Chapter 342: Vinegar all around

Chapter 342: Vinegar all around

Pain exploded through Han Xin, knocking the wind from his lungs and sending him stumbling back. Dazed but resolute, he quickly regained his footing, his eyes narrowing like a predator’s.

He countered with a sweeping kick aimed at the robot’s leg, but it deftly sidestepped, its artificial intelligence calculating Han Xin’s movements in real time. The robot retaliated, its knee striking Han Xin in the chest. He grunted, the impact reverberating through him, but he refused to fall. Instead, he seized the momentum, launching a powerful uppercut that connected with the robot’s chin, sending it staggering back.

The fight escalated from there, a brutal dance

of strikes and counters. Han Xin found himself on the defensive more often than not, the robot’s relentless assault pushing him to the brink.

It fired a flurry of punches, each blow connecting with precision, forcing Han Xin to absorb the pain and respond with sheer determination. He ducked under a sweeping punch, pivoted, and delivered a solid kick to the robot’s midsection, the metallic frame bending slightly under the force.

But the robot was relentless. It absorbed the hits, its programming calculating and adjusting and it retaliated with a series of rapid jabs, each one landing with a sickening thud against Han Xin’s body. He felt the sting of bruises forming, but he stayed on his feet, his spirit unyielding.

It then delivered a swift kick that caught Han Xin in the side. He grunted but refused to go down, pivoting on his heel and countering with a spinning back fist that connected hard against the robot’s jaw

The fight intensified further. It was a brutal exchange of strikes, each combatant landing hits with relentless ferocity. Han Xin ducked under the robot’s punches, feeling the rush of wind as it barely missed him, and he responded with a knee strike that landed squarely on the robot’s midsection again.

The impact echoed through the arena, but the robot quickly recovered, delivering a crushing blow to Han Xin’s shoulder, sending him crashing to the ground.

Gritting his teeth, Han Xin pushed himself up, shaking off the dizziness. He charged again, his fists flying in a flurry of strikes, each one fueled by his resolve. The robot blocked and countered, landing several more hits that left Han Xin reeling, but each time he fell, he rose with newfound determination.

With a roar of defiance, Han Xin executed a spinning kick that caught the robot off guard, its sensors momentarily miscalculating the trajectory. The kick connected with a satisfying clang, sending the robot staggering back. Seizing the moment, Han Xin launched himself forward, channelling every ounce of his strength into a final, decisive blow.

He jumped, twisting in mid-air, and landed a powerful strike to the robot’s head, the impact causing sparks to fly as the machine stumbled and fell to one knee. Han Xin was battered and bruised, panting heavily, but he stood tall, adrenaline coursing through him.

The robot, now faltering, attempted to rise, but Han Xin was quicker. He moved in, grappling the robot’s arm and forcing it down while delivering a flurry of punches that struck with precision. Each hit resonated with the echoes of his determination, until finally, with one last surge of strength, he locked the robot in a submission hold, wrenching its arm behind its back.

As he pinned the robot down, Han Xin’s fierce gaze flicked to Xiang Yu, who sat in the stands, his expression a mix of admiration and worry. In that moment, Han Xin felt a surge of intensity, as if he were proving something not just to himself, but to Xiang Yu as well.

Xiang Yu whispered something to the twins beside him, and they nodded before darting out of the stands, concern etched on their faces. The lieutenant’s voice cut through the tension, "Time!" but Han Xin didn’t let go.

He shifted his gaze toward Maurice, who was

seated just in front of Xiang Yu. The palpable fierceness emanating from Han Xin made Maurice hesitate. He immediately got up as if compelled to leave, but Xiang Yu reached out, stopping him, his voice barely a whisper.

With a final twist, Han Xin nearly broke the

robot’s arm, his frustration boiling over, but just then, the lieuernant’s voice cut through the chaos, commanding him to let go. Reluctantly, Han Xin released his hold, stepping back as the robot powered down, its systems unable to cope with the ferocity of Han Xin’s resolve.

Han Xin walked out of the arena, a gloomy shadow looming over him. He settled into a seat furthest from Xiang Yu, his back turned, refusing to meet his gaze.

EARLIER ON

Xiang Yu had been paying attention to Han Xin’s training session, sitting at the edge of his seat. Each time the robot struck Han Xin, Xiang Yu felt the urge to tear it limb from limb. He was so anxious and enthralled at the same time that the emotions were confusing. "He can use the healing capsule after this, right?" Xiang Yu asked Lian and Mei.

Mei replied, "Master, you weren’t paying attention. Lieutenant Sian said we aren’t allowed to use the healing capsule unless it’s for life-threatening injuries."

Lian chimed in, "Yeah, she said we need to remember the pain."

A female cadet behind them, who couldn’t stand it either, said, "That monster! I am an alpha, damn it, not a machine."

When Han Xin was done with the fight, Xiang Yu turned to Lian and Mei and whispered, "Go get your father some ointment or anything you can find. That strike in the abdomen seems serious."

Lian took the opportunity to bargain, "Can we get candy?"

Mei supported her sister, "Yes, we need energy."

Xiang Yu knew this had nothing to do with energy; they just wanted candy. "Fine, one piece each and hurry back," he said.

Lian and Mei slipped out of class without being seen and ran off. Just then, Maurice got up in a hurry. Maurice had seen that gaze coming from Han Xin and felt like it was a warning, but what was he threatening him about? The only thing that made sense was Xiang Yu.

Maurice thought that Han Xin didn’t want him to talk to Xiang Yu anymore, so he got up. Who would have thought Xiang Yu would stop him and ask, "Where are you going?"

Maurice had to think fast so he said, "I I I am going to the bathroom, Your Highness."

Xiang Yu replied, "Okay," and waved him away as he leaned back into his seat. Xiang Yu occasionally glanced at Han Xin, but Han Xin didn’t even look at him, not even once. He did meet Fang Aungier’s gaze and raised his middle finger at him. Fang Aungier’s face sank, and he looked away.

Xiang Yu chuckled like an evil villain, finding this entertaining, only to be met with Han Xin’s piercing gaze. Xiang Yu thought, ’Now you want to look at me when I am at my worst behaviour.’
