Chapter 314: Conquering another alpha

The professor nodded. "Let’s take a walk." Xiang Yu followed him out, signalling for the twins to follow behind.

The professor suddenly put on a thoughtful expression and said, "Your Highness. I must admit, I was impressed by your knowledge today. You’ve shown a depth of understanding that I didn’t expect."

Xiang Yu smiled slightly. "Thank you, Professor. I have been studying hard." His smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. That’s because he could smell this professor’s hypocrisy from a mile away but he still put on a smile.

Lian and Mei trailed at a respectful distance, but as their master walked ahead with the professor, noises from the next lecture hall drew their attention. They stopped following and turned toward the lecture hall.

From the gaps in the door, they could see Han Xin surrounded by three alphas blocking his path. The leader among them was mocking Han Xin. This leader was from the noble house of Aungier, a family whose power and influence were nothing to scoff at.

Like some of the noble families, they believed that Imperial Lord Xiang and his lineage were undeserving of the throne, especially considering the Imperial Lord’s origins.

The noble families believed that since Imperial Lord Han died without an heir, one of the noble families should have taken the throne. However, Xiang Wen had the imperial seal embedded in his heart, given to him by Imperial Lord Han on his deathbed.

Since it couldn’t be taken by force, it must have meant that Imperial Lord Han had truly chosen Xiang Wen as his successor. This was one of the reasons the noble families hadn’t rebelled, but the more bad decisions the Imperial Lord made, the greater their desire to rain chaos upon the imperial capital.

To vent their rage, someone like Aungier Fang couldn’t directly express his dissatisfaction with Imperial Lord Xiang, so he targeted Xiang Yu. But since Xiang Yu could potentially become the future Imperial Lord and was known to hold grudges, Fang chose the next best target the person who followed Xiang Yu like a lapdog Han Xin.

Fang Aungier sneered and said in a mocking tone, "Did you quarrel with your boyfriend?" One of Fang Aungier’s underlings chimed in, "Aww, did you two break up?" The entire time, Han Xin maintained an air of indifference, as if this had nothing to do with him.

Fang Aungier wasn’t deterred by Han Xin’s indifference. He pressed his palm against the wall, effectively wall-slamming Han Xin. With a disgusting look in his eyes, Fang Aungier asked, "Tell me, since you two are in that kind of relationship, who bites who, huh?"

Another underlings laughed obscenely. "I heard that an alpha and alpha relationship is unlike anything in this world," he said. "Like forbidden sweet nectar," added another. The third underling chimed in, "The feeling of conquering another alpha is so addictive that one can’t kick the habit."

Fang Aungier continued staring at Han Xin. "That trash prince is too prideful to allow himself to be pressed down by another. This means you are the one who is being pressed down. How fascinating. I wonder if you taste as sweet as an omega."

Han Xin was extremely angry, but he didn’t show it on his face. This was a daily occurrence, so he didn’t care as much. But the question was, how did this idiot know about his private dealings with Xiang Yu, and how was he so well informed?

It seemed someone who knew a lot had spread the information to the nobles to embarrass him. But no, something didn’t sound right. At this time, his status was so low that it could only mean they were targeting Xiang Yu, and he was just a means to an end.

Han Xin was about to sneer and tear him a new one when Wu Lian and Wu Mei appeared at the door. Lian said, "If you are so eager to try, I can show you how a powerful alpha conquers another alpha." Her smile was villainous.

Mei chimed in, "How about it? Care to try?"

Fang Aungier felt a chill all over his skin. For some reason, he felt like if he stayed any longer, he might lose his skin. His premonition was indeed right. Lian planned on skinning him and gifting Han Xin with a wallet.

Fang Aungier knew that he would get into trouble if he displeased the Wu twins, so he just sneered and walked away with his underlings. Fang Aungier didn’t forget to say to Han Xin, "Your charm is so good, you already have new backers right after dumping one."

Han Xin could have handled these three by himself but still thanked the twins. "Thanks, but next time don’t worry about my affairs," he said.

Lian wanted to say something, but Han Xin had already turned to walk away. Lian and Mei, who wanted to put in a good word for their master, were left speechless. Just then, Han Xin turned around and said, "Friendly advice: if I were you, I would stop hanging around His Highness. He will use you, and nothing good will come from being around him." After saying that, Han Xin left.

Meanwhile, Xiang Yu had no idea that Han Xin was bad-mouthing him behind his back. Xiang Yu was suffering the consequences of revealing his skills to the professor. The man enthusiastically expressed his desire to see Xiang Yu’s final score improve.

Xiang Yu knew that the professor was not doing this because he was worried for his students but rather for prestige. He just wanted to be that professor who brought the crown prince back on the straight and narrow. Xiang Yu gave him a perfunctory nod, just wanting to end this conversation faster.

Just when he thought he would die from the professor’s endless chatter he was saved by by the chancellor who had been looking for the professor. Xiang Yu heaved a sigh as the twins caught up with him. They hooked his arm happily on either side. Lian said, "Master let’s go and eat."

Mel chimed in saying, "Yeah I am so hungry I can eat an entire hippo."
