There is silence in the tent for a moment before Norgai sigh

"I want to be a hero that leads a great army but it is a pity that life does not always give you what you want" he said all of these and then look at Jayeux.

How is that for an answer?’

Hearing this Norgai was shocked at first, then he widened his eyes and his face tunes to anger

He pointed his finger and his entire body seems to be shaking in anger.

He pointed toward Jayeux and if one could see his red face right now and his mouth that is trembling, it seems there is a lot he wanted to say but the only words that come out of his mouth is one word of rebuke that contains all of his anger

There is anger in his tone and his eyes is red. He nearly got up because of his anger. The guards outside wanted to enter.

But Jayeux was not intimidated. He stands there

Waiting for Norgai action.

Norgai is huffing and puffing, but he did not call his guard inside.

Jayeux just look at Norgai.

It seems Norgai is really pushed to the brink and really have no brilliant ideas.

If he have any ideas, and no other way, Norgai probably would have kick him out of the tent

Knowing this, he look at Norgai face and then bows slightly

Norgai calm himself down and then Jayeux said

"You want to be a powerful general that leads tens of thousands of horsemen across the Steppe, create an immortal achievement and have your name to be spoken off in folklore and in the tales of the storytellers"

Jayeux paused for a second and then added

"You want to save your tribe and escape from the predicament of being surrounded on all sides and wanted to protect your tribe from being destroyed"

"Isn’t this what you want? As a strategist, this is the strategy I created for you"

Norgai close his eyes for a second and then he thought about it. If there is one thing one should praise him, it is his ability to keep check of his emotion

"yes, surrender to Brolgadhr" Hearing this Norgai suddenly stopped. Then he look at Jayeux again this time with a calmer expression.

He thought Jayeux would ask him to sturdier to Cha Ner Ul or the Vihur tribe up north. He was surprised to see that Jayeux ask him to surrender to Brolgadhr

"Why Brolgadhr?"

Hearing this Jayeux smiles

The bait has been laid out and the prey has eaten it.

Smiling Jayeux continue

"When four tribes is in an alliance position, the alliance is easily broken. Because the power could become equal. Ultar and Nergui tribe is caught in Chagai tribe pace"

Norgai think of it and he nodded. He could understand. Before it is three. Three is a divine number in some Ashana tomes

And three is also perfect in a way.

They could ally with Nergui to attack Ultar.

Then when Ulcer is settled, they could attack Nergui and created a two-tribe alliance.

But Norgai did not want to surrender to Cha Ner Ul.

That is an unbearable thought for him

Not Chagai tribe!

How could he surrender to people he did not recognize as a hero.

Everyone definition of a hero is different. Aeryon for example regarded people like Chadha and Garron as hero of the times

People like Aeryon Belarion, Dama, Katakura, Ota, Valgrun, Karnain, these are heroes in the hearts of the warriors of the Steppe.

And Norgai is more warrior than chief.

He recognise heroes like Aeryon, people who overcome difficulty and rises against their circumstances.

People like Belarion who uses his strength to defeat all enemies and shakes the heart of any evildoers.

Ota who is the hero of his tribe. Dama who conquered the mountain tribes and force them to obey.

Katakura who fought all the heroes in the East and won.

Heroes, all of them

But Chadha?

His pride did not allow him to admit Chadha as a hero. And in his eyes, Chadha done nothing great in his personal achievement.

In a way, if Aeryon hear this, he would say, that Norgai think more like a warrior than he thinks as a chief.

It is a great trait if he is a warrior that fight against other tribe, but easily manipulated if he is a chief.

To Norgai, Chagai tribe is only strong after they created the alliance. Before that, in the past, even they have to pay respect to his men and fear his might

Yes, he knew Chadha himself is a strong warrior and in the past he protects the tribe. his father once said that in his youth Chadha is a great warrior that stabilizes the tribe and he is one of the reason that Chagai tribe still exist

But he is also old. And he is more fond of plots and scheme. In the eyes of Norgai, this sullied the warrior honour.

What he didn’t know, all of those old tribes that manage to last a long time are all led by cunning wolves.

Young wolves have their way and old wolves also has their own way.

They are more patient.

They are not as fast but they know when to chase and when to give up the chase and how to gain more with minimal effort.

And all of these old wolves were once young wolves.

They also have a period of time where they are arrogant and look down on the world.

It is only after surviving many things and experiencing many things that they really look at the world with a calm attitude
