Chapter 201: Larger Ambition

Chapter 201: Larger Ambition

Women of Yan is useless to Dama.

As for the men, Katakura advised Dama to sell them

Aeryon knowing this wanted to buy as many men and as many women from the Sordkazan tribe and the Esbizuk tribe as much as possible

Unlike these two tribes Aeryon has the system. In the Great Steppe, the more people you have , the more mouth you have to feed

And as such, most of the tribes would have a headache of trying to find source of food other than going raiding.

Today, Aeryon prove to the tribes of the Southern Great Steppe that not only the Yan soldiers are not invincible, there is many riches to be had

Aeryon likened it to when the Vikings found the British Isle

It is like seeing a land full of treasures, guarded by meek little sheep

The Yan has always been neighbour with the Great Steppe and they even erected a wall to make sure that the Steppe warriors could not come in while they keep killing the Steppe people

Aeryon also knows that there is a mountain of skulls of Great Steppe children that the Yan people had erected.

There is a general of the Yan during the reign of Yan Wudi reign that kills so many Great Steppe people, killing woman and child and instead he is touted as a great hero

But the Great Steppe people have been killed by the Yan for so long that they forget that the Yan people are people just like them.

They are not invincible.

And today, when the four tribes break this city, and when the news spread all over the Southern Great Steppe, Aeryon predicted that there would be chaos in the northern border of Yan for a few years from now on

When the riches of this raid reaches the ears of the chieftain of the Southern Great Steppe, many of them would probably hold ideas to raid the countryside of the north

"It is better that they raid the Yan’

After all, Aeryon has future knowledge so he knows that if the North is stabilized the Yan would the rode toward the north and kills hundreds and tens of thousands of Great Steppe warrior

At that time, they would be even more heartless. Because they did not view the Great Steppe people as people

Instead, they think of the Steppe people as animals.

But Aeryon has his own plans for taking the people of Yan. Farming. Yes, that is why he wanted the people of Yan

The people of Yan themselves suffers under the mismanagement of the Empire.

Especially for people living in border towns.

Just look at the condition of the walls of their city.

If the city walls is reinforced then how could it be that easy for Aeryon siege weapons which is not as complicated or as powerful as the siege weapon of the imperial army manage to break down the city wall

Aeryon territory is close to the fertile land. Aeryon of course have the idea to let his people farm.

But he thought long and hard about this before he abandon this idea

Teaching a wolf to farm, aren’t he worried that the wolves would become sheep? Can he teach his people to farm?

Can.

But the timing of this teaching must be precise

Not now. Right now, if he teaches his men to farm, not only would it take time, he is worried that he would turns wolves into sheep. And sheep when meeting wolves, how could they not get teared into pieces

Environment sometime dictated destiny and that is the blessing and curse of the Steppe people

Right now, the Steppe people do not have a governing body, a uniting force that could unite them

First, they need to be a force to unite them all under the same goals. Second, Aeryon could not and must not dull the claws of his people. Because around the Great Steppe, there is many empires who were all watching and waiting for the people of the Great Steppe to become weak

Now, he needed an army of wolves, hungry and fierce

He does not need sheep. When the great undertaking has been completed, when the world has become one under his banner, then he could slowly transition his people to a more settled community.

Then the only thing his descendant need to do is guard the border, stabilize internal problem, create prosperity and improve the livelihood of the people

Aeryon from the beginning wanted to become more than just Genghis Khan. He wanted to surpass Genghis Khan to create a long-lasting legacy that the Supreme Khan failed to do.

When people spoke of the Mongols and their legacy, while some of their legacy is positive to the world and there is many to list, one also could not forget the harsh life for some people under their rule.

The Mongols in his world splintered after Genghis Khan death and the brutal succession wars between brothers led the empire of the Mongols to fracture

and in some Mongol led nobles’ territory, their approach is more benevolent and in some are more brutal and unfair.

Some adapt to the local cultures and some force the local culture to adapt to them

And in those years and those people who live in those eras, how many innocent people was sacrificed.

Aeryon is not naïve to think that war will not have sacrifices

But he wanted to be better and he wanted to leave a shining legacy, an example of great governance.

And he could do that. Because he have the system. If he has this, how could he not create a prosperous era?

Yes, he lives in a barbaric era. But it doesn’t have to be.

End the chaos, bring peace for all generation, so that everyone could live a life worth living!

This is his larger ambition. But for that larger ambition to be realized, he must first realize the small ambition first

And he has to do things he has never done before.

Blood has always moved history.

Aeryon spoke with Dama and then he bought many of the slaves with cheap resources.

When Aeryon said cheap, he means food because if there is one thing that he is not lacking, it is food

Next winter, if they raid again, Aeryon warriors would be Eben more powerful than they are now.

If you want to become a conqueror in ancient times, you only need three things. You need food, you need people and you need weapons.

If you have these three things, you could raise a rebellion, conquer the world.

And with population the economy could start moving and with population one could raise an army

Aeryon then bought more people from Sordkazan and while the Khagai tribe also wanted the people, they did not take everyone and the other Aeryon take.

That night the rewards and bounties and all the wealth of the cities are divided among the four and Aeryon got the most of it because he was the first one to break the city and he was the organizer of the raid

As for the warriors, Dama warriors is like demonic beast descending to human world. They raped and kill and destroys anything they did not like. All wealth is taken by them and whoever displeases them is killed

To the people of Yan, they truly look like demons.

But for Dama warriors, this is a normal behaviour for them because the life in Esbizuk is harsh and they fought to kill

And there is also the mountain people amongst them.

These mountain people are even more brutal, they live in the mountain and they come down the mountain to raid the Great Steppe people or the Yindu people

They are good trackers and they could climb mountains easily and they have great stamina and they run around the forest of the mountains like agile monkey

When they go into battle with horses under them, a steel weapon on their hands this physical prowess of them that is cultivated since they were child explodes

When they fight all of their moves are agile and unorthodox making their enemies unable to accurately predict the way they attacked . And in a battlefield, unable to predict your opponent weapon would lead to death

These mountain people have never seen the prosperity of the world and when they look they take what they want be it people or things.

The southern area of the city is in chaos and whoever dares to resist, Esbizuk warriors would kill without mercy

Sordkazan tribes also did the same but their behaviours is more restrained. They also raped many women and the woman they are fond off they would bring back to their tribe

They also take everyone wealth. But unlike the Dama tribe they were not as bloodthirsty. That night alone, Dama warriors kills tens of thousands of people. Dama hated the Yan people immensely.

And so, that night in many quarters of the city, many Yan people were slaughtered for no reason.

Blood drenched the city roads and the smell of blood could be smelling miles away.

On the other side of the city, there is the Sordkazan tribe.

At least in the area where Sordkazan tribe is camped in, the people there is not subjected to such an indiscriminate slaughter

Sordkazan main primary objective is simply to get more resources and more weapons. In other words, Karnain, the chief of the Sordkazan tribe is more practical.

And while they did not mind killing, there is no reason to incite a rebellion inside the city when they already took it.

It is different from Dama who acted like a maniac sometimes

Dama wanted the people of Yan to rebel so that he could put them down. Sordkazan chief wanted to gain the most profit with little loss.

They did not have so much manpower like the Brolgadhr tribe, the Esbizuk tribe and the Khagai tribe

So, they restrained themselves

But the most impressive thing is the warriors of the Khagai and the warriors of Brolgadhr.
