With strength, comes power. And with power comes corruption.

And those with innate strength usually has an absolute power. In the ancient past those with power rules his people with absolute power.

And absolute power always corrupt. The common people, wherever they are whether they be in Roma, in Yindu, in Yan, in Western Zhou, in the Great Steppe, the story is always the same

They are the weak. And the strong would always oppress the weak. Because who would they oppress if they do not oppress the weak?

Who would oppress the strong?

Resentment gathered, the will of the people coalesced and when resentment reach to the Heavens, it means the people could no longer bear it.

With suffering and pain, the common people learn to survive and they learn to endure. And then when the situation is right, the time is right, the common people explode.

And they explode in creativity.

The strength one is born with might not be the same, but everyone is born with the same brain.

Those with strength uses strength like a hammer.

And because they only used the hammer, every problem looks like a nail

And so, every problem is solved with the hammer.

It did not change.

But if there is something constant about the world, it is that the world is a place of constant change.

The people with innate strength did not change.

But the common people who have to survive and have no hammer in their hands has to learn to use other things

And because of that, the common people understood something that those elite people in the ancient past could not understand

To change.

They wanted to change and they wanted a change. The world is unfair to them and so they shall rise up against the world

The He vanes did not hear their pleas, so they should rebel against the Heavens.

And in the ancient past, those common people were ethe one that created magical weapons, created traps and all kids of principle of magic to restrain people with innate strength.

And then the apocalypse happened.

The world is forever changed.

There is no longer any wizard that could fly in the sky and waves their hand and summons rains and clouds.

There is no longer swordsman that could split a mountain with a sword, or a strongman that pluck up mountain and throws it to the sky.

But people with innate strength is still born. It is not as exaggerated as it as in the ancient past.

But it is still very powerful.

One man could hold back thousands of ordinary soldiers, rampaging in the battlefield like a god of war reincarnated into the mortal world.

And once again, the common people learning from the wisdom of the past, create contraption and weapons to deal with such people

Especially Yan people.

In the past, there is many histories and allusion in Yan empire history of how one man could charge the imperial city and kills the emperor.

And so, they developed more weapons against the people with innate strength than any of their neighbours.

if not for that, how could the warriors of the Great Steppe had to be oppressed by the Yan Empire.

Nurshira, situated in the northernmost reaches of the Yan Empire, stands apart from the other cities of the empire.

Originally established as a trade outpost, its primary purpose was to engage in commerce with the nomadic tribes of the Great Steppe, while subtly extending the influence of the Yan empire among these steppe-dwelling people.

Over time, the city’s role shifted.

It evolved into a trading hub that supplied the remote strongholds and garrisons to the north, becoming an essential link in the empire’s logistical network.

Despite this transformation, Nurshira retained its unique characteristics.

One notable feature that distinguished Nurshira from the other Yan cities was its extensive armament.

But years had passed. Corruption is rampant among the eunuchs and officials, the forces that is once elite has now languid, its campaign create resentment all over the world

On one hand they say they advocate peace. On the other they commit terror and name it civilizing the barbarians.

Resentment gathered and it explodes. The ills of the empire had turned Nurshira into a weak city.

The powerful soldiers could not be seen, the armaments was not maintained and the city has fallen

Aeryon expectations of a fierce and brutal battle were met with surprise as the city’s defense crumbled relatively easily.

He had mentally prepared himself to lead the battle bloodied and broken, expecting a challenging fight against a well-prepared opponent.

He prepared all kinds of strategy to use if there is delay in sieging the city and breaking the city

However, the ease with which the four tribes managed to breach the city’s defense left him wondering if there were hidden factors at play.

Mayeux did have his own personal insight that he had shared with Aeryon before the battle

There was a possibility that internal problems or issues within the city were contributing to the weakness of its defense.

Aeryon considered that the defending forces of the city might be facing internal strife, a lack of coordination, or leadership issues that had weakened their ability to repel the Great Steppe warriors.

And honestly the siege weapons did not help that much

there were many siege weapons that Aeryon wanted to use but could not because the construction of the siege weapon was faulty and because of that after a few uses, some of his siege weapons broke down almost immediately.

But even though he only uses a few siege weapons, it was enough. It was enough to drain the morale of the defender of the city

This is what happens when you underestimate your enemies.

They would always be able to surprise you and surprise is a very crucial element in a war

"Belarion is too excited" Aeryon thought to himself as he causally dodges an arrow that flies toward his face

He dodges it and then took one of the axes on the ground and with his arm strength, he hurls it toward the archer that is hiding on the trees.

The axe flew like lightning and before that archer could jump down toward the ground, the axe arrived first, as it lodged itself on the back of the archer head.
