When Did I Become An Artifact Dealer?!
Chapter 80 - 81: Battle With The Fake God

Chapter 80: Chapter 81: Battle With The Fake God

The memory shattered. Cail felt like his head was going to explode from pain. The memory vanishing wasn’t a good thing since another memory replaced it. This time, it wasn’t as clear as the one from before, but more like spliced memories from different people.

Cail realized that this was the Fake God’s way of attacking him. Before using this artifact, Cail took a great risk, betting if the box or the so-called Fake God was more powerful, and he succeeded. The artifact coming from the box stayed true to its promise.

"You opened the door. Let me show you what’s behind it." The Fake God’s voice sounded inside his mind.

Cail’s nose bled. He bit down on his tongue and tried to stay awake.

Memory after memory flashed in his mind. Cail knew that this was probably the limit of human endurance, but during this struggle, Cail discovered something.

There seemed to be some kind of barrier in his mind. He had no idea what it did, but he was sure that it had one function: keeping him sane after all of this.

While Cail was fighting the Fake God mentally, the people around him were not doing any better.

What’s scarier than fighting a Fake God? Fighting a Mad Fake God with no consciousness of being injured or any sense of crisis. All it does is attack, attack, and attack.

On the battlefield, screams echoed. Most weaker void users died without being attacked, just blood bleeding and bursting to death from the void energy that the Fake God emitted.

Seban looked up. He saw the tall and towering Fake God palming the ground as if it were squashing little ants. He didn’t feel pressure, but more like excitement.

"Hahahahahaha!" He laughed like a deranged madman. "Kiddo! I’m liking you a bit now. Just a bit though."

With a flick of his wrist, he produced a loud boom. The Fake God was pushed back a bit, but it continued walking. Seban’s hands glowed and black gloves appeared together with a large broadsword.

"I HATE MY ABILITY!" He stomped his feet, the ground below him cracking. He used the momentum to jump up, face to face with the puppet Fake God. "I like melee better!"

With a slash of his sword, the Fake God was quick to block it with its arms. The moment the sharp blade came into contact with the faces, it released a loud shriek.

Seban grinned and isolated the piercing sounds. He landed on the Fake God’s arm and continued attacking it.

Just as they thought that was all the Fake God’s physical attacks, tendrils lashed out, striking like lightning. Vale, who was the closest one to the Fake God after being pushed by someone, was sliced in half.

Sellene knew that this was getting out of hand and Cail was probably not what he seemed to be. She shielded her father, necessary or not.

Her fingers trembled as she lifted her hand. The air condensed unnaturally then froze, utterly and completely.

Time itself seemed to halt. Sellene was already at her weakest state, but somehow, because of her desperation, she managed to gather one final burst.

The Tyrant, looking at her, just laughed like a lunatic.

"Now that’s my girl!"

He slammed his palms together. Pressure compressing like a supernova appeared in the center of his hands. He looked at the Chairman and said, "You see that, old man? That’s the kind of woman you’d want as a wife."

The Chairman ignored him.

Arny heard it. He and Seban came from the same family, and since he was together with that crazy patriarch most of the time, he got infected by his desire to gossip.

Although this time was inappropriate, Arny, after hearing that, thought, "This Chairman, he doesn’t owe the Selavieas Family a debt, right?" Because there was no way that he would believe he’d give Sellene to this crazy bastard willingly.

The Chairman stood calmly as if this whole scene had nothing to do with him. The laws around him were bending, heading toward his orders. Reality was refusing to misbehave in his presence.

On the other side of the battlefield.

Saeb pushed Sirae away. He looked at her, frowning. "Don’t get in my way," he said as he slashed a black tendril that was attempting to cut him in half.

Sirae huffed but didn’t show it. She was glaring at Saeb. "Y-you, why are you treating me like this? I have been useful the entire time!"

"Stitching someone’s clothes back together after they’re cut is not the same as saving them," Saeb said, thinking that Sirae was useless.

This time, Sirae couldn’t hide her face souring. She hated this guy. Cold to the bone, not even the slightest tender feeling for a girl. But before she could even retort, the ground erupted and she threw herself back, screaming.

Arny popped out of the ground. Since he wasn’t that useful on the Chairman’s side, he decided to go to the children and was met with a skittish Sirae.

He barely had any time to grab her collar and throw her to the side as another tentacle was attacking them.

He couldn’t help but reprimand her. "Lady, don’t just run around like an idiot. This is the battlefield! Presence of mind! Presence of mind!"

Sirae, with her hair disheveled, glared at Arny. "What did you just call me?!" Being together with her sister, no one dared speak to her like that for a very long time.

Actually, she would have felt pressure when facing this Fake God, but the artifact that she got managed to protect her. It was certainly a treasure.

But it was also a disadvantage. Because she couldn’t feel how strong it was, her sense of crisis was off, or maybe her brain just doesn’t work properly.

Arny ignored her. He stomped his feet and a wall of dirt came up. Defense was good, but you couldn’t stay that way forever. He bent down and touched the ground.

A large arrowhead formed. It launched itself from the ground, towards the rampaging Fake God.

"You brats are too slow!" Seban’s voice echoed. He looked down and was dissatisfied with the progress.

While fighting the Fake God, he realized that it seemed to have senses... like touch, taste, pain, hearing, sight, and smell.

After that discovery, he jumped down and the moment he landed, the ground vibrated. "This guy is going bonkers, but if I’m loud enough, then maybe he’ll hear reason!" he joked, but the vibration he released underground was not a laughing matter.

It sent a mini earthquake, and it didn’t just affect the land... it could vibrate people to death.

It was chaos.
