Aeryon look at Ayera and he almost wanted to laugh. Ayera right now look like a devoted wife, and a demure and submissive woman.

But how could he not know about this woman recent actions.

Aeryon only smiles looking at this scene. Then he greeted her

"Ayera, I have returned home"

"yes, my lord" Aeryon look at her with a smile and laugh

"Hahaha!"

She still shows like she did not know about anything. Her face expression looking at him like she was puzzled

But Aeryon is not interested in playing games with her.

Maybe on other days, he would let it go and play along with her.

But not tonight.

He has half a heart to play along with her but then when he remembered some of the things that Mayeux had told him before, he thinks he should made it clear to her about something.

And.....after all, she is his wife.

There is a brief silence for a second. Aeryon did not quite know how to approach it but that hesitation on how to approach the matter is only for a brief second.

Since, he wanted to be straightforward, be straightforward! He thought to himself. The laughter ceased but there is still a smile on the corner edge of his mouth

Then he ask

"I heard your father is quite in a bind?" The tone might seem like a question but it is clear that it is something that is certain and definite.

Ayera hearing this halted what she is doing and she looks at Aeryon. Then her eyes turns sharp

"Then what will you do?’ Ayera herself did not want to pretend that long.

It is useless.

At least other people would try to play along with her.

But how could Ayera not know what kind of a man her husband was.

Most of the time, he would play along. Since he did not play along tonight, it means no matter how she acts, he would not play along with it.

Since that is the case, there is no need to act

Even though he did not treat her like a married woman, he did treat her like his wife. And even allowed her to stay beside him while he is reviewing report.

Aeryon chuckles and simply said

"isn’t this good for your father? Now, your father have another powerful ally other than me"

He said like he knows nothing about the dynamic of relationship between the Kazan and the Utgard tribe.

"I do not pretend to be stupid, so you also should not pretend to be an idiot"

Aeryon laughed and then he sat near Ayera bed.

He looks at her. Looking at her eyes and then he laughed

"If you have problem, you should tell your husband"

Ayera hearing this suddenly felt her heart beat out of a rhythm for a second. And the moment that heart beats strangely like that, Ayera feel dangers.

This is not a feeling she should be feeling and a feeling she should be harbouring.

She thought of those words she had heard in the House of the Dead. But the voices disappears quickly as she focus on the man in front of her

"What will you do now that you know?"

Aeryon chuckles

"It seems my wife are very wary of me. It seems that your father is in a bind. But Kazan tribe did not yet broke their alliance and it did not seem that the Kazan tribe is about to break the alliance between your father and them. Why the worry?"

He paused for a second

"The Kazan tribe is only seeking more allies which is understandable considering that the word is uncertain right now. There is no change at all" Ayera look at her husband and admire Aryon ability to pretend oblivious.

"And now the only tribe that the Utgard could rely on is the Brolgadhr tribe" she said it sarcastically.

The meaning of the world is obvious. It means that the Kazan is now alienated from the Utgard tribe.

Aeryon smiles and nodded

"Is that such a bad thing?"

"my tribe is now very powerful. I wonder why your tribe is so averse in relying on my tribe. If your father send for help, I would not mind sending a few warriors to help your father"

"And what is the price for that help?" Ayera ask.

For a moment there is silence between these pair of husband and wife. And Aeryon smiles and said

"Is there anything in this world that does not have a price?" but before Ayera could say anything Aeryon simply said

"However, it is my duty as the son in law to help my father-in-law. If your father is in trouble, do not forget the Brolgadhr tribe could render him aid"

Then Aeryon went silent

Ayera understood that if Aeryon help her father, that help is like opening Brolgadhr tribe a door to meddle in the matter of her father tribe

All she knows that the more she did this, the more affection she feels for Aeryon.

She thought only after consummating the wedding, that they would be intimate and be more affectionate.

Then she could manipulate Aeryon.

But she never got the chance to sleep with him but still it was like she was the one being manipulated.

The more she interacts with him, the more affection she felt

She massages his shoulder and he would nod when she hits the right spot

After around fifteen minutes, he stops her

"It is enough. Let’s go to sleep now" He waves his hand and a gust of wind sweeps the candles and the wicks and the entire tent become pitch black.

He took the blanket and covers himself up and then put his head on the pillow. Ayera slowly put her head on the pillow beside him

There is only silence between these two people. But Aeryon is not yet asleep. And Ayera is also silent.

The silence continues.

And Aeryon is trying to sleep.

But tonight, sleeps does not come easily for him. Nor does it come easily for Ayera. It is like they have things on their mind.

Aeryon is thinking about the west.

And Ayera is thinking about her father.

And her feelings.
