Chapter 89: Chapter 89 Sea Spirit Civilization

Galaxy Nebula.

Perseus arm, mid-section.

This area is relatively dense with stars.

While on the map of the Galaxy Nebula, the Perseus arm appears to be very small,

in reality, the diameter of this arm is about 6000 light-years, and of course, with the onset of the escape era, the diameter of the Perseus arm has now increased to about 6500 light-years.

Thus, just the middle part of the Perseus arm spans nearly 2000 light-years.

In this broad region, there are countless stars, typically encountering one every ten or so light-years, with more than half of these stars being solitary, while the others have captured satellites.

Among them, one star with over nine hundred times the Constant Star Mass had captured six newly formed planet embryos from its own birth nebula.

In the consequent prolonged evolution, these six planets gradually took form.

And the deep blue planet located on the second orbit, being only 1.2 astronomical units away from the Central Constant Star, turned its surface into a cradle for biological evolution.

In the initial hundreds of millions of years of cell evolution, the first unicellular organism was born from the ocean.

After another few hundred million years of evolution from unicellular to multicellular organisms, the marine environment became rich and colorful.

However, this richness and color also highlighted the ocean’s law of survival of the fittest, and after millions of years of natural selection, one type of marine organism emerged and gradually evolved into a highly intelligent life form.

This marine life somewhat resembled the mythical mermaids, except they had a row of flexible fins on the backs of their hands, feet, and backs, allowing them to swim through the water at high speeds.

Moreover, they were not as cute as the mythical mermaids, with scales on their heads and two rows of sharp, ugly teeth in their mouths, looking truly like a man-eating piranha, with a fierce and horrifying face, and white eyeballs with a tiny black pupil, somewhat resembling the Ghoul Whale in Naruto at a glance.

This life form called itself the Sea Spirit Clan, meaning the spirit of the sea.

The Sea Spirit People were extremely intelligent and soon became the overlords of the ocean, establishing their own Sea Spirit Civilization.

After more than three thousand years of development, the Sea Spirit Civilization quickly rose to a First-level Civilization, mastering controlled nuclear fusion technology.

However, their method of controlling nuclear fusion was cold nuclear fusion, also known as constant temperature nuclear fusion, which, unlike the hot nuclear fusion of stars, did not require very high temperatures but used electrolysis of heavy water to induce nuclear fusion reactions of tritium, a hydrogen isotope.

Later, after another fifteen hundred years of development,

The Sea Spirit Civilization successfully advanced to a Second-level Civilization, mastering Annihilation Technology.

Unfortunately, in the nearly eight thousand years that followed, the Sea Spirit Civilization could not progress further, forever remaining at the Second-level Civilization.

It was only during the outbreak of the giant nebula crisis that scientists from the Sea Spirit Civilization, using a heavy water telescope, observed this fact.

Because the Sea Spirit Star had abundant water resources, covering ninety-nine percent of the planet’s land, the Sea Spirit Civilization, as the marine overlords, rarely paid attention to the skies but focused on exploring the depths of the ocean, whether it was the ever-changing marine environment or the magnificent and eerie coastline, both of which were enough to immerse and pride themselves.

This was also one of the main reasons they could not thoroughly study vacuum energy and thus could not advance to a Third-level Civilization.

Additionally, being aquatic creatures, leaving water was essentially a death sentence, let alone jumping into outer space, which many Sea Spirit People internally rejected, hence leading to a very low number of talents in this research area, and slow development in astronomy.

When the Sea Spirit Civilization realized the danger of the giant nebula crisis, they belatedly began to aggressively research astronomy and develop space technology.

However, it must be said that the Sea Spirit People were indeed extremely intelligent, with a very solid energy foundation, and within just fifty years, their space technology surpassed that of 21st-century humanity.

Still, this was not enough to avoid the giant nebula crisis.

As the crisis rapidly approached, unrest started brewing within the Sea Spirit Civilization, with scientists and high-ranking officials meeting every few days to discuss solutions.

After almost a full year of discussion.

Three opinions formed within the Sea Spirit Civilization: one was to build spacecraft and escape, which was rejected by conservatives who believed that without the natural and rich marine ecology, the Sea Spirit Civilization could not survive the three to four thousand light years of arduous journey and would die before even escaping the Galaxy Nebula.

Hence, the conservative faction proposed to ignore the situation.

After all, the distance between planets and stars in space is so vast that even the collision of two massive giant nebulas might not impact their Sea Spirit Star.

However, this overly fatalistic proposal was unacceptable to many Sea Spirit People.

Therefore, a third method was proposed by a young astronomer within the Sea Spirit Civilization, who had always been fascinated with the mysteries of the universe and at one point observed light reaching the Sea Spirit Star from hundreds of light years away. From continuous observation, he witnessed a super interstellar war between Celestial Civilizations.

Thus, he hypothesized that celestial bodies in the universe were not inanimate, some of them were conscious life forms.

The method he suggested was to find similar Planet-level Celestial Civilizations, negotiate with them, and then migrate the entire Sea Spirit Civilization, sitting within a Celestial Civilization to escape the Galaxy Nebula.

This astronomer did not realize that the concept he proposed was essentially the embryo of a life commune.

And this method would neither require sacrificing a portion of the Sea Spirit People (as the spacecraft could not carry all forty billion Sea Spirit People) nor worry about marine ecology issues, nor foolishly wait on the Sea Spirit Star for death, thus it was supported by the majority.

Of course, the Sea Spirit Civilization was not foolish, though not without its fools, but overall, they were very smart. They certainly wouldn’t put all their hopes on one method, so while sending out space ships to search for Celestial Civilizations, they also crazily built universal spacecraft.

The Sea Spirit Civilization was carrying out two plans simultaneously; if they really couldn’t find a Celestial Civilization, then they had to leave in a universal spacecraft. Since some conservatives were unwilling to leave, they might as well let them stay on the Sea Spirit Star.

Just like that, another decade or so hurriedly passed.

One day, a pale blue, slightly white Wandering Planet flew into the Sea Spirit Star System.

The Sea Spirit People stationed on the other five major planets of the Sea Spirit Star System quickly noticed this Wandering Planet, and immediately notified the Mother Star.

With authorization from the upper echelons, a space ship slowly flew towards the Wandering Planet.

After several attempts, it was confirmed that this Wandering Planet was not a Celestial Civilization, which left many expectant Sea Spirit People utterly disappointed.

Yet the next moment, they discovered an incredibly shocking fact!
