Chapter 213: Three Victories
Chapter 213: Three Victories
There is an ambition in Aeryon heart. In the original Aeryon heart. James had been thinking about it for quite a while
He did not need to raise armies or fight for fame and fortune. But why did he do it? Was it only because he felt that he owes something to Aeryon?
Thinking about it, it is also true.
Now, he is in this world, he could not remember how he die.
But he felt the emotions of Aeryon and even though the original Aeryon might have died, there is this feeling that he is not entirely gone.
After all, James occupies his body, and he wanted to fulfill Aeryon wish. Aeryon wish is simple. He wanted to protect his tribe.
And James insight however sees a vaster sight.
Aeryon wanted to protect his tribe, make his tribe powerful but Aeryon wanted to conquer the whole Steppe, to rule the world and to create immortal achievement
"What is my father intention and ambition?" he ask himself.
The Elders also doesn’t know because while his father Rakarys is generous, it does not mean he trusted everyone and from what Aeryon learns from the other elders, his father usually keep any secrets close to his heart
Aeryon did not really know how to judge his father.
Did he have a more profound plan back then?
Or did he not?
Is the opening up of the tribes with other tribes is a plan that have many other connections? Did the merchants caravans that he had set up is just a layout to a bigger plan?
Aeryon doesn’t know.
This is what happens when people dies.
The potential that they had is snuffed.
And things that people don’t know remains unknown.
How many stories buried six feet under the ground, scattered in the air and thrown in the water?
How many secrets end up in the stomach of beast, end up in the mountains peak, ended up rotting in the vast plains?
"Hah" Aeryon could only sigh at this.
And then he shakes his head as he opens his eyes. He closes his eyes hoping to forget all of the complicated stuff.
But now that the more he did not want to think, the more distracting thought came to him.
"There is something undeniable though. My father, whatever his flaws manage to keep the tribe surviving in the Great Steppe. That alone shows his ability"
Aeryon could rely on the system to be confident and bold in his action but his father did not have all of that.
The tribe itself is very small and it is very hard to stage a comeback.
The fact that his father managed to make his survived is already impressive enough
The fact he did not have a system, but managed to keep it all together is more impressive in Aeryon mind
Aeryon for example, even if he did not have the system, he still have the accumulated knowledge of his world, there is science and there is many other ways for him to survive because of all this knowledge.
Even though this world has magic, at least a trace of it, science principle could be applied in this world
And this world is already at the dusk, at the setting sun of a world of magic. So, he could apply the knowledge of his world to this world.
In other words, he could survive even without the system and even without the system he could probably make a living and even probably become a great man in this world
But his father did not have all of this.
He is born in the Steppe and the culture of the Steppe and the thoughts of the Steppe is ingrained in him
his mind is not as vast, and his strategy is limited by many things.
But even with all of this, he found a way to make the tribe survives...even when it is limited.
"A great man" Aeryon thought to himself. Aeryon did not dare put himself up there.
He know how hard it would be for him to do what his father did, if he is born in the same circumstances.
That is why even though his father achievement is not that much, Aeryon still admire such a person.
He knows that if not for the system, if not for the knowledge of history he has in his mind, knowledge accumulated by hounds of years, he would be nothing
If he is Aeryon that is born in the Steppe, with the memories of only the Steppe, how could he have the ambition to rule the world.
Not only the steppe but the whole world!
Even though they are far from wealthy, the Brolgadhr tribe survives.
That is the condition of the Brolgadhr tribe during Rakarys time.
But now, during Aeryon time, the Brolgadhr tribe under Aeryon leadership has flourished, boasting substantial wealth and power.
Their abundance in herds and numerous horses signifies a secure protection system and enhanced livelihood within the tribe.
The tribe’s prosperity has grown to a point where potential threats dare not attempt to steal their horses or other livestock, a testament to their formidable position in the region.
In fact, there are some tribes that thinks that the Brolgadhr would like it if you did steal something from them because then they would have a reason to fight you
When Aeryon was in Nurshira, sieging the city there is a case. A band of Thieves comes to stole around nine horses of the Brolgadhr.
At that time, the Elder held power in the absence of Aeryon
and Aeryon uncle, Rukari is given the leadership role.
Rukari did not know who the thieves were and the Elders also hesitated to send any warriors to attack.
If it is delayed, than the thieves might quickly rode away.
It is not a rare occurrence for such thing to happen
The tension within the Brolgadhr tribe escalated as the debate persisted. Owners of the stolen horses voiced their grievances, demanding swift action against the thieves.
Yet, the Elders and Rukari found themselves at an impasse.
They understood the significance of the stolen horses but deliberated over the appropriate response.
The horses itself is not important.
It is the fact that these horses belongs to some clans.
The clans met the Elders...is it simply because of the matter of their horse being stolen?
The Nine Stolen Horses incident.
Probably this is how it would be written in the future.
The matter is not as simple as a band of thieves stealing nine horses.
This is related to the new clans that had joined the Brolgadhr tribe. And them, wanting to see the attitude of the Brolgadhr tribe towards them
They are testing and they are deliberating, trying to see what the Brolgadhr tribe would do for them.
Aeryon is fighting the Yan, the commanders and warriors of Aeryon is on the four corners of the new territory of the Brolgadhr, the sign of the rise of the Brolgadhr tribe is evident to all.
What sign that the people see?
It is the strength of the Brolgadhr tribe.
Aeryon instead of focusing on taking the north or continuing west, instead went back to the south, attack the northern regions of Yan.
It shows many things.
Some people might think it is an idiotic move.
But it is not.
Aeryon won three victories and it is these three victories that make people confident that the Brolgadhr tribe would become a large tribe
The people of the Steppe admire strength, bravery and honest people
Even though Aeryon went to the south and take most of his elite warriors with him, he won the righteousness of the world
He spreads his words, attacking Yan, avenging their forefathers, breaking the myth of the Yan invincibility, opening up new avenue of riches to them
Yan city was destroyed, tens of thousands of slaves is gained, breaking the myth of Yan invincibility also means that from now on, the people on the lower south of the Southern Great Steppe could now raid Yan.
Yan defeat created a new trend.
This is the first victory.
The victory of righteousness.
With Aeryon holding such a banner of righteousness, whoever attack his tribe when he is not around would be reviled.
Ashana is a weak group.
But it is also a very powerful group when they are united.
In many clans and tribes, they are the elders that dispense advice and divine the will of the Skyfather and the Earthmother
Aeryon relies on this weak group to spread his message and countless warriors wanting to create immortal achievement wanted to follow him.
The other victory is the victory of strength
Why did Aeryon send his warriors to the south and goes to the Yan territory?
That is the question that the chief ask themselves. Instead, they thought, how could Aeryon send warriors to the south?
How?
The answer is simple. Aeryon is powerful. His warriors are numerus and his chief warriors are all great warrior that could lead men to war even with the invincible Yan army.
The tall stone walls of the Yan could be broken by Aeryon men. Who else could be his rival in the Southern Great Steppe?
This is the victory of strength.
This intimidate those people.
And when one day, the horses of the Brolgadhr tribe arrive at their tribe, would they fight till no one left, or would they acknowledge the superiority of Aeryon men and surrender and fight for his great cause?
The victory of strength induce fear and awe. The majesty of such reputation is very important especially for someone like Aeryon
The third victory is the victory of diplomacy.
