Chapter 312: How about my cooking vs. nutrient supplements?
As Han Xin spoke, his voice was clear and confident, captivating the audience. There were students who were chattering in excitement expressing their admiration and infatuation with him. Xiang Yu couldn’t even blame them for coveting his man. He was the very embodiment of a Male god.
Xiang Yu’s eyes followed every movement, every gesture. The admiration in his gaze was unmistakable, even if he tried to hide it behind a mask of indifference.
Han Xin’s speech was eloquent and filled with passion and dedication to the Republic. He spoke of unity, strength, and the future they were all working towards. Xiang Yu couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride. He wished he had a fan board that read That’s My Man and waved it around for all to see.
When the speech ended, the assembly erupted in applause. Han Xin stepped down from the podium, and Xiang Yu’s eyes followed him until he disappeared from view. The chancellor dismissed the students, and the hall began to empty.
Xiang Yu didn’t know that the assembly was just the beginning. He soon realised that there were far worse boring lectures than the assembly. The worst part was that the classes averaged forty-five minutes, and sometimes the lectures would be double classes.
If it weren’t for the twins being with him and the chance to see Han Xin, he might have become like the original Xiang Yu and skipped class. Why on earth would a mech pilot need to learn Cultural and Social Dynamics or Data Analysis and Cryptography?
After the fourth class, Xiang Yu cursed the Divine Emperor in his mind for bringing him to this world. The Divine Emperor, who was minding his own business, was suddenly cursed, so he said, "You watch your mouth, I didn’t do anything." Xiang Yu thought that whoever invented school needed to be beaten; this was so boring.
Lian and Mei dragged Xiang Yu along, saying, "Master, you are going to be late for the next class." Xiang Yu could tell that they were enjoying this a little too much. He had forced them to go to school in the previous world, and now it was his turn to suffer.
He was pulled to sit at the back of the lecture hall with Lian and Mei on either side. Xiang Yu lay on the table, slacking off, and asked, "How long will this class be?"
Mei pulled out the schedule on the floating screen and said, "It’s only forty-five minutes."
Xiang Yu raised his head and leaned over to take a look, as did Lian, who wanted to see too. Lian said, "Then we can go to lunch. I hope it’s not the nutrition packs again."
Mei chimed in, "Yuck, it tastes like sawdust."
The three of them were unaware that one row behind them was Han Xin, watching them. Han Xin wanted to distance himself from Xiang Yu in this life until the day he ended Xiang Yu’s life, but for the entire day, his eyes would stray in his direction. There were a lot of things about Xiang Yu that had changed, and he couldn’t help but notice.
He still slacked off like before, but he didn’t skip lectures, nor did he disturb others when he was in classes. Han Xin even saw Xiang Yu respectfully greet the professors and apologize to Professor Areli when he was reprimanded. It was incredibly puzzling.
Han Xin usually sat in the front of the lecture hall every class, but this time he sat at the back, behind Xiang Yu and the Wu twins. It was still strange seeing them get along despite their clashes with Xiang Yu in the past. Han Xin’s brows creased when he saw Xiang Yu lean against Mei’s shoulder. He suddenly had a ridiculous idea.
If Xiang Yu was indeed reborn, it would make sense that he would look for a new thigh to hug and protect him from himself in the future. Xiang Yu was an alpha, and so were both twins, but when he recalled the relationship he had with Xiang Yu, it wasn’t far-fetched that he would have the same relationship with one of the twins. Han Xin thought to himself, ’You want to use the Wu family to protect you, you must be dreaming.’
When the lecture on Xeno Combat Tactics and Alien Neutralization started, Han Xin noticed Xiang Yu and the twins acting like they were listening, but they were actually chatting and sending messages to each other. Possessed by an unknown entity, Han Xin opened another display panel on his floating screen from his communicator.
He hacked Xiang Yu’s communicator in a matter of seconds and could see what Xiang Yu could see. He wanted to know what they were talking about. They could be planning something that would ruin his plans.
Han Xin found that they were indeed planning, but it was about what they would eat for lunch. The chat went something like this:
Mei Mei: I hope they have roasted pork legs.
PrincessLi: (Drooling emoji) I want to eat pork ribs.
Mei Mei: How about you, master?
The chat went silent for a bit before Xiang Yu’s username popped up.
Yu Yu: I want to eat a salad.
Lian and Mei sent a barrage of messages saying their master was turning into a rabbit and how they despised vegetables, ranking them higher than nutrient supplements. Xiang Yu laughed softly as he typed something. A message appeared on the chat interface.
Yu Yu: How about my cooking vs. nutrient supplements?
The twins were silent for a while, refusing to look at Xiang Yu. They didn’t want to look at him, but the professor was. The professor said, "Your Highness since you know everything and don’t need to listen in class, can you come and explain how to kill a Xan’Rax?"
The entire class turned to look at him, some gloating and laughing, others mocking him. Who didn’t know that Xiang Yu was dumb? Some students already pressed record, ready to see Xiang Yu make himself into a joke. It was either Xiang Yu was going to throw a tantrum and walk out of class or be embarrassed as he stood at the podium.
Xiang Yu smiled slightly as he got up, looking calm and cool as if he really knew what the professor was talking about. When he reached the front, the professor made space for him at the podium and said, "Please proceed."
The professor, like most, didn’t really like Xiang Yu as the crown prince. He felt Xiang Yu wasn’t good enough for the throne and too weak to usher the Republic into the next generation.
If he could pick anyone, it would be Peng Xiu, but of course, she wouldn’t qualify because alphas were the preference to be heirs. The professor sneered internally as he watched Xiang Yu, who he thought was pretending to be calm.
