He looks at the leather canvas and nodded to himself as he tied another so this leather and bamboo slips he had wrote it on put aside

If Aeryon could see what Jayeux had written he probably would praise this young man as possessing the eye to see the future. Aeryon had once deduced that maybe just like in history, that Xiahou Cao which is just probably based on Cao would rule the world.

And then the Rebellion of the Five Barbarians would ravage the empire.

In this world, it probably would be even more brutal considering that the grudges in the hearts of the Great Steppe would not be satisfied until avenge the matter of the past even more so if the people of Yan keep oppressing the people

Because it is no longer about grudges and hatred.

It is about survival. Hate runs deep into the blood of Yan people. They only know how to hate.

Then even if the Great Steppe wanted to be peaceful they couldn’t. Because even if they do not attack, these Yan general would attack the Great Steppe

Hence, it become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Since the Yan attack, the Great Steppe had to retaliate.

And since they said that the Steppe tribes would raid them and that is the reason they attacked, so the Great Steppe tribe would really do it.

Since you said I will attack you and raid you and that is the justification for sending the army to slaughter my mother, my grandmother, my children and my brothers and my sisters, then I will fulfill your desire and would attack you and raid you and kill your mother, your grandmother, your children, and your brothers and sisters.

When the Yan raided the Great Steppe and kills millions of people, slaughtering tribes without thinking, killing the wise man and woman of the people of the Steppe, why would they not think that one day the people of the barbarians as they so "affectionally" called the people of the Great Steppe would take revenge?

Jayeux had finished writing all he wanted. then he got up from his spot. He go out from his tent, look at the sky, look at the stars

"For some reason, looking at the stars in the Great Steppe is different from seeing it in Yan" he mutters to himself. He looks at the stars above and smile.

He has never been so free and he has never been so unconstrained in his life. In his life in Yan, living in the Ji family, he live worse than animals.

He has been humiliated, tortured and abused because his mother was a "barbarian"

And he had seen the way the Yan people treated the barbarians.

Just because these barbarians did not speak the same language and have different culture than them, they thought of these barbarians to have no culture and dumb.

So, they in their arrogance wanted to destroy the language of the Great Steppe and replace the culture of their people with Yan culture

Yan culture is selfish.

That is his evaluation.

They worship gods not because they believe something is sacred but because they wanted benefits.

In the teachings of the Skyfather, Those who did not make an effort would not be blessed. What it means that only after trying your best, would you leave it to the deities and gods above

It is not to pray from morning to night, hoping that food would come down from the Heaven but to work and to make effort, to think and to ponder on how to get food.

For the Skyfather loves those who makes an effort.

Mortals have mortal trials. And the world is a huge examination and the choices you make is the question that the deity ask you.

Yan people calculate gain and losses and lack backbone and spine. There is only a few that would die for righteousness but even then when they chose to die for righteousness what they seek is not righteousness but fame and fortune after their death.

Righteousness is not the reason they would die and censor the Emperor, but so that if they die, their descendant would have the halo of fame and fortune of the predecessor.

Fame and fortune is the reason not righteousness and all those shining example of morals on the book.

Even in the book of the Great Teacher, who knows who many words had been modified, how many stories was altered and how many stories was hidden

Jayeux look at the star and he could not help but sigh. He is young but when he sigh it is like an old man who ahs seen all the vicissitudes of life.

Jayeux laughs at himself

Then he laughs again.

This time he laughs at the world.

And then he goes to his horse, tied to a wooden pole. Jumping up clumsily he nearly fall down back to the ground.

But he steadied himself and then pulls the reins and then with one gentle kick on the side, his horse rides out from the half complete city

That night, Jayeux leaves the Brolgadhr tribe.

Aeryon returns back to the tribe in a conspicuous manner.

It took him around fifteen days all in all from going out of the tribe to return back, almost half a month.

It took him more time to return back than it is time for him to go to that cave

And the first thing he did after returning is check the army. In the fifteen days that he is not in the tribe, the city northern and western side is almost finished.

The city wall is high enough and there is villages forming around the city.

There is an effort to widen the gap on the stream so that the water from the Empatarah River would be more numerous.

Aeryon also check the water container systems that he had proposed to Mayeux before he went away and water is now sufficient for the tribe.

Then he also checks on his wife. Ayera is settling down as his wife and is doing the job of pacifying the wife of the other tribes leader.

She also acts as mediator on the womanly problems in the tribe. Aeryon met Belarion and ask him a few things about his training

Mayeux and some other elders is quite surprised with Aeryon sudden attitude.

The moment he returns instead of holing up in his war tent, Aeryon seems to want to check everything in the tribe.

It is known to the people of the tribe; the Kan rarely calls upon a meeting. In a week, there is only two meetings.

Every week, people would tell the Kan the problem of the tribes, what they want, what they are lacking, the threats and opportunities and the Kan would listen to them and give them order.

Sometimes, he would also ask advice from the Elders and other experienced men to aid him.

But most of the time, the Kan would not go out of his way to check the people this way.

Aeryon after finishing his tour of the tribe returns back to his personal tent, separate from the tent that he shares with his wife and separate from the tent where he would ponder his next move.

Mayeux is in his tent and he is reading something. Sometimes, he would pick up bamboo slips. Other times, he would pick up leather skins. Each of these has something written on it.

And each time Mayeux read the words written on these things, he could not help but sigh

"Piercing insight, poisonous schemes, and the talent to assist the monarch"

This is Mayeux evaluation of Jayeux after reading the words he had written. He put down the bamboo slips on his low table and sighed again

He looks at the sprawling leather skins and bamboo slips that is scattered all around him and he shakes his head

"from methods to rule, to strategic thought, to political governance and to poisonous scheme and dangerous plots, Jayeux is a talent that would shock the world. It is a pity.....a pity... that it is too sharp, too hard to bend, too emotional and too stubborn"

Mayeux could see even though Jayeux has his own school of thought and his thought on ruling and power, his schemes and plot are exceptional, there is still many things that Jayeux fail to consider.

It is not that he is not a genius, it is just that he is too young.

There is some experience one could not teach through books. And while Mayeux believe that the hard experience of life had shaped Jayeux, he only had seen one part of life.

He sees the darkness and he sees the evil.

And so, he denies the other side of it.

And that is not wise
