While My Mage Wife Grinds, I Power Up Idly
Chapter 115: I Thought You Were a Nun

Chapter 115: Chapter 115: I Thought You Were a Nun

"As expected."

Ashu continued.

After hearing the Divine Oracle, every member of the family’s face changed.

Ashu went on, "Go now. No matter what, you must survive. I promise you things will turn for the better—seek refuge at the Church."

Hearing this, the family nodded stiffly.

Escorting such a family from the Demon-infested war zone to the heavily guarded Church was indeed no easy task.

He had personally teleported over six hundred Demons into the town, while Rose Valley’s entire defense force totaled fewer than six hundred.

Among them, ordinary soldiers made up the vast majority. With weapon enchantments and years of training, they might muster some fighting strength,

but they were far from a match for high-ranking Demons.

The few soldiers capable of wielding Magical Essence formed the Mage and Knight battalions, yet they were still being driven back by the onslaught of Demons.

Ashu led the family out of the fallen district, positioning himself behind the Demon ranks.

He strode ahead, head held high, moving toward the rear of the Demon army.

"Look! There are survivors over there!"

"Damn it, are they idiots? How dare they swagger behind the Demon lines?"

"What can we do? The Demons are pressing hard—we can’t break through to save them!"

"Save them? You’ve got to be kidding. They’re probably Divine Mother Goddess devotees—let them die! They’ll be torn apart any second!"

The Knight battalion of Rose Valley exchanged curses.

Their shouted remarks reached the Demons, who all turned to look behind them.

"Hmm?"

"Grr... It’s him..."

"What is he doing..."

"No..."

At least two hundred Demons pressed against the Knight line. Though not a huge number, they formed a dark mass in the narrow streets.

Before these Demons could even identify Ashu, he raised his Divine Mother Goddess statuette high.

"O holy Mother! Grant me the purging power of Holy Light! I, Ashu, Luminous Saint, stand here!"

Only then did the Demons realize their mistake.

Alas, it was too late.

The Divine Mother Goddess’s Holy Light manifested, fierce and dazzling, like a sacred sword descending from the heavens.

In that moment, dozens of Demons were obliterated, and the rest scattered in panic.

But Ashu would hardly let any live.

He waved his hand. "Come forth, Holy Shield Knight!"

"Rumble—"

The Holy Shield Knight wasn’t a Divine Mother Goddess faction skill, yet its summoning closely resembled those of that faction.

Thus, before everyone’s eyes, the towering, majestic Holy Shield Knight materialized out of thin air on the streets of Rose Valley, astride a radiant warhorse, lance in hand, charging at the remaining Demons!

The Holy Shield Knight’s power was at least at the Grand Archmage level!

And here, they were only common Demon soldiers, not even the inner-circle patrol squad.

At the same time,

Ashu began to gather his Thundering Surge.

With his Magister-level might in normal mode, the skies above Rose Valley soon crackled with thunderbolts in rapid succession.

Once the Holy Shield Knight had driven the last Demons into a corner, Ashu unleashed the lightning.

"Rumble rumble rumble—"

Unrelenting strikes of lightning battered the Demons and struck fear into the hearts of Rose Valley’s Mage and Knight battalions.

Some of their elites had participated in Town Mayor Seras Tully’s exercise today—a trap set to kill the so-called Luminous Saint.

Yet now, they witnessed the ’greatness’ of the Luminous Saint firsthand.

He not only embodied an unwavering, never-give-up dedication to the Light, but also wielded ruthless means to punish evil.

The towering, awe-inspiring Holy Shield Knight, the wrathful Thundering Surge, and the ever-responsive Divine Mother Goddess statuettes...

His entire presence was unlike anything Rose Valley had ever seen—in this cesspool of the Tully family, a true Luminous Saint had arrived!

Before long,

Under the combined might of the Holy Shield Knight and Thundering Surge, over two hundred Demon soldiers were utterly destroyed.

"Clack—"

Ashu slipped the Divine Mother Goddess statuettes back into his pocket and dusted off the slightly soiled hem of his robes.

Then, leading the family, he strode forward.

Seeing this, the once-insolent Knight battalion hastily lowered their shields, parting a path.

They watched Ashu lead the group through as if greeting a king’s coronation.

Throughout the passage, they kept their lips sealed, daring not utter a word, even stifling their breaths.

Beyond the Knights lay the Mages, and beyond them stood the Church.

Ashu paused and said to the family, "Go on, seek refuge now; leave the rest to me. Everything will be all right."

The family, having witnessed Ashu’s power and heard the Divine Oracle of the Divine Mother Goddess, wholeheartedly accepted his plan.

