Divide and conquer.

With a unified base, fighting the divided tribes and chiefs of the other regions of the Great Steppe, it would be simple.

The only threat would be if the other regions of the Great Steppe unify itself.

But they also analyse this and it is very hard for the other region to eliminate their tribal grudges and their tribal rivalries.

There is not many Aeryon in the world. Especially even more so in the Greta Steppe where the tribalism is strong.

That was the plan.

And the first step that leads to this grand cause is on the verge of being completed. So, how could Aeryon and Mayeux not get happy?

After a few second, Mayeux could finally clams himself down and look at Aeryon and nodded

"Lord, your ambition will be realized" Aeryon shook his head and grip Mayeux hand tighter

"No...our ambition will be realized’ hearing this Mayeux smiles and close his eyes for a second before he nodded

Then he shakes his head like he wanted to shake the excitement that is taking hold over him now and then opening his eyes he look back at Aeryon

"But now my lord, is the time for the Khagai forces to move forward. A swift attack is necessary. I want to propose a plan"

Aeryon hearing this nodded. He was so excited that he forgot that the battle for the western region is not yet finished.

"Please" Aeryon release Mayeux hand and gesture him to present his plan.

Mayeux then suggested a plan. Aeryon after listening it nodded.

Mayeux quickly send a message toward Valgrun, Duhai tribe chief Durka and Zlata tribe Zanbata

Now that the advantage is on the Khagai tribe side there is no need for too much scheme and plots.

When the strength overwhelms everything, too much strategies and too much scheme seems superfluous.

Mayeux plan is simple.

Ota would keep advancing, and inform the small tribes and the warriors clans that the Bolghar tribe is in ruins and could no longer offer resistance.

What Mayeux is doing is spreading rumours.

At the same time, Durka and Zanbata must aid Valgrun with all their might and spread into three forces to attack all the small tribes and make them follow their forces.

Zlata and Duhai tribe would be helping Khagai tribe and must not use the name of the Kan.

And then force the Bolghar tribe to fight on the Bulghar hill.

Mayeux seems to even create a plan to use the terrain of the hill to defeat the Bolghar tribe and decide the west

When Aeryon learns of Mayeux plans of how to defeat the Bolghar tribe, Aeryon could not help but think that while the plan is quite simple, it is also the most effective.

What Aeryon always like about Mayeux is that while he is idealistic, many of his ideas is very practical and just like Ota the Great Warrior of the Khagai never disappoint Valgrun, Mayeux has never disappointed him

"Mayeux, I leave the matter of the west to you. Whatever you need I would provide. No matter how many people you want, I would give it to you" Aeryon is basically trusting Mayeux to move the forces of the tribe for him

Mayeux hearing this great favour bestowed to him actually wanted to kneel and wanted Aeryon to take back the order.

The trust is heavy and the responsibility is even heavier.

"My Kan. Please take back the order" he was about to kneel but before he could kneel., Aeryon hold him up

Aeryon shakes his head

He sighed and then look at the ceiling of his tent. There is a moment of silence before Aeryon suddenly said

"In this world, who knows my ambition and shares my ambition other than you. In the vast Great Steppe, how many people would believe my desire and ambition?"

He paused for a second and chuckles

"Instead, they would laugh at me. Do you remember the expression of my uncle face when I told him what I desire?"

"It is good enough that he did not laugh. But I believe that if people knows what I desire, they would call me a fool. Because no one.....no one ever did it before"

"But you...you believe. And you believe it with all your heart"

"You and me, we share the same ambition and looking at the same path. The others respected strength. I could not trust them. Because when they are strong, they would challenge me"

"They are warriors and they think like warrior do. I don’t blame them for thinking like warriors do. That is in their nature and that is our culture. The strong should lead"

He paused for a second and then added

Warriors only wanted a worthy opponent. But a leader need a different method. You understand this. Only you, in this tribe understand this. You are an outsider even when you are amidst of our people. And I am outsider because my thoughts are different from them. We, two outsiders, shouldn’t we trust each other?"

Aeryon saying this much, talking this much is basically admitting to Mayeux, I trust you with my life.

Giving him the power to move the army, is basically giving Mayeux his life.

If Mayeux has bad intention, he could use this army to take over the tribe

Aeron could not live in this world if he doesn’t trust anyone.

Not trusting anyone is as stupid as trusting everyone. Because no one lives in this world alone.

A suspicious ruler harms the wise and talented minister. Trusting rulers harms the people

Because suspicious rulers are suspicious in nature, even if loyal people give wise advice, because of his suspicious, such minister would not live long.

And if all talented and wise man that gives advice is killed, then how could such a ruler rules the people and brings people prosperity?

A trusting ruler is easily manipulated by treacherous minsters.

And who would suffer?

It is the people.

The trust that a trusting rulers gives to his subordinate would only leads to unchecked greed among minister.

The wise and virtuous one would be side-lined by the corrupt and the unvirtuous and in the end, the one that suffers would be the common people

Hence, suspicious ruler harms the wise and talented minister, and a trusting ruler harms the common people.

He had observed Mayeux for along time and he had interacted with him and he trusted his judgement.

And if his judgement is wrong, then he could only accept that he is only on this level.

If he could not even judge a person right, then why make a fool and compete for the world?

It is better to become a small chief and live life in peace.

Mayeux did not know what to say and he is choked with emotion.

For a moment there is silence. Aeryon is still looking at him and then Mayeux understand. Aeryon is showing his trust toward him and he is not budging. He is determined to delegate some of his power to him.

This kind of leader.....how could he not be loyal to such a person

Since Aeryon did not allow him to kneel he just bows his head and simply said

"I will not let you down my Kan" Aeryon laughs

"Now, go. When the west is taken, inform me and let us feast that day" And Aeryon laugh as Mayeux exited the tent.

Aeryon return back to his tent, his heart is happier than before. He did not even move many of his soldiers and his city did not even have to do too many things to support the west. Even before the battle between the Khagai and Bolghar begins, he thought that he would have to mobilize his own army.

Mayeux and him agreed that unless the battle goes bad for the Khagai tribe, they would not interfere.

This is because Aeryon did not want the entire western border tribes to have a justifications against him.

If they see him supporting Khagai, they would surely think that this is his machination

Of course, they would not have any evidence but they would have suspicion and they would send help to Bolghar tribe thus making the conquest of Khagai become even harder.

The network of connection between the western border tribe is something that is weird and could not be understood by other tribes.

The only one that understood the power of this bond, is the western border tribes itself.

Even Valgrun suggested to him that unless it is necessary, he did not need to send his main army and only send Zlata and Duhai tribe to help.

As long as he did not move his main army, to the other western border tribes, this is an internal matter of the western border tribes and not the invasion of another force.

Now, with Ota victory, Aeryon could let down this worry. And with Mayeux helping them, Aeryon is feeling secure about his victory in the west

As he enters his tent, his eyes narrow

"She is not asleep" he thought to himself. On the corner of the tent, there is his wife, knitting something.

If Aeryon had to guess, it must be a winter clothing. Most of the woman in the tribe would do such a thing if they have time.

But, is Ayera the kind of woman that have so much time to knit for him?

He could not help but sigh

"This kind of woman is like a rose. Beautiful to look at but full of thorns."
