Chapter 289: Chapter 223: The Elf Clan is Challenging the Dungeon - Part 2
But in reality, it activated a dense swarm of laser stone bugs hibernating on the ceiling, providing full and relentless firepower coverage of the room!
That’s the damn stone bug from the "Elden Ring" DLC that shoots lasers.
If you’re lucky enough to survive the firepower coverage, they then become snipers, blasting your face from time to time in the subsequent battle, with high damage and quick attack frequencies, plus the Crystal Elder darting around the field and the impassioned symphony coming from who knows where...
The entire battle experience is like being roasted over a fire, nauseating and irritating!
Steeran and company challenged the Crystal Elder three times, three entire times! Until the end, they still couldn’t secure a victory!
Why not attempt more times? Because they delayed too long with the boss, and the Monsters they had killed on the way respawned.
What’s the point of continuing this battle.
They promptly packed up their things and ran out, intending to level up at the bonfire before leaving, only to find that all their souls were gone.
All in all, it was a very frustrating exploration experience, incredibly frustrating—a true crappy map.
Steeran often wondered, did they miss something that made clearing the level so difficult? But where exactly did the problem lie? It was baffling.
Five people challenging a dungeon designed for a hundred, who wouldn’t find it tough?
Therefore, she was very interested in Luluwo’s exploration, curious how they managed to maintain filming amidst such high-intensity battles.
As if blessed by the heavens, Luluwo and his team chose to explore the branch on the right, which perfectly allowed Steeran to uncover the unknown territory.
"Quick, quick, quick, let me see how you’re suffering." A bloodthirsty smile appeared on her face, she couldn’t wait to see the disheveled appearance of Luluwo and his group!
This mentality is like a person with wet shoes by the river wishing for the next person to drown.
But after a while, when Steeran finished watching the footage, her face turned red.
Not from shyness, but from rage.
"Why was it so easy for them!"
The small house echoed with her loud roar.
The next day, Vienma suddenly received a message from Steeran, telling them to get ready to set off today.
"Why so sudden?"
Although puzzled, she quickly made preparations to depart, taking the Elves with her to the Teleportation Gate of Sain Dungeon.
The onlooking crowd pointed and whispered about the Elves who had been stirring up trouble everywhere recently. After a while, Steeran, fully armed and expressionless, walked over. Normally sensitive to her surroundings, this time she even ignored the people’s murmuring and greeted the Elves.
"Why are there only nine people?" she asked, puzzled.
"There’s a limit to the number of people who can teleport, so we sent the others to Val City earlier," Merca said with a smile. "The ones who stayed are the elite."
Lizna also wanted to say something, but seeing Steeran apparently uninterested, she obediently shut her mouth.
Steeran nodded, took a quick glance to see who was and wasn’t there, and then said to Vienma:
"Let’s depart."
"Don’t push yourself too hard." Vienma’s tone revealed her concern; she noticed something was off about Steeran’s mood—it seemed like...
Indignation?
The Elves’ destination was clear: first, find a Tutor Hat for a free Master’s title, then enter the Lake District, and when to come back was to be determined.
But as soon as they entered the Fire Transmission Ceremony and took the elevator to the Endless Corridor, an unexpected situation occurred.
"Where did Curipa go?" Steeran suddenly noticed someone was missing.
The rest shook their heads, completely unaware anyone was lost.
Curipa, a famous foodie and chef of the Elf Clan, was the one previously stealing potted plants from every household.
"I think I probably know where that guy went," Steeran sighed and gestured, "Never mind him, let’s go."
The subsequent journey proved that having more people during the exploration of the Dungeon was truly useful; with the increase of companions, there was a full sense of reassurance in everyone’s hearts.
The process of finding the Transfer Token was quite easy, and soon every member had obtained one. They even discovered a new way to deal with Doll Soldiers—using Hardened Vines to jam the joints of their opponents. If the joints couldn’t move, then Doll Soldiers were as good as done.
Everyone activated their Transfer Tokens, and with a flash of light, all disappeared, except for Vienma, who remained.
From beneath her long dress, a vine crept out, coiling around the remains of a Doll Soldier and retracted back in. After a series of "crack crack" sounds, she showed a look of disgust, then resolutely activated her Transfer Token.
"What happened just now?" Steeran asked, looking at her who appeared only later.
However, the latter just smiled slightly, without uttering a word.
[Good heavens, Magic Radiance above, so many students!?]
The wave of Elves startled the Tutor Hat, which then became extremely delighted, cheerfully allocating tutors to the Elves.
Having previously been assigned a tutor and knowing the outcome, Steeran remained unimpressed upon learning that her tutor was Obeck, and she smoothly acquired the Secret Agent magic, which negated fall damage—though it was understood that too high a fall would still be fatal.
With so many Elves present, the final tally revealed that many had been assigned the same tutors, and several familiar names kept coming up.
"Seren..."
Vienma murmured her tutor’s name, conjuring a burst of Luminous Stone Magic Gravel with a flick of her hand, her face pensive.
Star Magic originated from the stars, and stars too were products of nature. What could be more synonymous with the concept of ’nature’ than the stars themselves?
This perfectly matched her own magic philosophy of being close to nature.
The original plan was to head to the Lake District immediately after allocating the tutors, but now she changed her mind, telling Steeran:
"I want to take a look at the room with the Spade symbol."
No one had any objections since they were already there, why not check it out along the way.
After finding the key, they went from room to room, from the origin of Star Magic to the expansion of the academy, still feeling awe when they saw the murals with their own eyes.
"Be careful, there’s a Monster behind the door," Steeran cautioned before opening the last door, having been troubled by the Magician’s Ball behind it and holding the unforgettable socially mortifying memory that "inside the Magician’s Ball was so warm".
When the door was cracked open a smidge, Vienma tapped her Magic Wand on the ground, and from thin air burst forth a plethora of peculiar plants.
The Magician’s Ball immediately fell into a deep sleep upon contact with the spores sprayed from these strange plants.
Why spare its life?
Everyone looked at Vienma with confusion, and she stared intently at the Magician’s Ball, her expression stern.
The room fell silent, everyone knew that Vienma was contemplating, but what could there be to ponder about a weird ball?
Just then, she suddenly spoke.
"It transformed from a Magician."
"What?"
Steeran was taken aback. How did one come up with such a radical theory?
Neither Hades nor any of the other Magic Professors had thought of this, so why did Vienma think so?
But she didn’t explain, perhaps feeling even if she did, they wouldn’t understand, and instead directly said, "Go find the red heart key."
The only door that hadn’t been opened yet was the red heart one, but they couldn’t find the key.
"There."
Vienma pointed to the ground far away, and everyone looked over.
They saw the footsteps glittering faintly on the carpet flashing and running even faster upon sensing the crowd’s gaze.
"Chase it!"
