Chapter 165: Warriors Fighting

Chapter 165: Warriors Fighting

The Emperor of Tuighur by this time, no longer wanted to kill the giant in the east side. The Emperor of Tuighur loves talent like he loves his son.

And to him, if he has such a protector like the giant, he would fear nobody in this world. And if he could let these two giants to help him, how could he not rule the world?

So, he wanted to recruit the Giant King of the East

To distinguish between the two giants in the story, most of the storytellers that told this story used specific names.

The giant from the East was known as Estgarsi, meaning "Giant from the East," while the giant from the North was called Nurgasi, signifying "Giant from the North."

This is because nobody knows the name of that giant anymore

Nurgasi journeyed to the East, and when these two mighty giants crossed paths, a colossal battle erupted.

The clash was so intense that it seemed as if the very heavens split open, the earth trembled beneath them, and each thunderous blow they exchanged created shockwaves that unleashed powerful windstorms.

Their battle raged on until they found themselves in the Yindu Mountains.

Even there, they continued their ferocious combat, and their relentless struggle resulted in the transformation of parts of the mountain ranges into open clearings.

The epic clash between Estgarsi and Nurgasi endured for an astonishing seven days and seven nights. Their battle was so relentless that it extended across the entire Steppe, leaving its mark on the landscape.

At one point during their confrontation, they engaged in combat near the Empatarah River.

Before their encounter, this river resembled a vast sea, with its expansive waters giving it the appearance of a mighty sea.

However, in the course of their ferocious battle, these two giants hurled mountains and hills at each other near the river’s banks.

This caused the river to swell dramatically, overflowing its banks and sending water cascading southward, westward, and eastward.

The river is transformed into a powerful force of nature, forever altering the surrounding landscape.

Nurgasi then throws a rock into the river and they begin building a pathway on the river using mountain of soils and stones to fight each other at the center

Ultimately, their fierce contest concluded in a draw, and an accord was struck.

Estgarsi, the King of the East, vowed not to launch any attacks on the Tuighur Empire.

The Emperor of Tuighur, recognizing the unique nature of the Eastern Steppe, chose to grant it a degree of freedom and autonomy not afforded to the other regions of the Great Steppe.

In doing so, he ensured that its people could continue their way of life without the direct influence of the Tuighur Empire.

As a gesture of his respect and recognition, the Emperor bestowed upon the Four Qayans a significant honour.

And the Emperor of Tuighur then seals the Four Qayans. In a way Qayans could be considered Kings.

Sealing the Kings means gifting the seal of title of Kings

He granted them the title of Kings by sealing their authority with his imperial seal.

These Four Qayans came to be regarded as the Kings of the Four Directions: the King of the North, the King of the South, the King of the East, and the King of the West.

Before his eventual passing, the Emperor requested that Nurgasi and Estgasi craft a colossal stele, a monumental stone marker that would delineate the borders of these Four Kings, forever marking the eternal border of the Four Kings of the Great Steppe.

The monumental Stele erected by the giants Nurgasi and Estgasi stood as a powerful symbol of the unity and division of the Great Steppe.

United under the Maha Qayan, divided into four virtues of the Qayan!

Its significance persisted through the ages, becoming the historical marker that explained why the Steppe was divided into four regions initially.

However, as the Tuighur Empire eventually crumbled, the regions formerly united under its rule faced new challenges.

Warlords from the fallen empire territories vied for power and dominance.

This internal strife led to a gradual weakening of their realms in each successive generation.

As a result, the Great Steppe eventually splintered into five distinct regions: the Northern Great Steppe, the Southern Great Steppe, the Eastern Great Steppe, the Western Great Steppe, and the Central Great Steppe.

Thus, the division of the Great Steppe into these five distinct regions can be traced back to the dissolution of the Tuighur Empire and the subsequent struggles for power among its former territories.

Each region developed its own unique character and identity over time, leading to the diverse landscapes and cultures that define the Great Steppe today.

And this why they all knows which side they belong. On the border of each area, there is a stele, a gigantic stele and that is how they know whether they have gone past through another part of the Steppe or not.

