When Did I Become An Artifact Dealer?!
Chapter 100 - 101: Seductress

Chapter 100: Chapter 101: Seductress

"You want proof?" Cail said. "Then we’d be talking here the entire day. If that’s the case, I’d better leave. I’m not a formal member of the organization but an outside force. I’ll just tell your head that you drove me out." Then he made a motion as if he were about to leave the room.

"Stop." The leader frowned. "I’ll lead you underground." Then, with a fierce look, he glared at Cail. "If you dare mess around, don’t even think you can come back to the surface alive."

Cail shrugged his shoulders. He thought the man would contact his superiors, but for some reason, he didn’t.

The leader and the henchman melted underground. Cail stood on the tile where they had stood. He could feel a fluctuation of void energy coming from the spot. The moment he poured his void energy onto it, just like the previous two, he melted underground.

Once he regained control of his body, what greeted him was a gloomy, decent-sized room. What caught his attention wasn’t how damp and cold the place was, but the rampaging void energy coming from the wooden object.

He turned his head toward the leader, who was glaring at the coffin. "Is this what you call under control?"

The leader felt a bit awkward, but it was what it was. One of the reasons he didn’t dare contact his superiors now was because he felt anxious. The necklace was getting out of control to the point that the void energy it released resembled a blade.

Cail, despite not activating his glasses, could see green streaks in the air. The man’s subordinates were huddling in the corner as the uncontrollable void energy wreaked havoc.

"This..." The leader wanted to say, "Then do something!" but held back when he remembered this man was probably his superior.

"Useless," Cail muttered under his breath. At first, he thought he would learn something about how this leader managed the artifact. "How did you keep this artifact under control?"

The leader was an arrogant, face-saving man. He was boastful toward his superiors and a bully toward his members. This time, his pride was a bit wounded—something under his supervision was going out of control.

"When the artifact is fed with humans, it’s somewhat under control." With no other choice, the leader had to tell the truth.

"Under control?" Cail looked at the mini coffin that was blasting void blades. "Satiated is probably the right word for that."

He walked toward the small coffin and pulled a ring from his pocket. The rampaging void energy vanished without a trace. Cail also felt that the ring had stopped heating up.

The leader felt somewhat convinced and relieved that the man was reliable.

"Open it." Cail took a step back. He pointed at the leader and then at the small coffin.

The leader walked toward the coffin and opened it. Inside, Cail saw that the coffin wasn’t actually that tiny. At least the opening part looked small, but it seemed to spread out in the back.

The small coffin was embedded in the wall. Inside was a dried-up corpse wearing a green necklace. The necklace sat on the corpse’s chest as if choking him.

"Take the necklace out." Despite seeing that it was calm, Cail didn’t dare risk it. The necklace was unknown.

The leader had a hesitant look on his face. "This... I don’t think we can just touch this necklace. And besides, if we take it off the corpse, the function will stop, and our target will probably escape."

Cail was losing his patience. "I don’t care. Pull it out and place it on the table." Then his eyes sharpened. "Don’t order anyone. I want you to do it." The last sentence was just his preference. He’d long been annoyed by this big man.

Hearing an order that so casually disregarded human life, the leader remembered the way he had shoved his members into the coffin. This is the wheel of life: sometimes you’re on top, and other times you’re back at the bottom.

The leader gritted his teeth. On the surface, he obediently followed Cail’s orders, but in his mind, he had already imagined killing Cail multiple times.

When his hand touched the cold necklace, he flinched. But to his relief, it didn’t seem to do anything. After carefully pulling the necklace out of the dried corpse, he quickly walked to the table and placed it down.

Cail took a closer look at the necklace. It was a golden collar necklace with multiple green stones. In the center was a hollow hole. Cail looked at his ring, then at the hole... It seemed like the ring was supposed to go there?

For some reason, Cail had no interest in putting the ring into the necklace. Just as he was about to say something, his hand was pulled uncontrollably toward it.

It wasn’t void energy controlling him, but rather like a gentle hand was pulling his wrist toward the necklace.

Cail wanted to pull his hand back, but the ’thing’ holding him was strong. The moment he touched the necklace, his vision changed.

In front of him wasn’t a necklace, but a beautiful, naked green-haired woman.

What caught Cail’s gaze were her eyes. She was staring directly at his soul. Her eyes were deep gold—they resembled the gold of the necklace. Her face... it looked seductively stunning. If Sellene’s beauty was pure and holy, this woman’s beauty was wanton and deadly. She had a slight smile on her lips.

Her hair long wavy hair draped over her shoulders, covering parts of her breasts. But that didn’t diminish her sensuality as the slight coverage could make anyone’s imagination go wild.

She raised her arms, as if asking for a hug. Her hands touched Cail’s face. She leaned closer—close enough that their noses almost touched.

Cail could see her golden eyes. It wasn’t a good sight, because staring at it made him felt like he was looking at a bottomless pit that lead to the abyss.

"I’ve waited several lifetimes for you to find me."
