Chapter 583: Teasing Xin-ge
Cursing Xiang Yu under her breath, she regretted listening to him. Of course, Da Hei was trustworthy. The only snake in their faction was Xiang Yu.
Five minutes ticked away in silence, and then, just as her frustration peaked, she spotted movement below. Su Jing crouched low, heart pounding as she brought her binoculars to her eyes.
Armed cars rolled in, their sleek bodies glinting under the sparse streetlights. Men and women spilt from the vehicles, muscles tense under the weight of their weapons. Each carried an iron cage that rattled, the growls of fierce beasts echoing through the air.
Her breath hitched as fear wrestled with adrenaline. They were here to catch a thief, but Su Jing had no such plans. She watched, stomach churning, as they disappeared into the vault. Gritting her teeth, she felt the heat of anger rise within her.
Without a second thought, she leapt from the edge of the building, her body merging with the darkness below. The ground welcomed her quietly, and she faded into the shadows.
Without hesitation, she pulled out a cigarette from her pocket and fumbled for her lighter. The flame flickered to life, casting a soft glow against her determined face.
With the cigarette perched between her fingers, she inhaled deeply, the smoke curling into the night air like her frustrations. The red ember lit up as she took a drag, illuminating her features for just a moment. She wasnt prepared to hear Xiang Yu say ’I told you so’ with a gloating expression.
"Fuck," she swore wishing she could tear Da Hei to pieces herself.

Meanwhile, Xiang Yu was in a restaurant worlds away from the iron-wrought city. Elegant chandeliers cast a warm glow over carefully set tables, and the air was thick with laughter and the clinking of glasses. He sat with Han Xin and the girls their surroundings a shimmering contrast to the rugged life in Ironwrought.
Sanguine Wardens’ territory pulsed with life – it was a haven for the elite, shielded by walls that held secrets and treasures beyond imagination. Access required valuables, and Han Xin had not flinched when he dropped a case of nuclei at the gates, buying their passage into luxury.
Though they had masked their identities, blending into average faces, someone still managed to flirt with Han Xin. It was the woman at the gates responsible for taking payments. When Han Xin opened that case it was as though her heart was set on fire and she began to act coquettish.
Unfortunately her efforts were wasted on the straight man of steel. Xiang Yu, on the other hand, leaned back in his chair, his curiosity piqued. He noted how she seemed oblivious to the ring that glittered on Han Xin’s finger.
Just as he opened his mouth to comment, Mei wrapped her arms around Han Xin’s one, her voice sweet and innocent, "Father, are we almost done yet?" Lian chimed in, her tone sharp and protective, "He is taken, and that’s my dad."
Xiang Yu chuckled softly at their banter. They were like little cubs ready to pounce on her and tear her apart. Han Xin was so confused. He just glanced at Xiang Yu with a smile and then back at the girls. "Let’s go," he said, squeezing Xiang Yu’s hand.
With that, they decided to indulge themselves in the luxury of the city, all while plotting their strategic move in the days to come.
The first night they wandered through extravagant shops, trying on shimmering clothes and sparkling jewellery.
On the second night, they found themselves on a restaurant rooftop overlooking the bio-domes, the city lights twinkling like stars scattered across a sky of glass.
Lian and Mei were dressed in pretty dresses
looking like little princesses and they indeed got the princess treatment.
The aroma of grilled steak filled the air, rich and inviting. With his steady hands, Xiang Yu expertly sliced through the tender meat. His face radiated warmth, resembling that of a loving father tending to his children. The steak glistened as he carefully placed the cuts onto each of the plates in front of Mei and Lian.
"Here you go," he said, his voice soft and caring.
"Thank you," Lian replied, her eyes bright with anticipation.
"Thank you very much!" Mei added, her fork poised to stab into the perfectly cooked steak.
Across the table, Han Xin worked on his salmon, focused yet playful. He picked up a bite and, with a teasing glint in his eye, fed it to Xiang Yu. As Xiang Yu leaned forward, he took the piece eagerly, a smile spreading across his face. The simple act drew laughter from the twins.
"Aww, too cute," Lian cooed, her cheeks flushed with delight.
"So romantic!" Mei giggled, watching the exchange.
Han Xin coughed softly, but the tips of his ears betrayed him, turning as red as ripe cherries.
"Brother is so shy," Lian remarked, a mischievous grin dancing on her lips.
Xiang Yu chuckled, shaking his head. "Girls, stop teasing him."
Yet, his eyes sparkled with mischief as he subtly found Han Xin’s leg beneath the table. Slowly, he slid his leg up and down Han Xin’s thigh, a silent invitation wrapped in flirtation.
Han Xin felt the warmth of Xiang Yu’s touch, a jolt of surprise running through him. He dared a glance across the table, catching Xiang Yu’s flirtatious smile, and quickly lowered his gaze, trying to regain composure.
But Xiang Yu was just getting started. With a bold movement, he removed his shoe, letting his leg glide further up Han Xin’s thigh, pressing against him in a way that stole the breath from Han Xin’s lungs. Startled, Han Xin nearly choked on his food.
With a discreet urgency, he grabbed Xiang Yu’s leg under the table, mouthing the words, "Behave."
Xiang Yu’s lips curled into an impish smirk, his demeanour only encouraging Han Xin’s trembling resolve. Despite the laughter of the twins, Han Xin couldn’t resist the heat of the moment. He let his fingertips tease the skin beneath Xiang Yu’s pants, eliciting a barely contained shiver.
Xiang Yu tried to focus on Lian and Mei’s chatter, but the delicate tickling made it nearly impossible. He bit his lip, the sweet pressure driving him a little wild. In a dance of retreat, he tried to pull his leg back, but the sudden movement caught the twins’ attention.
"What’s wrong?" Lian asked, her brow furrowing with concern.
Xiang Yu waved a hand dismissively, his heart racing. "Nothing, I thought I felt something move underneath the table."
"Let me take a look?" Mei leaned forward, her curiosity piqued.
"No, no, no, it’s nothing," Xiang Yu said quickly, raising his hand to stop them, laughter bubbling just beneath his words.
