Chapter 323: Chapter 332: Never Had Such a Wonderful Start!

After reaching the summit this time, Chen Tingquan took a careful look and realized that the Wind Element he had previously followed did indeed point to an inconspicuous relic entrance by the side. It was just that he had jumped down without keeping his hold on the same kind of view he saw in the promotional footage, and so he hadn’t noticed it.

At this moment, he was controlling the Hero to enter the relic and temporarily gained the Power of Wind.

Afterward, he needed to use the Power of Wind to unlock the game challenges set within the relic and receive confirmation from the Sage of Wind in order to leave the relic and truly acquire this ability.

According to the explanation given by the Sage of Wind in the game, this continent has always had Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind Elements since ancient times, each controlled by a sage.

However, most of these sages had already merged with the Power of the Elements, and only when near the relics could they have brief interactions and guide the Hero.

Only after the Hero entered the relics could they converse with the sages.

The mission of these sages was to select a talented Hero when the continent was in danger and impart the Power of the Elements to them so they could defeat the evil that shrouded the entire Fantasy Continent.

The initially unlocked Power of Wind had two different abilities: grasping and manipulating objects, and summoning a gust of wind in a specific direction to blow the Hero or objects across a distance.

The challenges within the relic were not complicated, consisting of only three minor levels.

In the first level, there was a small square stone block on a high platform beyond the Hero’s reach. At this time, the player needed to control the Power of Wind, bind and grab the small stone block, place it on a specific button on the opposite side, and open the first gate.

In the second level, a deep chasm lay on the essential path, with a rope and a basket above the chasm. Chen Tingquan had the Hero stand in the basket and then used the wind to glide successfully to the other side of the chasm.

The third level was a bit more complex, even requiring a certain degree of skill and manipulation.

Players needed to obtain a Giant Arrow from a high place first, then release the hold of the Power of Wind, allowing the arrow to fall freely from above and in front of them.

As the arrow fell, players needed to charge up and use the blowing effect of the wind, directing the arrow toward the target on the other side of the abyss.

When the arrow hit the target, the door to the third level opened, and the Hero successfully acquired this ability.

At the same time, each time a relic was completed, the Hero’s base attributes would also increase correspondingly.

These challenges were not complicated, after all, they were newbie levels in the game. The game intentionally misled and hid the content of these challenges, such as the Giant Arrow and small stone block being buried in a pile of leaves, which needed to be blown away with the wind to be seen.

Or, once players acquired a bit of Fire Element, they could also choose to burn away the leaves.

After entering the puzzle-solving segment, the game basically did not provide many hints, and players had to rely on various elements within the game to guess on their own. If they weren’t on the same wavelength as the designer, they might get stuck for a few minutes.

However, as the game progressed, later relics would become increasingly complex, and players could use various methods to clear them by then.

After leaving the relic of the Sage of Wind, Chen Tingquan continued to move forward.

On his way, he began to encounter some small monsters. After dealing with them without much trouble, he followed the predetermined route to other Elemental Sages’ guidance and unlocked more abilities.

During this process, Chen Tingquan also noticed that the weapons and items in this game were all subject to durability loss!

He had taken a Woodcutting Axe from inside the cabin when he first left home, which, compared to the branches that could be picked up everywhere on the ground, obviously dealt much more damage and was useful for chopping wood and splitting logs.

However, after fighting only a few monsters, the axe broke to pieces!

This left Chen Tingquan momentarily dumbfounded and somewhat at a loss.

Although the small monsters he fought dropped items like sticks, and rusty swords, the thought of the axe still made Chen Tingquan feel a twinge of pain.

If only he had known, he would have saved it and used branches to fight the monsters instead!

But this little incident did not have too much negative impact on Chen Tingquan’s gaming experience. He just felt that the weapon durability concept was a bit annoying, but since weapons were plentiful in the game, he could barely accept it.

In the subsequent relics, the Hero acquired even more abilities.

Creating Flame Bombs with the Fire Element, fusing items or crossing rivers with the Water Element, Earth Element Burrowing...

Many players had already experienced these contents in previous playtests, but Chen Tingquan had not attended the playtests and had only briefly learned about them from online videos.

It was only when he got hands-on that he realized it was a completely different feeling than watching videos.

Not only that, Chen Tingquan found that these special abilities were not just useful for solving puzzles. When his Hero left the relics and returned to the Fantasy Continent, these abilities significantly enhanced his gameplay experience!

For example, previously when encountering groups of small monsters, he could only approach carefully to stealthily attack or keep his distance and kill them one by one. But now, he could use Flame Bombs to blast all the small monsters to pieces, then use the bombs to ignite the grass and burn them to death.

Alternatively, he could use Burrowing to enter the monsters’ camp undetected, stealthily take out the leader from behind causing the monsters to panic, and then steal the chests from the camp and slip away.

After acquiring the Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire Elements in the newbie area, players could also gain control over the Time Element, entering a brief Time Stop State.

In addition to that, in the time relic, Chen Tingquan was surprised to find that he could use the power of the Time Element to determine the time properties of some objects, which would be indicated by different colors depending on their properties.

For instance, weapons that have been used frequently would lean more towards red, while less frequently used weapons would lean towards green.

Items and treasures in levels, the older they were, the more valuable they became, and could be collected to sell to merchants.

After mastering all the abilities, it was not until the Hero obtained Glider Wings that he officially entered the main storyline.

Drifting down from the high mountains of the newbie area, constantly using the Power of Wind to carry himself further, the entire vast world was laid out before his eyes.

Chen Tingquan felt incredibly good.

"My lord, friends, I’ve never had such a wonderful start!

"Is this really a Nitiandang game? The opening is as smooth as silk, simply unstoppable!"
