Chapter 125: Mannerless princess!

All of the guest had arrived at the palace. One by one, the elites started to walk inside the decorated ballroom in the palace. There was already a slow rhythm in the background with all the hundreds of chandeliers lit up, it gave the hall a beautiful golden theme.

The center of the hall was left empty for the couples dance, while the sides were filled with chairs and tables arranged in an elegant manner. There was a long table for the royal family.

People were already mingling with each while they waited for the newly wed couple who were yet to step inside the ballroom. While some were already dancing in the center.

Eadlin sat on a random table, which wasn’t meant for royalty, she had a dreamy expression on as she glanced at a man who had caught her attention at the wedding hall. Such a handsome man. She wondered if he was already matched, he’d had the same expression on his face even though it was his sister’s wedding, but why was he sitting alone in a corner? She thought to herself.

Well, maybe she should approach him? Yes, that would be good! Her mother wasn’t here yet, she’d go talk to him before her mother or brother arrived. With that thought in mind, Eadlin stood up and walked towards Henry.

Henry, who wasn’t used to attending any social events was forced to sit and be around people for his sister’s wedding. He’d rather be in his training grounds using different weapons to hone his skills further than be in such celebration. He’d somehow tolerated the wedding ceremony, but being here with all these elites was much more tiring than being with his swords.

Just as Henry was thinking of how to leave the celebration for awhile, he noticed a slender figure approaching him. When he saw it was the princess, he stood up and bowed as befitting for a royal, "Your Highness." But Eadlin flashed him a friendly smile, "There’s no need for such greetings, your sister is now my sister-in-law, which means we are now...related?" She had a thoughtful expression on, "What does that make us now?" She asked him.

But Henry just stared at her with his stony expression. They weren’t related in anyway, and he had no intentions of being related to the royal family if not for his sister. He replied calmly, "We are not related, Your Highness. My sister is your sister-in-law not me...why are you here?" He asked straightforwardly, he had no time to waste in such celebration and was already eager to be out of there.

Instead of answering Eadlin’s light brown eyes drifted to the dance center, her whole face lit up, without saying anything she suddenly took Henry’s hand and pulled him towards the dance center.

"Dance with me!"

Henry’s face twitched. As she’d pulled him off guard, but before they even reached the dance center, he pulled his hand away from her and halted his steps, "What do you think you’re doing, Your Highness? You should have some dignity as a woman!" Henry reprimanded, his stony expression turned stern, he had little tolerance for such type of physical contact and completely disregarded the fact that she was royalty.

Eadlin’s fine brows furrowed, "Dignity? I was only going to dance with you, is there anything wrong with that?" She asked clueless, how was dancing with him made her not have dignity?

He cleared his throat,"I don’t dance. And don’t ever touch me, I don’t like being touched even a slightest bit." His deep voice was laced with immense displeasure, his expression rigid as he rebuked her. After he finished issuing his warning to her he ignored her presence taking his handkerchief out to wipe the place she’d held him.

Ever since Henry was young, he never liked anybody touching him, not even his mother. He hated any physical contact that would suggest intimacy, And he disliked even having a conversation with the opposite gender. He even found it hard to hold a conversation with his sisters, not to mention some stranger.

But Eadlin who hadn’t known him or his character, found him to be quite rude and arrogant. What does he think of himself? She was a princess and he was treating her like some kind of dirty being? She watched with astonishment as he wiped down his hands as if he’d been touched by garbage not even bothering that she was still standing there.

Humph! He doesn’t like being touched right? She smirked, she’d teach him a lesson!

Eadlin flashed him an innocent smile, but he continued to ignore her presence, she moved closer to him slowly with a sly smile on her face.

Seeing the distance between them reducing drastically Henry gave her a questioning look, but before he could say anything or even be able to react, she raised her slender hand and caressed his cheeks, his eyes widened as he felt the softness of her hands against his face, she even... She even pinched his cheeks??!

Her hands moved to his brownish black long hair and stroked the length of it.

His hair was thick, thicker than most women. She thought.

Henry was frozen at the spot gobsmacked at her guts. How dare she touch him after he’d warned her?! He found himself barely able to form a word at how close she was standing to him, she was literally glued to him that her light fragrance was wafting into his nose, but her hands didn’t stop roaming over him.

Her hand was slowly moving from his hair to his firm chest, but before she could reach his chest he was quick to grab her wrist, "Do you not have any self respect, Princess. I have told you I hate being touched!" He said through clenched teeth, his eyes glowered dangerously, any young lady would cower in fright.

But Eadlin didn’t even flinch at his angered face, her smile widened, there was a daring glint in her eyes glimmering with a challenging light as she pulled her hand out of his hold, "That’s a lesson. If you think I lack dignity, then you lack manners. learn how treat a woman nicely next time. You’re too arrogant for my liking anyway." She stuck out her nose in the air and walked away after saying that. She was a princess, and she had dignity. Even though she would have liked to be friends with him, but he was too rude!

Henry just stared at her disappearing figure. Too arrogant for her liking? What did she mean by he should learn to treat women nicely? On top of the fact that she dared to touch him, she even dared to say he lacked manners?! In what way did he lack manners? Wasn’t he even being nice to her by not breaking the hand she’d touched him with? Women these days really lack any form of self respect! Thank heavens his sisters weren’t the types to go touching men!

Just as Henry was about to leave the the hall angered and unable to take how he had just been physically harassed by a woman, he saw the king and the queen finally arrived at the hall. So he had no choice but to go back to his corner sit and sat down with his stone expression. He’d endure the people and the boisterous celebration for his sister’s sake.
