Chapter 109 - Dynamic Equipment Resonance Emitter
Agent Feena and the other KAWAII Agents were locked in fierce combat against the NTR WAIFUs. Though only four KAWAII operatives stood on the battlefield, they faced off against a daunting force of twelve enemy WAIFUs. Outnumbered but not outclassed, the KAWAII team relied on superior training and the expert coordination of their support units to tip the balance.
"Typhoon Saw, Equip!" shouted one of the KAWAII support unit members, activating his WEEB module. His hand glowed with vibrant energy as he aimed it toward Agent Feena.
With a high-pitched electronic hum, Agent Feena’s colossal white-and-pink Frame Unit burst to life. Three cybernetic rings materialized around her—two flanking her sides and one hovering behind her like a halo. She extended her arms toward the rings, and in a flash of radiant particles, a pair of massive cybernetic gauntlets snapped into place on her arms and backpack.
Mechanical whirs escalated into a vicious roar as twin rotary saws unfolded from the gauntlets, their teeth spinning in a blur of deadly precision. From the backpack, a third articulated arm emerged—its own saw gleaming like a hungry predator.
"HRAAAAH!" Agent Feena cried as she charged forward, her Typhoon Saw screaming through the air. The first enemy WAIFU didn’t stand a chance—Feena tore through her like a force of nature, sparks erupting in violent flares as molten chunks of metal exploded outward. The enemy Frame Unit was reduced to shredded debris in an instant.
"URAAAH!" another NTR WAIFU bellowed, launching herself at Feena with nothing but her reinforced metallic fists.
But Feena's reflexes were razor-sharp. In a blur of motion, she met the attack head-on. Her gauntlets screeched through the air, severing both of the enemy’s arms with terrifying ease. Before the mangled unit could retreat, the third saw arm whirred forward—slicing clean through her metallic skull.
On the sidelines, Myrrh watched with wide, awe-struck eyes. Her voice was barely above a whisper.
“That was awesome! You’re so cool, Agent Feena!”
“You flatter me far too much, Miss Alicent,” Agent Feena replied with a confident smirk. Her voice barely masked the thrill of battle. “But don’t worry—once you reach Clearance Level 34, you’ll unlock the Typhoon Saw. It’s perfect for carving through metal... especially NTR WAIFUs.”
Without missing a beat, Feena tilted her body to the side, narrowly avoiding a piston-powered punch from another enemy Frame Unit. In a flash, her Typhoon Saw spun to life—whirring, snarling, screaming. A single sweep of her gauntlets turned the assailant into a cloud of sparks and twisted scrap.
“Time for us to take the spotlight, Zaft!” Myrrh shouted, her eyes gleaming as she pumped her fists with electric energy.
“Got it,” I said with a quick nod. My fingers flew across the WEEB interface. “Jetpack, Light Shield, Beam Rifle, Equip!”
Instantly, the requested weapons materialized across Myrrh’s Frame Unit. A streamlined jetpack locked onto her back with a mechanical hiss. A radiant Light Shield unfolded on her left arm like an energy blossom, while a sleek Beam Rifle magnetized to her right hand.
With a powerful thrust, Myrrh ignited her boosters and blasted off into the sky, leaving a glowing contrail as she rose above the chaos below.
“I’ll take out all the establishment’s gatling guns and external security systems!” she called over comms, her voice fierce and focused. “Fei, keep those two idiots alive!”
She didn’t have to clarify. We both knew who she meant—Neil and me, huddled in the middle of the battlefield with little more than blind luck keeping us in one piece.
“G-got it!” Fei shouted from nearby. She crouched low, positioning herself like a living shield, her Frame Unit bracing to intercept any incoming fire. Every muscle in her mechanical frame screamed readiness.

“This is turning bad!” one of the NTR WAIFUs shrieked, panic rising in her digitized voice. “We’re down to nine!”
“Activate the Dynamic Equipment Resonance Emitter!” barked another, her tone sharp with urgency.
“Wilco!” a third confirmed without hesitation.
In an instant, the battlefield shifted.
The NTR Frame Units began to transform, their surfaces warping as if possessed by living machinery. Crimson metal surged across their colossal forms, forming jagged, sinister armor that locked into place with thunderous clangs. Each of their arms erupted with mechanical force—twin gatling guns emerging with a menacing hiss of hydraulics and the ominous whine of charging barrels.
“Oh shit!” Agent Feena’s eyes widened as the air grew thick with danger.
“Tower Shield, Equip!” the KAWAII support unit yelled, slamming commands into his WEEB. His glowing hand thrust toward the embattled WAIFUs on the field.
