Chapter 252: When The Party’s Almost Over

Chapter 252: When The Party’s Almost Over

[KAWAI]

Being known as one with the king’s home was crazy, but then what was crazier than the fact that this man was threatening everyone who stood right there before them? They were their people, and the king would go to war for them.

But if they tried to hurt the people the king cared about, none of them would be safe, because the king would eliminate his very own people to save the family he had strived to build over the years.

It was desperate, but it was the truth. Then again, it was one that the king couldn’t care about now, and that was more horrifying than the chaos that was coming. Nevertheless, the king continued.

"He is an omega. While that for you may be an abnormality, he is a citizen of Kawai, protected by the laws of Kawai. This goes to all those omegas who have been forced into hiding, because of how they are.

"This is for you who strive to be better in a kingdom known for war. Let it be known that I, the king, decree that all omegas be treated as equals in the Lycan kingdom. I have the full count of the omegas in the kingdom, the omegas who keep their scents masked to survive.

"Let them know that the kingdom will protect them like it protects every other Lycan. If you hurt an omega, the same level of hurt will be inflicted on you. Keep that in mind, because it is not just I who will be coming after you, but the entirety of the Kawai army.

"Your families will be after you and even better, or perhaps worse, the prince will be after you," King Zaffuto warned and reminded at the same time. He knew that this was the most unhinged speech he had ever given, but lines had to be drawn.

They wouldn’t relax just because there was a new council. There was a definitive placement for the way that things were supposed to be and hell would blow over before the king let the lines be dampened like that.

He would see to it that no one ever stood a chance when it came to making lives harder because he was the most unhinged of them all. It didn’t matter how shit got, because right now, they had to remember the essentials before they went into war.

They had to keep it all in mind because no one cared about wars that couldn’t be won, but the mad king was a war on his own.

"Welcome to the family, Konstantin. You are free to be whoever you want, whenever you want. You can be the Lycan Chief, the royal omega, and a warrior. Whatever you choose to do, you have the backing of the crown, until the very end," King Zaffuto said with pride.

Igor felt his heart flutter as he looked at the king, and then at Tamiko who was smiling at him with matching pride. He was a man in love and his father was making their lives easier.

This right here was not just a declaration to the people of Kawai. This was the reminder that regardless of what war became or what they had been forced into by the incoming battles, they could be together, come hell, or high water.

"Thank you, sire," Konstantin said before he walked back to where he was meant to sit. He could see the shock on the faces of the Kawai Lycans as they tried to hide their impulses at the sight of the omega.

They were beasts by nature and they were meant to see omegas as pry. The declaration the king had made was going to be the most challenging of them all because they had been born and bred to despise and feed on omegas.

Omegas were supposed to be free to use at every point of their lives, and yet the king had just revoked that privilege for the Lycans. This was scary and a rebellion was bound, but then the king didn’t care.

He had given the warning, and whoever wanted to mess with him on that front, would just have to face the consequences of whatever they had roped themselves into.

"And now, without wasting time, I shall introduce the apple of my eye, my precious Kaito Hinata," the king spoke with conviction. He knew he had scared the people of Kawai but healthy, Zaffuto didn’t give a shit about that; he didn’t care.

This was a time of war, and someone had attacked the king first.

This was his retaliation because he couldn’t trust his very own people. He could trust the people he had turned over because even though the wolves had been the ones to attack the birthing hall all those years ago, someone had betrayed the kingdom.

Someone had come after what the king had loved the most and he was just putting it out there that he would kill them all this time. He was letting them know that regardless of what fate looked like, he wouldn’t stop.

All the gloves had been off for the moment the Lycan queen had been birthing with the commoners and that was a reality that King Zaffuto had struggled to embrace. But right now, he was letting them know.

He was letting his enemies who were important to him. Who they could come after, if they wanted to cripple the king, and with an omega in their midst, anyone would think the king would be weakest.

Perhaps that was a truth that he was yet to face, but with the people the king had around him, breaking through that barrier this time, would be hard. This was not just about the king and his brother anymore.

This was about the king and the people he had loved enough to brag about despite the war they were in.

Maybe he was putting targets on the backs of the people he loved, but would they really be targets when they were just as lethal and had rage and a thirst for vengeance from lifelines that could be broken in one day?

"The prince of Kawai is back. Some of you know him as the outcast of Grealor. I suppose you heard the stories too, so I will not blame you for that aspect of life. What you must understand is that the prince is back, and he is not as kind as Liana, that much is certain.

Whatever you do with that information, is up to you," King Zaffuto said with pride as he ushered his son to the front. He knew that this was long overdue, that the introduction was the one thing that could burn Kawai to the ground or build it up.

His son had all the cards in his hands and whatever he decided, he knew damn well that his father would be on his side. His father would agree to whatever he did because the king was the devil... and his son was his lifeline.

His son was the one person that he would never let go of. The world could be going to shit and King Zaffuto would be watching his son, even if he was the cause of that shit. His son was everything and they all needed to know that.

"Thank you, papa," Tamiko said, his smile genuine before he turned to the people of Kawai, the people who had been lusting after his omega.

"He is beautiful, isn’t he?" Tamiko challenged and the assembly ground went silent.
