Chapter 183: Tear Me To Pieces... Skin To Bone
[KAWAI]
"Don’t touch him. Don’t hurt him. Don’t you dare hurt my Kosta," Tamiko growled out slowly in warning and there was nothing that happened. The Lycans were still having fun with him. Suddenly Kosta was the tool for the joke.
Tamiko could hear Danny cursing at the Lycans for what they were doing. Calling out the king for not stopping them. Then again, even in his anger Daniel Belova knew better than to expose the king and Tamiko’s real relationship to the people of Kawai.
He knew it wasn’t his secret to tell and if he dared, then Tamiko would never once forgive him. It was a horrible truth, a cruel reality and he hoped that the king would step up.
Watching Tamiko struggle to get up while Kosta stays on his knees, his caramel scent engulfing the unmated Lycans and the mated ones. Hell, even Danny felt his wolf jump at Kosta’s scent.
It was not something that he had expected but then what else was he supposed to do when this was his naturalistic?
"The big bad barbarian... has always been an omega Lycan? How disappointing for someone with so much power and who has been known for his brutality. It makes me wonder if you won your bounties the right way;
"... or if you slept your way through the bounties," one of the ministers said and that was the last straw for Tamiko. He couldn’t take it anymore. He just couldn’t stand what they were saying about his Kosta anymore.
So, with one last prayer, Tamiko willed himself to get up. He channeled all his rage from all the years before. The years when he was being bullied by Grealor and forced to be a slave.
He knew that if he didn’t react, he would be forced to be a slave like him and Tamiko would die first before letting his Kosta be reduced to what he had been saved from. Kosta had saved him and Tamiko would forever protect him.
Nature truly worked in mysterious ways.
"I’ll have your throat if you say another word about my omega," Tamiko growled out slowly and Kosta whimpered. It had been years since he had truly acknowledged what he had one born as.
He had struggled to live in a man-eat-man society and he had risen above the ranks by hiding his true nature.
Omega Lycans were very rare in every sense. They were the kind of Lycans that were marveled at and the king that everyone wanted to have a taste of.
If an omega Lycan was mated to a weak Lycan, then they would be doomed because there were chances that the omega would end up in her house. Oh, how things were complicated.
"An omega mated to a rogue," the ministers jeered as they mocked the Lycan chief. To them, Kosta was no longer the most powerful Lycan chief in history. Instead, he was just another omega.
Oh, how the fates had changed and how all of this was cruel, but Tamiko would have their heads, it was clear.
"Kosta... look at me, baby. Focus on me, just me," Tamiko said as he struggled to get up. He could feel his power merging; he could feel all the energy that had been hidden and blocked making a show.
He could feel his gate of energy opening and when it finally did to the fullest, the Lycans saw a blur rush between the Lycan ministers, before it settled closer to Kosta, breaking the chains that had been holding the Lycan chief, and then the blur disappeared in a moment.
It was all so fast that even the Lycans hadn’t gotten to see what had happened. One moment they were laughing, and the next, they were all silent. The shock on their faces was obvious and it wasn’t just because of the blur anymore.
Where the ministers had once stood, was a bloody puddle of dismembered bodies and thick spurts of blood and meat. The skulls and bones were unidentifiable, as they had been crushed so badly that all that was left was white ash instead of the skulls.
"Holy shit," Danny voiced as he looked at the mess right behind him.
The guards who had been laughing, and holding him back were a part of the mess behind him and for a moment, Danny wasn’t sure if he needed to be glad that this happened—
... or be scared that Tamiko had indeed become the son of his father in mere seconds.
Then again, the rage that Tamiko had felt was the kind that any mate or erasthai would have felt if the person they loved had been put in that position; it was unhinged, wild, and borderline crazy.
The Lycans were too shocked to even make a move.
And right then, as the silence had gotten so loud, the Lycan king... laughed. He was happy, something that was strange because everyone who had seen him in the past few minutes had watched him be emotionless for the longest time.
He looked like he had just been there to make sure that this was a railway. He looked proud and happy like he had prayed for this moment and it had finally happened.
"What the hell just happened?" Danny asked despite knowing that this was Tamiko’s doing. Then again, the mess that had been left behind in just a simple blur was too much to the point that Danny had to ask around because he was sure he was hallucinating.
"Have a good evening, Kawai," King Zaffuto said as he got up from his seat and walked over to where Danny was.
Daniel Belova was too shocked to even move this time. He knew the king would probably try to kill him or do whatever there was to appease the Lycans. So, he waited for his fate.
He waited with bated breaths as the Lycan king made calculated steps towards him. It was something the speed of the hell out of him, but then what he hadn’t expected was for the king to give him a hand.
It was like the king was helping him out; telling him that all would be fine, reminding him that the world was truly a good place despite the mess that had been triggered.
"Our work is done here, Daniel. Come along, let’s go prepare the dinner table. My son will be waiting for the both of us, little wolf," the king said endearingly as he looked at Danny like this was just a normal for them.
Danny looked at the king curiously as if this was just another dystopian reality. Surely the king could have been nicer to him like that, right? More than just another figment of his imagination?
Was this the moment when the king would kill him now that Tamiko had disappeared before him?
Was this the moment when all his hell was finally doomed?
"What?" Danny asked, unsure of what the king meant by that.
The most unpredictable man was suddenly being nice to him and it was uncomfortable as fuck. So, Danny let out a forced breath, and when he failed, he let the darkness that that had been threatening to take over him, lead.
The werewolf beta fainted in a place filled with raging Lycans.
The best part of the chaos?
The king graciously carried Danny away from the assembly ground like he truly cared.
And the Lycans were left with the second shock of the day.
The Lycan prince was back.
And they had managed to piss him off since day one.
Just great.
