Chapter 210: Of Beautiful Moments that Would Last

[KAWAI]

"Well, I am an Alpha, and Igor is a mere Omega, your majesty. You more than anyone knows the dynamics of power in the realm eight?" Gabe said as he looked at Tamiko, the one man who was fighting to hold his sanity back.

He knew that Gabe was trying to fuck with him and it was obvious. Tamiko didn’t have the time to play the games that Gabriel was suggesting, but at the same time, looking at the smug look on Gabe’s face.

It was tempting to wipe that smirk off.

Tamiko wasn’t sure what his father was playing at with all of this, but he needed to see what the prize of it would be. So many things were happening at the same time and Tamiko knew that he had to take a stand.

With Danny here as the new Lycan of Kawai, it was not going to be a walk in the park.

Rebellion was expected and it wasn’t about to be the good kings. That was unsettling on so many fronts and it was something that Tamiko had hoped to never run into, but fate, oh, fate, was a player and a challenger of smithers over and over.

"Oh, Gabriel. I know who you are. I know you are a good Alpha, an excellent one. In fact, you are one of the werewolf Alphas ranked at the top in the realm, aren’t you?" King Zaffuto began and Gabriel smiled at the king.

He has always been a sucker for praise and having to be praised by the devil himself for his abilities was something that gave Gabele hope. It made his way to rave to the thing that he was a better mate than Kosta, which was never going to happen.

Maybe he was counting on the king’s restlessness to prove that there was always going to be more than they would ever be allowed to set their eyes on. Perhaps the king would play right into that, but this was Zaffuto Hinata.

The smile on Gabriel’s face didn’t make him forget what he had learned about the pack that had made his son suffer the most. The King was never one with a short memory and his vengeance would be one of a king.

"Yes, Your Majesty. I am a very good Alpha," Gabe beamed gladly.

But that was also how Tamiko knew this was a trap for Gabriel Grealor. Even the blind could see that the King who hated wolves had resorted to being kind to the one man who had caused his son more damage than peace.

It was hectic on so many fronts and regardless of what happened, there wasn’t ever going to be a way out for them.

Gabriel should have been careful not to fall into the mad king’s lap like that. He should have tried to fight for his place instead of learning not the one thing that the man had laid out so well for him.

Hell, even Danny and Sanjiro who were staring were confused as to how Gabriel Grealor was unable to see for himself that this here was the worst thing that he was being roped into.

No one would be able to save him from this chaos. No matter how hard he wanted to run, there wasn’t a place in the realm that would ever feel like home for him. Never again.

"But Gabriel," the King indeed, before continuing, "you are also the powerful Alpha that broke my son’s heart first after your father broke my Liana’s heart. Isn’t it ironic that you want a position as high as the prince consort when your family is full of traitors?"

The King was not the man to be trusted on some any occasions and Gambrel should have learned that from the moment he had been certain to have read all the books on the mad Zaffuto Hinata.

He should have trusted the books instead of thinking that the man wouldn’t ever show up again, and now here he was, with all the power in the realm and ready to mess up so many lives. He was not going to forgive or forget what had happened to Tamiko.

It was a truth that they should have leaned into and yet as he looked at the King now, Gabe couldn’t help but be shocked at the way that the man was calm while talking the worst of the worst.

The reputation of Grealor had grown so fast mostly because of the outcast that had been used to please any and all visitors of Grealor. Tamiko being the realtor slave was the one thing that many people had traveled far and wide to come and see.

They had wanted to see what the outcast looked like and, on many occasions, they had wanted to buy him for ridiculous prices. However, even then, the Alpha Ashton hadn’t ever taken a price for Tamiko.

Instead, he had insisted that the kid was too precious as a Grealor outcast that he would ever be as any member or any other pack out there.

It was something so simple but oh that had sealed the fate of a kid so young and defenseless against the worst of the worst. It was the harshest thing that they had ever forced Tamiko through and Gabriel had been too reluctant.

Perhaps that was why he was suddenly seeing the King for the madman he was, or maybe Gabe thought that this was tested for him. Oh, but he was crazy if he thought that was what Zaffuto Hinata was aiming for right now.

"What?" Gabe asked as if he didn’t already know that this would come one way or the other. He was bound to see for himself the chaos that had been strewn into him.

He was bound to have endured the madness that was coming but even then, with all the sights that had been there for him, the man had chosen to be partially blind.

Well, this time, the brightness of his doom was born to make him understand the specifics of a life that wasn’t to be messed with. It was a simple case but it was also just as components and no one would come to save him, not even his very shocked father dearest.

"I may be the most unstable and unhinged bastard in the realm, Gabriel. But there is one thing that I am not. And that is a traitor, Alpha wolf," King Zaffuto said calmly like he was talking about what the weather included.

It was not as threatening and that scared the hell out of Gabe. He had started to realize how tense the space was, the war in the largest room in the entirety of the realm, and yet even then he felt like the wall was closing in on him.

The warriors who were in the room looked ready to do whatever the fuck Zaffuto wanted of them. It was crazy how shit had pushed him this far, but he had made the choice on his own. He had struck the prince first and now this was the price to be paid.

Perhaps it wasn’t as bad as it seemed, no?

"Slice up your palms, we don’t have all day. Don’t work, we didn’t bring you here to kill you. It would be pointless killing you when the entirety of Grealor isn’t watching. When we come for you, you will know.

"You will definitely know and we’ll make sure of it," Lord Sadako said with a smile.
