Way of Overlord
Chapter 44: New Information

Chapter 44: New Information

Aeryon frowned.

"this....hmmm....." Aeryon could only gesture like this.

Today is supposed to be a boring day.

The plan for today is simple for him. He would go to this empty area.

Check the attributes, and then allocate the attribute points.

Then trains his skill a bit and after that return back to the tribe and meet up with Mayeux, Belarion and his uncle to discuss something with them

He even planned how tonight was supposed to go. He prepared a speech and everything is perfect in his mind

He had everything planned out for today.

He even decided to try to ask the system to issue him a class quest.

Before he had chosen to be a warrior.

That is because he needs some strength to survive.

He did not choose tribe leader because his tribe is too small and he feared the kind of quest that the system would ask for the tribe leader requirement would be too hard toa accomplish without some strength.

In the end, Aeryon choose warrior because he believes he at least needs to have some ability to protect himself in case the tribe leader gig doesn’t really work out.

His tribe was small at the time. Even a unit of army of Northshire could pick off his tribe.

But now that his tribe has grown and with the strength he now has, at least he is able to protect himself, he decided to try to take the tribe leader class.

That...that is how today is supposed to go.

But now, as he reads the description, his plans all seems to be jumbled up in his mind. Because he now find something very interesting in the description of his intelligence attribute

"Hmm" once again he just this sound again

"Hmm" is an informal interjection typically used to express hesitation, thoughtfulness, or uncertainty.

It can convey different meanings depending on the context and the way it is expressed, such as pondering a question, indicating scepticism, or simply acknowledging understanding without providing a verbal response.

And his "hmm" expresses all of this.

He look again at the attribute window

Intelligence

Intelligence represents your aptitude for learning, and critical thinking abilities.

A high Intelligence attribute enhances your ability to analyse information, recall knowledge, and adapt to new situations.

It also improves your spellcasting capabilities if applicable, increases your skill points for acquiring new abilities, and enhances your effectiveness in using magical items

With increased intelligence, your character becomes a quick learner, absorbing knowledge and skills at an accelerated rate.

However, ,it must be noted that intelligence attribute itself does not mean true intelligence.

The host would not suddenly become super smart or having a transcendental intelligence. The system is bounded by the rules of this world

It make you focused and able to aid you in battle by pushing the limit of your body using your intelligence.

These attributes is merely to help the host understood the concepts of this world and aid in the procurement of more attribute points and skills. It should not be taken as representation of true intelligence.

Investing points into Intelligence allows you to unlock special abilities or talents that utilize your enhanced mental capabilities.

These abilities may include spellcasting proficiency, the ability to decipher ancient texts or languages, or the skill to create intricate inventions or magical items.

MAX STAT POINT: 100 stat point

The moment Aeryon read the description for intelligent attribute, he was shocked. Because the content of that description is very loaded

"I said it before and now I said it again. It seems I know nothing about this world

His intelligence is at 7 points.

Which is quite hight compared to his other attribute.

But if this is the measurement of intellect, then just putting all attribute point to this might make him the smartest man in the world.

But it seems that intelligence in this system does not mean like you suddenly become brainiac, able to anticipate every movement and every possibility like some kind of a Laplace Demon

"This description might be nothing if you think about it. But if you read it carefully, it almost seems like the system is giving me a hint. A hint of this world"

The wind of the Steppe blew his hair and he narrowed his eyes, once again reading the description of the attribute.

Before, he thought that he would simply check what the attributes description is and he had already decided to just speed read all the description.

But with this description that he is reading, he thought to himself

"It might be better to pay attention. Really pay attention. There might be hints like this in other description of the attribute." Today, he thought that his day would be very normal.

At least normal as yesterday. After all his life is not exactly a normal life.

But, after a while, he did find some kind of normalcy. Of course, Aeryon never expected that he would have a peaceful laidback life in this era.

This is not the kind of era where you could lay back and rest easy. It is an era of difficulty, and everything has to be fought for

Life has to be fought for. Any right you have is the right you fight for. Life is cheap in this era. And some are not worth anything

All of those rights people like to parade around in the future is non-existent in this era

Reading the description of the attribute somehow shows him that he still have many things to explore about this world

The part that first stands out for him is the [It also improves your spellcasting capabilities if applicable, increases your skill points for acquiring new abilities, and enhances your effectiveness in using magical items]

This description is what makes his heart skips a beat. The system probably would not lie to him

Which mean....magic existed. Aeryon did hear the Songs and there was tales that he remembered that the world is once a world of magic.

And combined that with his own knowledge about this world from the book he reads, this world does have magic in the past

After all, there are rumours of dragons.

But, when he reads the book, he remembers that while there is people who defied normal physical abilities of mortals in the story, like open man defending a bridge from an army, a feat of defeating thousand men alone, holding an iron gate with two hands.....there is no such thing as magic.

There is no person who could wave his hand and bring storms and thunders.

There is no person flying in the sky.

There is however instances of the heroes in Yan Empire who could jump from roof to roof like those in the martial art stories but that is the rare not the usual.

Aeryon knows this not because he possess the original Aeryon memory but because he reads it from the book

The book did not focus on what happened in the Great Steppe. Instead, it focused on what happened in Yan Empire and the war between the warlords.

As for its neighbours, it is only briefly mentioned and when it is mentioned it is written to minimize the role and just a few passages at most.

But from the book, he knows that there is such amazing people in the world.

However, even in the book there is no mention of people with magical power able to change the world or the element

The people who could fight a thousand men alone is usually born with such innate strength and not something that could be trained in easily.

Such man is valued because such men is rare.

It is not like there is thousands of men , warriors and generals that could rampage through the battlefield like that.

And there is way to contain such men. So, even though this world has some kind of strongman, it is not an invincible strongman that one man alone could change the world.

But now, magic?

Spellcasting capabilities?

Magical items?

Now ,even Aeryon is doubtful whether he truly transmigrated into the books he reads.

Because as far as he remembers, the book doesn’t say much about magic.

There was some Chapter in the stories that speak vaguely about such magic, like an Immortal living in a cave, or a wise old man that seems mysterious appearing and aiding the protagonist of the story, but there was never a direct show of magic.

Nor is there any mention of a truly magical weapon.

Some have weapons that are powerful and could cut steel like paper but it is not magical in nature.

Aeryon focused again, reading the description text.

Another thing was the lines where it said [The system is bounded by the rules of this world]

So, the system also has a limit. But what kind of limit.

And then there is this sentence.

[These attributes is merely to help the host understood the concepts of this world and aid in the procurement of more attribute points and skills]

He understood the second part about how this attribute helps him to get more attribute points and skills.

But what understood the concept of this world? What concept? Aeryon had read many books.

So, he has some crazy ideas in his head right now

"Rules? Laws? Of the world?" he muttered to himself. For a moment, he fell into contemplation about this world

But after a few minutes of trying to figure things out, Aeryon still did not figure out anything and he sighed.

He look at the sky above him.

The clouds are sparse, the sky is blue and the vast expanse of the steppe in front of him, making him feel the world are so large.

And now, there is a mystery in front of him. But it is also a mystery he knows he could not unravel.....at least right now he doesn’t have enough information to make sense of anything

"Maybe, someday" he mutters to himself.
