Chapter 382: Getting pampered
Chapter 382: Getting pampered
Who would have thought one day he would witness an AI picking a fight with his boyfriend.
Han Xin’s face sank, and Hex was so terrified that it went offline like it was never there. What was it thinking picking a fight with the king of hell?
"Is my smile that ugly?" Han Xin asked.
Xiang Yu turned his head sharply and said, "No, no, no, it’s not."
"Are you lying to me?" Han Xin asked.
"I am not. What I meant was you have such a handsome smile, and I want to see it in the picture. Come on, otherwise, the girls will think I forced you to take one," Xiang Yu explained.
Han Xin had been told before that his smile was handsome and dazzling, but hearing it from Xiang Yu made him so happy that he actually smiled.
"Yes, just like that. Stunning," Xiang Yu said.
He looked at the floating screen in front of them and took a couple of pictures. Han Xin, thinking they were done, glanced at Xiang Yu, who was exuding a magnetic allure. Xiang Yu’s side profile was mesmerising.
Every chiselled feature seemed sculpted by the hands of the gods, from the way the light highlighted his cheekbone to the gentle curve at the corner of his lips that hinted at a deeper warmth.
Lost in this moment, Han Xin forgot about everything, and for a heartbeat, the world around him ceased to exist. It was then that Xiang Yu turned, catching Han Xin in a daze. The light in his eyes shifted, curiosity piqued by Han Xin’s dazed expression. A gentle smile crept onto his lips, one that seemed to illuminate the room.
"What?" Xiang Yu asked, his tone playful yet tinged with a genuine edge of inquiry as if he could feel the weight of Han Xin’s gaze.
Startled, Han Xin’s cheeks flushed, and he scrambled for words while fumbling awkwardly. "Nothing," he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper as he opened the packed food he got from the kitchen.
Xiang Yu smiled as he sent the pictures to Lian and Mei, and the twins flooded the chat with heart-eye emojis. If he had known they would be this excited, he wouldn’t have told them that Han Xin was with him. The twins’ excitement was so palpable that they even wanted a video call.
Xiang Yu replied, "There, happy?"
Lian quickly responded, "No, it’s not enough. We want a video call."
Mei chimed in, "Yes, we want to see Brother Xin and say hi to him."
"No, he is busy. Go to sleep," Xiang Yu insisted before minimising the chat interface and checked his order that was on the way. He bit his thumb with an evil smirk on his lips. Han Xin suddenly felt a bad premonition. That look of Xiang Yu’s face was like he was plotting something.
Xiang Yu glanced at Han Xin and he was a bit surprised to see that Han Xin wasn’t eating yet, almost like he was waiting for something. Closing the floating screen under the twins’ complaints, Xiang Yu asked, "What’s wrong?"
Han Xin was always straightforward and didn’t usually stir trouble, but now he felt a rebellious urge. He recalled how Xiang Yu had placed food in front of Sienna at dinner, and suddenly he wanted to be pampered. Xiang Yu asked, "Why aren’t you eating? Don’t you like it?"
He suddenly did what he always did when the twins didn’t like their food. He picked up the cutlery and tasted it to see if something was wrong. The food tasted fine, so he put down the fork and said, "It’s really good. If you don’t like it, I will tell them to make you something else."
Han Xin wanted to ask for attention but was too embarrassed to be direct. He decided on a roundabout method. "No, the food is fine. It’s just that my hand hurt after I caught the glass."
He was exaggerating. He felt no pain, but he wanted Xiang Yu to care for him. Isn’t that what someone in love should do? If Xiang Yu loved him, he should take care of him a little.
Xiang Yu didn’t disappoint. He grabbed Han Xin’s hand and saw that it was a little red. "Let me get you some medicine," Xiang Yu said. Han Xin could have stopped him, but he didn’t. Xiang Yu brought over the ointment and sat beside him, an arm’s length of space between them, yet it felt electric.
"Let me take care of it," he offered, his voice low and steady, a perfect balance of authority and gentleness. The sight of Xiang Yu’s focused expression brought a flutter to Han Xin’s heart. Xiang Yu’s fingers were deft, brushing lightly against the skin of his palm as he opened the ointment. Applying it with care, Xiang Yu peered closely at the redness that seemed to be spreading. His long lashes cast delicate shadows over his cheeks, enhancing the severity of his concern.
Han Xin found himself captivated by the way Xiang Yu’s eyebrows knitted together slightly in concentration, how the corner of his mouth twitched up in a soft, genuine smile. Han Xin held his breath, every second stretching into eternity as the warmth of Xiang Yu’s touch lingered on his skin.
"Does it hurt when I press it like this?" Xiang Yu asked, the softness of his voice almost a whisper, as he smeared the ointment across the tender skin with fingers far gentler than usual.
"No... it doesn’t." Han Xin’s voice was barely above a murmur, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he surrendered to the tenderness of the moment.
Xiang Yu looked up, his dark eyes meeting Han Xin’s for a brief moment, and something unspoken passed between them, a flicker like the first stars emerging in the night sky.
"There," he said, finally easing back once he was satisfied with his work. His fingers lingered for just a heartbeat longer than necessary.
"You shouldn’t come to my defence next time. I don’t like it when you get hurt," Xiang Yu said.
Han Xin replied with a simple "mn," but he knew he would do it again without a second thought. Their gazes held for another heartbeat, a moment fraught with intimacy.
