continued, "Congratulations on your wedding with the crown Prince."

Ara noticed Thomas’s forced smile, which didn’t seem welcoming. It was expected of a grand general of the Kingdom. He served the king but sworn to never take part in the royal affairs. But if he’d support Hamon, it would be of great help. She wondered if they’d ever be able to convince him or Alexander to Hamon’s side.

Thomas was simultaneously the most desired ally and the most feared enemy one could have.

Alexander stood with an amused smile on his handsome face as he watched the couple, he then glanced at Hamon with a smirk and said, "I never knew you were this romantic, Your Highness. With everything you’ve done for your wife, you’re making the other men feel useless. I even heard you didn’t take a dowry, it’s really hard to believe someone like you would do such thing."

Hamon chuckled, "Why? Are you jealous because I have a wife, and choose to spoil her with my wealth? I don’t think I stopped anyone from getting their own wife and doing the same...you can go ahead and do it too." He said with a bragging tone.

Alexander laughed, "I’m not interested in getting a wife. I just feel sorry for the rest of the men. All I’ve been hearing from the ladies the entire time, is how romantic you are, some were even saying the rest of the men are useless...And I don’t think the men are happy about that, Your Highness."

Hamon causally put his hands in his pocket as he replied nonchalantly, "Well, that’s their problem not mine."

Ara’s mouth was left opened the whole time. She understood Alex’s words perfectly. Everything Hamon had done for her had soared among the elites lately. And the rest of the men must be feeling self-conscious for it. But Hamon doesn’t even seem to care less.

After a pause, Ara quickly hugged Hamon’s arm, Hamon slightly stiffened at the unexpected body contact, but his expression didn’t change and no one else noticed.

Ara then remarked, "It’s true, my husband is really loyal to me alone. That’s why he’d done all that for me, he loves and cares for me alone."

Hamon glanced at her in astonishment. What was she up to?

Ara’s smile widened as she stared at Thomas. Rumors had it that Thomas disliked men who were unloyal to their wives. They said he’d only loved one woman through his life, and he’d never taken another wife even after she passed away for years. Which was rare in their kingdom.

Thomas might support them if Hamon made an impression of a devoted lover instead of a Casanova he appeared to look like. Ara thought.
