Chapter 536 - 536: They Want An Academy Arc Too

Thankfully, no other enemies showed up after that so that really meant everyone really just came in one wave together.

Deviminio managed to finish his little PR stunt without any problems so I'm expecting a big payout from this.

"That was a rather annoying job…" Amber whined as we watched the Station Administrator leave the area.

Since we didn't want to stay too long here in case more of them showed up who were late to the party, we only looted some of the things we could carry before we left the area as well.

I found out later that Deviminio was broadcasting his little tour with a few minutes delay so the people working behind the scenes could edit the steam as it was being broadcasted to remove any sounds and accidental video captures of anything bad for his image.

I suppose I didn't even really need to be worried about hiding myself since they would have edited me out anyway… But I guess if the thing was too big to edit like an entire tank appearing in front of him and started shooting indiscriminately… They would not be able to edit that out.

Well, what's done is done anyway and I'm just glad that this was over.

If his opponents also decide to do this and he wants to send people to mess with them, he would just need to find someone else to do it.

But right now, I'm just grinning at the thirty million Credits that had been transferred to me after we had returned to our ship.

"I'm actually a little scared…" Ries muttered.

I turned to raise an eyebrow at her, "Scared? Why?"

"I have never seen so much money in one place before, Boss… Heck, even before this I had never had this much access to stuff…"

Right, I can understand her feelings at least.

The good thing was that I was more affluent than this when I was in the game so this wasn't really that big of a deal for me if I just thought of it that way.

Amber chuckled, "At least you're not alone in that. I have never been able to earn that much money while I was a solo Merc either."

I shrugged, "There's more of us and we're taking more high risk, high paying jobs so I would say this result was a given."

"Anyway, Boss is saving up for an Exo-Knight right?" Ries asked, her eyes sparkling.

"I wouldn't mind having one, yes. But that would be for later I guess… Since apparently I need to have a license to pilot one after all."

I put my Codex away before I realised Amber and Lea were both giving me a particular look which I recognised as an indication that they wanted something.

I raised my eyebrow at them, "You two want to get a license for that as well?"

Amber nodded immediately, "I would be lying if I said I didn't! Being able to pilot one would be so cool! Ah, but I don't mind just continuing to pilot my current ship of course. But if you're going to the academy to get a license… Could I come too?"

Lea also spoke up, "If Mistress does not mind… I would also like to try as well."

Well, I don't particularly have anything against them joining so I guess why not?

"Actually, do you want to go as well?" I asked, turning to Mara and Ries.

Ries seemed surprised by my suggestion, "E… Eh? Can I?"

"Hmm? Of course you can? I mean… If you don't want to I won't force you but if you want to, I won't stop you either."

"Please! Please let me join too, Boss!" She pleaded, her eyes practically sparkling.

I couldn't help it so I went ahead to give her a headpat before I turned to Mara, "What about you?"

She shook her head, "I'll pass, Captain. I'm not interested in such things."

Not surprising… I think if it doesn't have anything to do with Gene Splices, she might not be interested at all.

Lea spoke up right then, "Is this alright, Mistress? From what I know… I believe it costs quite a bit to even enroll in such an Academy…"

"Eh? How much are we talking about?"

"Depending on the school… You could be paying over a few million just to enroll… And there's no guarantee that you would even get the license…"

Ries chuckled, "Ahaha! That's only if you're attending the schools in the Inner Colonies, Lea! If we find those that don't only cater to nobles, we should be able to find one that won't even cost a few hundred thousand Credits!"

That's still quite a lot but definitely less than a few million at least.

Amber then hugged me from behind, "So when are we headed there? I've always wanted to try piloting an Exo-Knight!"

I half turned to look at her, "Did you forget? I have that challenge with Valiea in a few days time. Then we still need to raid those pirates to get the map. So if we want to do that, we would have to finish this first."

"Awww… Then I guess we better prepare for you to wreck Valiea then. We need to prepare your present!"

I froze.

Err… Wasn't that meant to be a surprise, Amber? In fact… I had totally forgotten about it until you brought it up…

Didn't you and the other girls all sneak out just to prepare for that behind my back in the first place?

What do I do now? Do I just pretend like I didn't hear anything?

I tried to peek at the rest of my girls and… Eh? No reactions? Did they not notice that Amber let their secret out?

Great! Then I need to cover for her before they realise that!

I cleared my throat, "Ahem… So… Speaking of which… I was thinking that maybe… Err… We worked out quite a bit earlier so… How about we have a bath together? And maybe… Err… We could have sex there too?"

Ahhhhh!! I panicked ok?! That was the only thing I could think of to distract them!

Seems like it worked because I immediately felt arms wrapping around both my left and right arms and I looked to realise it was Amber and Lea seizing my arms as they captured me in between them.

"That's a great idea, Tera! We have to clean you thoroughly after needing to go to a place as dirty as that! We have to make sure that you are completely clean!"

"That's right, Mistress. Please leave everything to us and we will make sure there is not a sign of dirt on your body once we are done."

I couldn't help but feel a shiver go up my spine at their words.

Unfortunately, I had no place to run now because in front of me there were another two girls who were looking at me like how a hungry predator might look at their prey.

"Don't worry Boss… I will also help to clean you thoroughly!"

"Fufu… That's right, Captain… I might also need some cleaning myself so I'm hoping that you could reach in deep with your thing to thoroughly clean my insides~"

Err… Maybe I should have just suggested that I make them tea or something.

Too late as the four of them dragged me off towards the bathroom without giving me a chance to change my mind.

Well… I will just say though… They got really dirty in the beginning since they wanted to be glazed by my honey but we all cleaned up properly after they were satisfied…

Then we had another few rounds in the bath and I literally could do nothing but lay there and take it…

Not gonna lie… It still felt good though so no complaints.

Several days have passed and it was time.

I looked up at the giant projection that showed a picture of Valiea on the left with my masked figure on the right, both of us posing as though we were glaring at each other.

Instead of being at the couple's bar, it seems like they had expanded the event so that it was held in some indoor stadium instead.

And right now, outside of this stadium, was an entire sea of people who were waiting to get in…

Those who weren't able to purchase tickets to watch this challenge would be watching it online through the online streams and I even heard the tickets were sold out within seconds of it going online.

I may have underestimated just how popular Valiea was… Not only in this station but around this sector…

When I left my ship this morning, the entire space outside the station was filled with ships carrying people who had specifically flown all the way here just to try and watch this live.

Well… Too late to back down now I guess… Time to head in and start the show.
