These are the advantages of time and the era that the Great Steppe is living in.

As long as one tribe could break the chains around them and embark in an ambitious endeavour led by an ambitious leader, they could quickly raise an army and swell in size.

There is all kinds of factor that allowed a small tribe to swell like this.

The most biggest factor is the weakening of the Yan dynasty presence in the border.

Then there is a lack of unifying figure which is fulfilled by Aeryon

Mayeux remembers the history of the past and knows out of the three factors the most important factor is momentum

When the Yellow Turban rebellion begins it also started with a group of people but then millions of people rises up

Why?

Because relying on momentum.

It is the same for Aeryon.

The Steppe had long not have anyone who wanted to unify the Steppe. They all guard their three-inch land and did not think of the threat around them.

Yindu in the east, Western Zhou in the West, Yan in the South, Roma in the North.

Aeryon relies on momentum to intimidate the tribe around them and then when that momentum reaches the peak, Aeryon releases it.

When he won the battle against the Xewa and Ghar tribe, he organized the warriors and then when he managed to gain the alliance with the Utgard tribe and married the Viper daughter, the momentum of the tribe reaches the peak and expansion begins in the earnest.,

Most warriors bow and kneel toward his lord because they all could see a purpose and a chance to rise up in the world

With merit one could rise in their station of life and with war and battle, riches and fame and fortune awaited them

A grand purpose, benefits and fulfilment is offered by his lord so how could people not flock to the tribe and how could the tribe not overwhelmed all the small tribes

Mayeux himself was there as he saw how Brolgadhr tribe rise so fast like a meteor streaking the night sky.

All of it is based on momentum and using it wisely

Aeryon knows when to attack and when to recuperate, knows when to exert the tribe and knows when to retreat.

Victory after victory raises the confidence of the tribe and cause the other tribe wary.

Fear is also a strength and because of that fear the Brolgadhr tribe could now sat firmly in the lower part of the Southern Steppe and could even have the courage to plan for the west.

All of it rely on momentum.

And that is how the tribe could become so big in just a couple of months and Aeryon and Mayeux now has slow he momentum so that they could organize the things in the tribe

And because of that, the scenery of the Brolgadhr tribe today is very different from the past and that is not exactly bad.

At least it is not to him.

And as Mayeux walk around the city he reached the bazaar near the entrance of the city. And adjacent to this bazaar was the caravanserai

It is a large, fortress-like inn that provided shelter and respite for the caravans that journeyed across the thousands of miles road

Its courtyard was filled with camels, horses, and mules, their saddlebags bulging with goods from far-off lands.

Travelers and merchants gathered here to exchange news and stories from their journeys

There was already a prototype of this kind of structure before in the large tribe. But this is mostly on the Vihur tribe

Because most of the merchants is coming from the far north and moving to the south and going toward Yan

But with Aeryon planning, the city is now slowly becoming a trade of hub for people who wanted to resupply or buying things and selling things

And not all are traded with gold.

Barter is still a legitimate method of trading

Mayeux then walk toward the residential quarters.

He did not buy many necessities as most of the things he bought are mostly trinkets.

If it’s a necessity he could send his servants to buy it for him.

He just wanted to see how the city have changed, interact with the people on the streets, see how the streets are managed and just by walking around the market, it make some bad elements no dare do it for now.

Mayeux knows the supervision of the market is not yet proposed

However, from the things that he had heard from his Kan, the Kan does want to improve domestic security but right now, the more Important thing is for them to create a foundation for their ambition and vision for the tribe first

and expansion of the tribe toward the west is necessary and certain things have to take a back seat for a while .

The other reason he is walking the market and the city is because he is curious.

Even though he had heard that it had changed, Mayeux is not always out of his tent.

Even more so when Aeryon suddenly up and left the tribe and all the matters of the tribe fell onto his lap making him unable to even go out of his tent unless it is already dark at night

Now that Aeryon has returned, he could walk for a while to see the development of the city.

The more developed it become the more Mayeux feel something in his heart.

It is like seeing the effort that he had put in blooming in beautiful colours. That is what he is feeling right now

The residential quarters of the city is not far from most of the commercial centers. It is spread out in a more orderly fashion

The homes were a mix of traditional felt yurts and more permanent wooden and adobe structures

Aeryon had said that he must made the people of the Stepp in here at least settled. Some of them could settle and some of them could always maintain the way of life of their ancestors.

But they must remember that they are the members of the Brolgadhr tribe.

Aeryon method is different than other chiefs method.

Most tribe would attack a tribe and gained the tribe vassalage and when they went to war the vassal is duty and honour bound to pledge their soldiers, their warriors to the bidding of their lord

Aeryon chooses a different method.

He crushes a tribe, and that tribe young is to join them

And Aeryon did not discriminate between his tribe and other tribes. Instead, those who make merits would be rewarded, those who make mistakes shall be punished.

This is in fact a method of centralizing power. It is slower but the effect is that the governance become even more powerful

Any regime that wanted to expand needed unity and needed a central power.

In times of peace, certain decentralization is necessary but at times of war, of chaotic times, of times of great uncertainty, there is power in unity and there is power in centralizing power and able to organize people to follow one order

The only tribe that are vassals to Aeryon right now is mostly tribes in the west like the Khagai, the Duhai and the Zlata tribe.

This also shows that while Aeryon centralize certain parts of the Southern Great Steppe, he decentralize some of the others.

Those he centralize is the weak tribe that is like weed being waved around by the wind.

And those he vassalize is tribe who have long legacy and strong military or strong warriors

Aeryon and Mayeux both knows that not all things could be perfect and any great leader should know to live with the imperfection when the means is insufficient.

They also need patience and they also need to match ambition with reality.

Most small tribes however is integrated with Aeryon tribe by marriage with Aeryon relatives or the original tribes member of the Brolgadhr tribe or by other means.

As for the tribes near Brolgadhr tribe they are mostly crushed and integrated into the Brolgadhr tribe by force.

The method that Aeryon had choose delays some matter but it also made Aeryon tribe more stable and more powerful

Mayeux shakes his head trying to not bring work in his mind right now as he look at different places around him.

And he notices the new residential center not far away from the bazaar.

It is not exactly close but it is not that far either.

Mayeux could see some people is moving their luggage and their items into the houses there with the Yan servants