Where Ashu pointed east, they went east; where he pointed west, they went west.

Just then,

A thunderous crack echoed from the sky.

Ashu calmly peered through his Reaper’s Eye and discovered that the Grand Archmages who had been struggling with the Greater Demon Shava were now ripped in half, their bodies plummeting from the heavens.

"Obviously, there was no longer any need to consider the Reaper’s claw mark."

And what drove the Greater Demon Shava to strike with murderous intent was nothing else but the arrival of the Sword King from the Imperial Capital!

In the vision of the Reaper’s Eye, a life force as powerful as a peak-grade Shava shot down like a rainbow blade, piercing the sky above Rose Valley.

Shava slipped sideways in an instant, narrowly avoiding that arc of rainbow light.

When the light settled, it revealed a man in flowing robes, sword in hand—a radiant, iridescent longsword held aloft.

"What a show-off..." Ashu thought to himself.

"Huh? Not the Nun?" The Greater Demon Shava sized up the Sword King with his goat-like slanted eyes. He’d much rather have faced the Demon Huntress Nun than this newcomer. He sneered, "I thought you were the Nun."

"Hmph." The Sword King snorted coldly, his voice soft yet cutting. "Demon, daring to invade this place—I will sever your head!"

"Heh. I’ll stuff your brain down your own ass and see if you can still talk then."

No sooner had Shava finished speaking than he charged the Sword King.

Battles of this caliber shook the earth with every clash, and those watching from below gazed upward in awe and aspiration.

People in this world were ranked in tiers, and reaching such heights was a one-in-a-million feat—everyone dreamed of wielding that level of power.

Unlike the others, Ashu noticed the army the Sword King had brought.

The Sword King, swift as ever, rode at the forefront to engage Shava, while through the Reaper’s Eye Ashu saw a large contingent of formidable life forces rapidly closing in on Rose Valley.

Among them were no fewer than ten Grand Archmages.

"The Imperial Capital’s pool of talent really is abundant," Ashu sighed inwardly.

By contrast, Shava’s demon horde was at a disadvantage—after all, Ashu had just wiped out a great many of them.

Well then.

It was time to switch roles.

Following the principle of "help whoever’s weaker," he would now stand with the Demons against the Imperial Capital’s reinforcements.

"Children, Imperial Capital’s support has arrived—let us reclaim our town for humanity!"

With that, Ashu cast Swift Flight Magic and vanished in an instant.

Once he reached a secluded corner, he immediately activated Reaper’s Resolve mode—in this exclusive state, he became pure to the core of the dark side.

By the time Rose Valley’s soldiers wondered where Ashu had gone, he stood alone outside the town, draped in a black cloak and wielding his ten-meter scythe.

He barred the path before the massed ranks of the Imperial Capital’s forces.

This time, he deliberately intensified his release of Death power, masking his features in shadow.

"Passage forbidden—either return the way you came or... die." Ashu suppressed his voice with Magical Essence, making it deep and hoarse.

At this declaration, the ever-arrogant Imperial troops paid him no heed and pressed their charge forward.

Seeing this, Ashu swung his ten-meter scythe in a flash, unleashing five Death blade auras that streaked toward the densest cluster of soldiers.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The Death sword aura detonated among the ranks, and with that single blast, it sent many Imperial Capital soldiers to their graves.

...

In the sky.

The Greater Demon Shava, who was engaged in battle with the Sword King, took notice of the scene.

When he fixed his gaze on Ashu’s figure, the corners of his mouth lifted into a smirk. "What a surprising fellow. I can’t fall behind—there’s no way this masterpiece ends in disappointment!!"

With that thought,

the Greater Demon Shava unconsciously began performing a bloody ritual.

He inhaled with both hands toward different points on the ground, drawing two inner-circle patrol members into his grasp.

Those two demons were both of Grand Archmage–level strength.

"Lord Shava, Lord Shava, don’t—"

"Lord Shava, we’re needed right now, you can’t—"

"Don’t be afraid, my child."

Shava bared two rows of neat teeth—teeth that should belong to a herbivore, yet looked horribly bloody and evil.

A superior power emanated from his hands, and the two Grand Archmage–level demons in his grasp didn’t resist at all as they were compressed into two spheres.

He picked up the red sphere and began to gnaw on it.

Instantly,

half of his Magical Essence that he had intentionally dispelled began to restore at lightning speed.

Even the combined strength of four inner-circle patrol members couldn’t match half his Magical Essence, but this special ritual seemed to produce extraordinary results.

As Shava feasted, a blood-red mist began to spread, gradually enveloping the entire town.
