"Do you feel HOT? Igor Konstantin?" Mick asked as he stared at Konstantin. Igor didn’t catch the drift at first, but the longer he stared at Mick, the more he realized that there was more to the man than he could see.
The bottle in his hands... oh, but it was open already.
The thought of what was in there got his mind going on overdrive and he stood there for the first time, too shocked to move and too surprised to even think straight. This had been a trap, and Akila had tried to save him from it.
However, now there wasn’t even a way out that he could openly consider because, at the end of the day, it was not going to work anymore.
The smirk on the faces of Terrian, Mick, and the other wolves was enough to remind Akila and Igor that this was not the kind of game they wanted to be playing with anyone.
It was something that would forever haunt the two of them if they didn’t attend to it as soon as possible. Maybe that was why it was so easy for them to get to this point and so close.
Igor was not sure what part of the life he had lived to this day warranted this shit and honestly, he wasn’t going to sit still. So, he tried to fight back, but he had already breathed in a significant amount of the powder.
Oh, but Igor was angry about this.
"What the fuck did you do?!" Akila asked angrily before adding endless cusses as he tried to make sense of the situation. He knew what this would do and he knew damn well that he had to make shit better as soon as possible.
They had to find a central point because if this continued, there would be so many lives lost.
Akila had thought that he was advocating for the truth with the angry wolves.
He wanted to get through to them but when he looked at them a second time, he realized that they didn’t mind losing their lives and that was also how he knew that this wasn’t going to be easy.
"Create a portal, Igor. Get us out of here," Akila said as he held Igor’s hand.
The Lycan Chief’s body temperature had gotten so high it was unforgettable. It was almost like he was burning from within, only that this time, he wasn’t burning because he needed a cold shower, but because he needed his Erasthai.
He needed Tamiko and Tamiko wasn’t even close. Oh, but it was a moment that frustrated Igor.
So, when Akila held his hand to help him not stagger, Igor did the one thing that he had never done with anyone; he whined and leaned into Akila... breathing the man in before his face twisted into an emptiness that he hated.
"You’re not him... you don’t smell like lavender," Igor whined and Akia knew he was screwed. This was what their doom looked like and no matter what angle he looked at it all from, there was never going to be a way for them to recover from this.
No one would understand just the magnitude of the hell that they had been thrust into because this was not okay.
"You need to stay still, Igor. Very still... and create the portal. You can still do it, sire. You can get us out of here," Akila said as he looked at his master. He knew that only Igor was ever going to be able to create the portal back home because he was a high-ranking Lycan and had all the credentials.
If Akila breached the borders, he would be captured and kept in holding for ten years before he ever saw the light of the day for his trial. It was ire that the mad King had set up to make sure that law and order were respected in Kawai.
Oh, but the rules of that same Kawai would be damaging them soon because this was not something that Akila was sure he could be able to deal with. Especially not with the way that Igor’s caramel scent was thickening and fast.
Igor’s desire and arousal were obvious and Akila hated it. He hated the way that he was being reeled in by his boss, and he hated the way that the wolves were staring at Igor like he was just another omega for them.
The wolves had surrounded them and Akila and Igor weren’t at their best just yet. It could have been easier if Igor was sane enough to fight, but right now, the Lycan Chief was leaning into everyone who seemed to smell like lavender.
He looked so pathetic and desperate that it was heartbreaking. He looked nothing like the Lycan Chief that the realm had known had had been scared of.
"Stay away, or I will kill you," Akila warned as he looked at Igor who was not sure where the fuck he was supposed to be right now. He needed to make sure that the Lycan thief was alright, but even that seemed to be hectic for the both of them.
None of this was bound to make any sense, but they had to fight. Or rather, Akila had to fight to make it all better. He had to try and make sure that the Lycan Chief wasn’t attacked.
He wanted to reason with the wolves but the darkness in their eyes for the one man who had hurt them countless times was more than obvious to the point that it was purely disgusting.
This wasn’t what they had signed up for. This wasn’t what life was supposed to be like. This wasn’t how shit was meant to be, and frankly, it was so out of pocket and disappointing on so many levels.
Someone needed to get a hold of the wolves and keep them at bay.
They needed to be reminded of what was at stake, but what was it this time?
"You can kill a few of us, say a hundred, but the other fifty will fight you and beat you. You can’t kill that army while trying to protect your little omega, the one that is supposed to be strong enough to fight you.
"You can’t even do that," Mick said and Akila groaned out in frustration.
Igor was proving to be softer by the minute and it was an uphill battle between their sanities. This wasn’t what Akila had signed up for earlier and definitely not when he had agreed to come along to the bounty just the two of them.
If they had been the usual squad, the werewolves wouldn’t have been that proud. They wouldn’t have tried shit with them, but it was an unfortunate truth that this was what they were getting reduced to.
No one knew what tomorrow would be but for what the ending would be, it was getting pretty hypnotic as Akila was slowing himself too. This was not okay.
"I am warning you. Don’t try that, because you will regret it," Akila warned but it was pointless because these were wolves who had already lost everything and who had been dealt the worst set of cards by the fates.
They quite literally had nothing left to lose and even their lives didn’t mean a lot to them. That was something that made them more dangerous than anything that Akila had ever encountered.
It wasn’t fair.
It wasn’t okay.
It wasn’t cool, but it was what life looked like from the other side of the mirror that no one wanted to be standing at. This was athletic on all fronts and the depression was obvious. They were in danger.
"Igor, you need to snap out of this. Tamiko isn’t here and you need to stay calm," Akila scolded as the wolves closed in.
Desperately, Akila created a portal that led them away from the wolves and close to the borders. But even that didn’t seem to help as much, thanks to the count of wolves around them.
They may now have been close enough to Mick and Terrian but they were still determined and wanted a taste of the first Lycan omega in the Lycan lands after so many years.
This was madness and Akila despised the way that shit was turning out for them.
This wasn’t how life was supposed to be, no.
This wasn’t what they had long subscribed to.
This wasn’t what he had thought his life would be like and yet here he was, a man who was fighting so desperately to protect his protector, and that honestly, a lot.
Akila was trying his very best not to grab the Lycan and bed him right here and then. Oh, but Igor’s scent was definitely meeting the goal of driving them nuts with desire, and Akila wasn’t sure how long he could hide.
"You can’t run from us. Just give us the omega and we will forget what you and that damn omega have done to us and our families," Terrian mocked as he reached for Akila and Akila.
In an attempt to keep Igor safe, Akila created a bubble and strapped Igor in it. Keeping him steady, Akila fought the wolves. It was nasty, but when he succeeded, he was met with angry wolves. They looked like they could tear him in half.
But even then, Akila fought.
He didn’t know how long he fought, but when the darkness came at him, Akila couldn’t resist. Perhaps it was because of the branch that had been used to hit the back of his head that was keeping him stable. Oh, but this wasn’t alright.
"I’m so sorry, master," Akila whispered before he let go.
