Way of Overlord
Chapter 71: The Current Situation

Chapter 71: The Current Situation

The War of the Nine Wolves ended and with it, the disintegration of the Utgard tribe.

Out of the nine wolves, only three survives.

Two of the brothers who had formed an alliance during the war retreat to the lower north, while the Ninth Son, Garron, flees to the south and establishes another Utgard tribe.

Garron however was not happy that he had to run. But he knew he could not stay as staying means being killed

Those old allies are all exhausted. The allies that his father had built crumbled because all of the nine sons of Fareon had uses the alliance to fight for the leadership power of the Utgard tribe

Who could guess that all of the alliance was exhausted and now the entire tribe itself has been disintegrated?

If Fareon could see it from the Afterlife he would weep

As he plans to go south, Garron knew he would not be able to establishes a foothold if he did not have some help.

But he has a plan

As he is the most favoured son of Fareon, he knows some knowledge that his father had told him

And he knows that his father had said that in the South, the influence of the Ashana is very deep and powerful

While they do not wield it and uses it, their words have power. The other one is if he met an Honest Virtuous Person and let such person to vouch for him

To him it is easier for him to ask for help from the Ashana.

Seeking assistance and refuge, Garron approaches the Ashana

Garron met with the Ashana who convened in the Great Hut of Ashana in the Flat Hill who held deep respect and gratitude towards Fareon for his honourable treatment of them.

The Ashana, recognizing the debt owed to Fareon, convene and decide to support Garron in establishing a small tribe in the south.

They send a message to the surrounding tribes, urging them not to harm or harass Garron as he is fleeing from his brothers and has lost his home.

The words of the Ashana are respected, and Garron begins to forge alliances in the south.

However, unlike his father, Garron is characterized by cunning and cruelty.

He quickly forms alliances with other small tribes, only to betray them later.

He finds ways to justify his actions, using promises of peace and non-aggression to gain power and carve out an existence among the numerous small tribes scattered throughout the southern Great Steppe.

Unaware of the prophecy surrounding him, Garron remains oblivious to the curse that has followed him since he killed his brother.

He did not know from the moment he kills his brother, there is a curse that had followed

"The Ninth Son shall suffer and he shall be cursed. A brother blood spilled; a curse followed"

"A daughter wed; the lineage of Son of Storms shall rise. From east to west, from north to south, the lineage shall spread all over"

As years pass and the Utgard tribe establishes its presence in the south, unaware of the prophecy surrounding Garron, the wheels of fate continue to turn.

The prophecy regarding the Son of Storms and Fareon own son remains entrusted to only a few individuals

Little do they know that the prophecy is on the verge of unfolding, poised to bring about significant changes to the entire Great Steppe.

The Utgard tribe, with its complex history and the actions of Garron, will serve as the catalyst for this momentous event.

The prophecy’s manifestation will not only impact the Utgard tribe but have far-reaching consequences that will reverberate throughout the Great Steppe.

The destiny of tribes, clans, and the very fabric of the land itself will be intricately woven into the unfolding events.

The Utgard tribe, unwittingly playing a pivotal role in this grand tapestry, will stand at the centre of an extraordinary and turbulent Chapter in the history of the region.

One day, there will be the Son of Storms that will bring unity to blue sealed Marynku, uniting the Ashran and conquering the Eresian

He will be the bearer of the eternal Blue Sky, and he will be the lord of All Marynku.

The Great Supreme Lord of all Chief of the Great Steppe.

Called by the Heavens, Bestowed to enrich the world, The Lord of the Blue Marynku

Knees be knelt and heads be bowed, Declared the empire with law and order

Unify the kingdoms with arms and conquer the world from horseback, He’ll forge an empire, revered and feared.

Through battles and strife, he’ll gather his might, Uniting the tribes, bringing an end to their fight.

From unknown to leader renowned, His name, like thunder, shall resound."

.....

In the current Utgard tribe, the tribe is pitifully small compared to its heights.

The new generation does not know the true glory of the Utgard tribe when they use to rule the Central Steppe with the other eight tribes.

But, like always there is storyteller, Pencerita.

Pencerita tell the stories of the tribe, tells folklore and folktales.

The old that followed Garron still remember those glory days. Garron from the moment he set foot on the south has never forgotten his lifelong desire to return back to the Central Steppe and regained back the glory of his tribe.

Even he could not escape form the hatred of tribes and he could not see pass through it like his father.

His father Fareon has great ambition and he has a large heart to accept everything. Fareon did not disappoint his father, in life or in death

Even in his father could see from the lands of the Skyfather, he would be proud.

But if Fareon could see his sons, he would probably be sighing with disappointment from the Afterlife.

Garron wanted to return back to the Central Steppe, but after a few years in the South, he also knew how hard it is to gather forces.

Every tribe around him is wary of him. Even though he uses all kinds of cunning tactics, he still has something missing to truly amass a great force belonging to his tribe.

The years is passing and he felt rushed

A breakthrough arrives in the form of Xewa tribe. He had surrendered to Xewa tribe but that is all in his plans.

He would rest under the shade of a greater power and then when the time is ripe, he would usurp the power of the Xewa tribe. And then he would make other plans.

However, something unexpected happened. The Brolgadhr tribe, led by that fierce young Chief, Aeryon returns back to the Great Steppe, and attacking the Xewa tribe.

In just a night he decimated hundreds of men. And in a few days, he attacked the Xewa tribe. Then he attacked the Ghar tribe. Wherever he goes, he was victorious.

Garron midway had chosen the young chief as an ally and now, he reaps the benefit. Sitting in his tent, he read the letter again. His face is complicated and he sighed

"This young chief is not a fool" he had said this once before and he now repeated it again. The fact that Aeryon call him, is already indicative that he is suspicious of his intention for sending Ayera there.

It is not uncommon to send their daughter ahead of time. But, Aeryon find something suspicious about it.

This also shows his attitude toward him. Aeryon does not trust him. Even though they are in an alliance, and they should be equal Garron knows the truth. He is very familiar with this dynamic of power

Aeryon is the superior here. Garron could see the shadow of someone from Aeryon. He could see the shadow of his father

Those bright eyes, those burning ambition....it is exactly just like his father. And the most important thing, Aeryon is still young

He has Belarion on his side, a great warrior born with innate strength, able to overwhelmed thousand of men alone.

Garron had seen him fight and he could see that Belarion is a great commander. Give him some time mand more experience he could lead a great army of the Great Steppe

And Aeryon also has Mayeux

That kid is of Roma and Marynku blood.

But unlike another half child, he inherited his father kentledge. Garron had never met the Roma but the Northern Great Steppe has many dealings and conflict with the Roma

The Roma has something called a Legion. And they are very powerful men. He did not know much other than what the few northern people tell him

Garron then put the letter on his side and he close his eyes

Aeryon had summoned him. And so, he must come.

If he were to make Aeryon lower down his guard, he must come.

Garron contemplates his upcoming meeting with Aeryon, feeling a mix of hesitation and urgency.

He recalls the previous encounter with the young chief, where he sensed Aeryon hostile intentions towards him.

"A killing intent. I would not mistake it" he thought to himself
