Chapter 366: Human Hearts Are the Hardest To Fathom

Aeryon did not have any hope that he could convince Ayera

After all, he is not naïve enough to think that just by talking with her, would make her be convinced of him, and his word alone is not enough to douse the ambition in Garron

The heart of people is the hardest to fathom. And ambition of someone like Garron could not be doused with a few words.

Just like him. He would rather die than abandon the ambition hidden in his heart. He expected the same thing for Garron

They are not enemies. But they clearly aren’t friends. But even so, it did not stop Aeryon from admiring his father-in-law.

Someone with his age, and his position, with all the disadvantage that he is suffering but never lose hope and keep moving forward, this kind of determination that not many people have even in his time.

A determined man could move the heaven and earth!

Tonight...it is just a discussion between the Kan and the wife of the Kan.

He sighed again; his sigh seems drawn out. Then he mutters

"If your father is really at his end, I would help him. You did not need to worry about this. Regardless of why this alliance was forged, I am a man of my words. As long as your tribe does not betray my tribe , I would not betray your tribe"

Aeryon could make such promises now.

Not because he trusted Garron nor is he moved by Ayera.

But is just simply because right now he have enough power and enough confidence not to be afraid of the Utgard tribe regardless of what they were planning to do.

Since that is the case, why not try to increase the goodwill of Ayera and her tribe with this promise.

He himself still did not know how the ending would be between Ayera and him.

She is a victim of political marriage but to say she is living a bad life, that is quite unfair to him since he treated her well.

And to the people of this world, arranged marriage is not that bad.

Because most noble families, or chief families in the Great Steppe would marry their daughter to man that could protect themselves and their daughters.

In a world chaotic as these, where life is as cheap as a penny, having such a man on your side would fill the women with great sense of security.

Men wanted woman to guard their home and make the peace in their mind and the woman wanted a man that could protect her and her family.

Love could be cultivated. Marriage in the tribe is sacred and compromise is necessary on both parts

People think love is just like in the fairy-tale where one look at another and fall in love at first sight.

Is there such a love like that? There is. Passionate, burning love. But as fiery as it burns, when it extinguishes all it leaves is smoke.

Love alone is not enough. The desire to be together is not enough. Love fades. Desires goes away.

Love should be cultivated.

Desires should be rekindled.

When one arrange a marriage, there is this understand that both husband and wife should compromise and learn from each other.

Every day is a new experience for the newly wedded. Every touch is electrifying. Every gaze cultivate desire. Every gesture of kindness cultivate love.

Because the men are naïve, and the women are chaste, such experience could be experienced.

Even those warriors of Aeryon, who could fight and kill in battlefield, most of them are very naïve in the relations of men and women.

This however of course does not apply to noble families

In the Great Steppe, Aeryon could be considered a noble family.

Even more so now, that he control large part of the lower southern Great Steppe. For noble families, marriage is not so simple.

But even so, Aeryon tries to make marriage life for Ayera quite comfortable.

Is it because he is so generous that he is not afraid Ayera making connections with the warriors or sending information to her father?

No. Aeryon is not so selfish that he would use his generosity to trade with the life of the people of his tribe.

That is selfishness of the highest kind.

But instead, it was because he is strong.

Because he is strong and his tribe is strong he could afford to give Ayera all those access without worrying.

If Ayera tribe even have the possibility of attacking his tribe and his people, Aeryon would not be so generous and he would not treat Ayera this kindly.

Aeryon tries to be kind.

But he would not do it if that kindness leads to greater evil

Ayera heard Aeryon promise and she did not know how to answer.

And Aeryon himself did not care whether Ayera answers him or not. And for a moment the silence between them dragged on

"this is enough for tonight. Let us go to sleep" Aeryon said as he slowly lays back down onto the bed.

Ayera was stunned for a moment before she too follows her husband lead and goes to sleep.

After the conversation, they quickly went to sleep.

Though, they sleep as they did the day before, the air between this pair has changed slightly.

There is certain feelings involved and affection and deception is hard to distinguish.

The night is long and the years are long. Who knows how the heart would change and whose heart would change?

The human heart is the hardest to fathom

...

Brolgadhr tribe is as peaceful as ever.

However, in the west, battle are raging and tribes are fighting for their lives.

In the east, the Esbizuk and Kazan tribe is attacking the Estkazan tribe and who knows what Sordkazan tribe would do now that those tribes are attacking a tribe that is so close to them

There is a chance that the Sordkazan tribe would also enter. The Kazan tribe and its fragment shows sign of uniting

But who would unite the Kazan tribe? Is it the Kazan tribe that claimed to be the most orthodox? Or would it be the four offshoots of the Kazan?

Or maybe someone else would take advantage of what had happened and took over the entire Kazan tribe?

And what about the movement in the north?

The Vihur tribe is riding south and the whole north is alarmed

Will anyone take advantage of the current situation in the north or will the peace hold in the north?

There is speculation that the Vihur tribe would clash with the chief of Brolgadhr to put down the young chief into his place.

This slogan is spread around the north.

Why such slogan is announced?

It is because Vihur tribe is trying to contain the other tribes in the north.

"I am doing this for all of us, so don’t break the promise and do not attack me when we should be united!" this is basically the implied meaning of the Vihur tribe chief.

Because Aeryon action has now slowly make the tribes in the north fearful and begins looking at this young chief with more wariness in their heart.

It is clear that the young chief of Brolgadhr did not intend to stop.

And now the west also seems to have the handiwork of the Brolgadhr tribe. Vihur tribe march to the north, is it simply the Vihur tribe chief decision? Is he not move also by other external pressure?

Since the Vihur tribe is the largest tribe in the north, they also have their own responsibility to protect the north.

Twenty thousand horseman and many more follows the Vihur tribe down.

The whole of the Southern Great Steppe seems to be in a state of war. Only the Brolgadhr tribe, this initiator of this warring period seems to be totally at peace right now.

Come morning, would the peace be broken?

Come morning, will the horses of the Brolgadhr rides again?

The moon shine brightly, the wind breeze gently passing by and the green grass sways echoing the melody of the Great Steppe

The world is crazy and heroes and villains rises, the warlords surrounded by beauty, ambitious men aspire to do great deeds, the curtain to a great era is slowly opened

....

It has been two weeks since the battle begins in the west and there is news coming from the west, that the decisive battle would be fight on the Bulghar Hill

Aeryon assemble his men in the war tent.

The war tent is spacious and there is many new accessories and things in the war tent now than when it was first constructed.

When his residence is finished he would move all of this meeting into the War Hall. There is three lines in front of him. He sitting in the center line, his throne and his seat has the best view of the entire tent.

On his left is his new warriors and on his right is his civil official which consisted of Mayeux and a few other Elders and chief of the conquered tribes.

He sits on his throne and look at the men and he smiles. He felt that he had moved quite high in life.

There is Mukhulai, Burchu and Belarion.

These three are among the old veterans of the tribe and have the biggest say in the tribe other than him

They are also many new warriors that have joined him.