With a shimmer of blue light, each KAWAII Frame Unit deployed a massive, rectangular tower shield—gleaming with reinforced alloys and energy dampeners. The moment the NTR WAIFUs opened fire, a hailstorm of bullets tore through the air like a metal hurricane. But the KAWAII WAIFUs held firm behind their shields, sparks flying as the barrage ricocheted off with deafening clangs.
“W-what the hell was that?!” Agent Feena shouted over the noise, eyes scanning the horizon. “They don’t have a support unit! How the hell did they manage to equip gatling guns on the fly?!”
“YAAAAH!” Fei roared as her twin gatling guns spun to life, screaming with fury.
She unleashed a relentless storm of bullets—not at us, but at the NTR WAIFUs.
Round after round tore through the battlefield, each impact erupting into sparks, smoke, and shredded metal. One by one, the enemy Frame Units detonated in mid-movement, limbs and plating scattering like confetti under Fei’s merciless assault.
I could barely speak. “Fei, you…”
“That,” Neil said quietly beside me, “is the Dynamic Equipment Resonance Emitter.”
“Dynamic Equipment Resonance Emitter?” I echoed, my eyes still locked on Fei as she decimated our enemies.
Neil nodded. “We call it DERE for short. It’s a modular armor system—lets WAIFUs instantly generate optional weapons and armor without needing a full support unit. Not as strong or customizable as a WEEB, but it’s fast, self-contained, and... portable.”
He paused, then added, “Kind of like a porta potty.”
I turned to him, raising an eyebrow. “You’re really comparing a weapon system to a toilet?”
He shrugged. “Hey, it’s always there when you need it.”
Despite the tension, I let out a reluctant laugh. “Fair enough. This is the same system Fei used during the Blackout, right?”
Neil’s face turned somber. He nodded. “Yeah. I’m... sorry. I didn’t mean to stir up any bad memories.”
I looked back at Fei, who stood among the wreckage of the NTR units—her armor still glowing faintly red, her massive frame rising through the smoke like a guardian out of a war story.
“It’s water under the bridge,” I said with a small shrug. “All that matters now... is that Fei’s fighting with us.”
Back on the battlefield, the remaining NTR WAIFUs were far from stunned by Fei’s betrayal. In fact, they weren’t surprised at all. They had known—long before the first bullet left her guns—that Fei was no longer one of them.
With a sharp, synchronized motion, three NTR WAIFUs extended their right arms outward. A jagged pulse of energy rippled through the air, and with a flash of crimson light, each arm forged into a gleaming, oversized switchblade.
“TRAITOORRR!” one of them screamed, their voice metallic with fury and vengeance. Her thrusters ignited in a violent burst, rocketing her forward like a missile. The other two followed, fanning out to flank Fei from both sides—an execution formation.
“Ah—!” Fei gasped, momentarily caught off guard.
She swung her gatling guns into position and pulled the triggers—but they only clicked and spun uselessly, the barrels glowing red-hot from overuse. She had burned them out with her earlier barrage.
No time to think. She snapped her arm outward and activated her own switchblade, metal hissing as it locked into place. In the blink of an eye, she met the first attacker head-on. Their blades clashed with a deafening screech, sparks flying like fireworks across the smoke-filled air.
But the other two WAIFUs were closing in fast, and Fei had no room to maneuver.
“FEI!” I shouted, helpless as I watched the ambush unfold.
Then—ZAP!
A vivid green laser tore through the battlefield, slicing cleanly through the arms of the two incoming WAIFUs before they could strike. Their switchblades dropped mid-flight, followed by their limbs. A moment later, their cores detonated in midair, fireballs erupting as they spiraled downward and exploded on impact.
We all turned toward the sky.
There she was—Myrrh, poised like a goddess of war atop her white-and-gold Frame Unit, wings of propulsion glowing behind her as her Beam Rifle vented steam from the barrel.
Below, Fei spun gracefully, sidestepping the stunned remaining WAIFU. In a single, fluid motion, she brought her switchblade around and carved through her attacker’s neck. The enemy’s metallic head launched into the air before the body collapsed in a crumpled heap.
“Enemy gatling systems are already neutralized,” she said over comms, her tone clear and focused.
Neil was already shouting. “How about Ismail? Where the hell is he?!”
Myrrh’s voice wavered for the first time. “I lost him during the chaos.”
“Don’t let him get away, or else—”
BOOOOM!
Neil’s voice was drowned in a thunderous explosion. A fireball erupted at the southern perimeter of the facility, smoke rising in a thick pillar.
The battlefield fell silent for half a second, everyone turning toward the blast.
Then came the distant screech of metal.