This is the history of the Great Steppe

....

As the sun cast its golden rays across the Steppe, Aeryon stood at the forefront of his encampment, his piercing eyes fixed on the distant battlefield.

The air is charged with anticipation of victory, the taste of impending battle heavy on the air

A few days had passed since Aeryon forces had set up camp outside the city of Nurshira. During this time, skirmishes and clashes had erupted, each a fiery battle of blades and valor.

But today, it seemed a more significant confrontation was on the horizon.

One particularly memorable battle had involved Aeryon sworn brother, Belarion just a day ago.

His reputation as a formidable combatant preceded him, and tales of his prowess had no doubt reached the ears of Nurshira defenders.

The city’s beleaguered City Lord, Qiao Meng, had dispatched a warrior named Xiongba to face Belarion in single combat.

Belarion, not one to shy away from a challenge, approached this duel with utmost seriousness.

He grasped a massive glaive, a weapon of exceptional power he had claimed from the spoils of previous conquests.

Its blade had been tested on stone, cutting stone like a weak branch on a tree, a deadly sharpness, a lethal weapon

With the glaive in hand, Belarion mounted his horse, a magnificent steed that seemed as eager for battle as its rider.

The rhythm of war drums echoed through the camp as Aeryon himself, struck the instrument with a force that resonated like thunder tearing through the heavens.

Aeryon shouted to Belarion

"I will wait for you. Present the head of the Yan warrior to the people of the grassland as offering to the wronged souls of the oppressed!"

Aeryon even in that moment did not forget to make sure that the people did not forget about the enmity between Yan and the Great Steppe.

The warriors of the Steppe that is present at that time would surely tell such stories when they returned later and it would probably would make it easier for him in the future when he wanted to unite his people if there is an enemy he could point them towards

The warriors of the Steppe are all confident that Belarion would win but there is still some doubt because everyone still believe the propaganda of the Yan army all of these years

Belarion rides with his horse, and in one swing of his glaive, the head of Xiongba is taken.

The battle unfolded in a flurry of strikes and parries, with the onlooking warriors atop Nurshira walls collectively holding their breath.

Xiongba, the challenger sent by City Lord Qiao Meng, was a formidable adversary.

His every attack is full of impact and power, a display of raw, brute strength that shook the very earth beneath his feet.

With each swing of his colossal weapon, the ground trembled as if protesting the violence being wrought upon it.

Hills seemed to shiver, and mountains, in the distance, appeared to quiver at the onslaught.

That is the feeling

The cacophonous echoes of his strikes reverberated below the city wall like the rumbling of an enraged deity.

Belarion, on the other hand, adopted a different approach.

While his opponent unleashed a relentless barrage of blows, he defended with precision and grace.

His glaive moved like an extension of himself, intercepting each of Xiongba strikes with fluid efficiency.

To the casual observer, it appeared as though Belarion was on the defensive, weathering the storm unleashed by his adversary.

However, those who understood the art of battle recognized Belarion strategy.

With each passing moment, as he parried and blocked, he carefully analysed Xiongba every move, every flaw in his technique.

He observed the rhythm, the timing, and the tell-tale signs of fatigue in his opponent.

As the second turned into what felt like hours, the tension in the air grew tense

The warriors on the walls of Nurshira watched in awe, their earlier confidence in Xiongba seemingly unstoppable assault giving way to uncertainty.

Then, as if guided by some unseen hand of fate, the moment of opportunity arrived.

A split-second hesitation from Xiongba, a slight overextension in his final, thunderous strike, and Belarion seized the chance he had been patiently waiting for.

In one breath-taking motion, Belarion transformed from the defender into the conqueror.

His glaive, like a streak of lightning, arced through the air with deadly intent.

The clash of metal rang out like a mournful bell, and in that instant, the head of Xiongba was severed from his colossal frame.

The soldiers of Nurshira, who had been watching with bated breath, erupted into a mixture of astonishment and horror.

Their champion, the mighty Xiongba, lay defeated in a pool of his own blood.
