Chapter 277: Acting so spoilt
Xiang Yu, with his striking features and commanding presence, sat comfortably on Han Xin’s lap, his body language exuding an air of confidence. The two shared a quiet intimacy that contrasted sharply with the formal atmosphere of the office.
Agent Lu, Agent Shen, and Chief Xi sat there awkwardly, their expressions a blend of surprise and discomfort. It was a sight they had never seen before. They had never seen two men cradling in the embrace with no shame at all. They had come to find Peng Xiu not be abused by these two.
Han Xin’s fingers, deft and gentle, slid beneath the hem of Xiang Yu’s t-shirt, brushing against the defined planes of his abs. The warmth of his touch ignited a spark beneath Xiang Yu’s cool facade, prompting him to purse his lips in an effort to maintain his composure.
Han Xin pressed his forehead against Xiang Yu’s back, inhaling the intoxicating scent that clung to him like a second skin, leaving him slightly lightheaded.
"What do you want from my boyfriend?" he asked his voice a low growl. Chief Xi shifted uncomfortably, his gaze darting between the two men. He had never witnessed such a blatant display of affection in public, and it left him feeling exposed as if he had intruded upon an intimate moment meant for their eyes only.
He wasn’t alone. Agent Lu and Agent Shen looked like they wanted to be anywhere but here. They didn’t even care if Han Xin knew where Peng Xiu was anymore.
Clearing his throat, Chief Xi finally broke the silence. "We were actually looking for you," he said, his voice steady but strained. "I wanted to ask you where Peng Xiu is. She hasn’t been seen or heard from."
As Han Xin continued to fondle Xiang Yu’s skin, a smirk played at the corners of his lips, as if the question was absurd. "Why are you asking about an employee of my company?" he replied, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "I already opened a case of theft and fraud against her and fired her. Shouldn’t the police be taking care of that and not your department?"
Chief Xi sighed, frustration evident in his eyes. "Don’t do that. I know you know she was working for us."
Chief Xi felt the weight of Han Xin’s words, each one a reminder of the blurred lines between. "Don’t do that," he sighed, frustration creeping into his voice. "I know you know that she was working for us."
The corner of Han Xin’s mouth curled into a sneer, a flash of anger igniting in his eyes. "She was? So you sent her to steal money from my company and commit fraud. You have not only harassed my man but you have also been harassing me for years."
A silent moment passed, heavy with tension, as Chief Xi realized he was cornered. The room felt smaller, the air more oppressive. He had come seeking answers, but instead, he was met with resistance that was expected yet still unnerving.
"My apologies," Chief Xi finally said, his voice softer now, almost defeated. "We won’t bother you." He stood up, feeling the weight of defeat settle on his shoulders. "Just know that you are not a vigilante. If you do find her, hand her over to me. I promise she won’t see the light of day ever again."
Han Xin tightened his grip around Xiang Yu’s waist glaring at the older man. "Sure," he replied, his voice steady, unwavering.
With a final glance at Xiang Yu, Chief Xi turned and gestured for his agents to follow. As they left the office, the door clicked shut behind them leaving the couple alone.
Han Xin’s arms tightened around Xiang Yu’s waist, pulling him closer. His voice, muffled against Xiang Yu’s back, was laced with playful frustration. "Yu Yu, they are bullying me." His breath tickled Xiang Yu’s skin, stirring a warm chuckle from deep within him. The sight of Han Xin, usually so poised and confident, acting spoiled was undeniably cute.
Xiang Yu turned his head slightly, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "Do you want me to kill them?" he asked, half-joking, with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Han Xin shook his head vehemently, the movement sending his hair brushing against Xiang Yu’s shoulder. "No, I just want you to hug me." His voice was soft, almost pleading, as he nestled further into the embrace.
Xiang Yu pursed his lips, stifling a smile. "We are hugging, aren’t we?... Do you feel better now?" His heart swelled at the sight of Han Xin’s contented face buried against him, but Han Xin shook his head again, this time rubbing his forehead against Xiang Yu’s back in a gesture of affection.
Reaching behind him, Xiang Yu’s fingers found their way into Han Xin’s hair, the silky strands slipping through his fingers like water. The sensation ignited a spark of joy within him, a reminder of the simple pleasures that came with being close to the one he loved. "Is that better?" he asked, his voice low and soothing.
Han Xin turned Xiang Yu around, his hands finding their place on Xiang Yu’s lower back, massaging gently as if to ease away any lingering stress. Xiang Yu wrapped his arms around Han Xin’s neck, drawing him closer, and pressed a tender kiss to his forehead. "Better?"
"Yes," Han Xin murmured, his palm sliding up beneath Xiang Yu’s shirt, the warmth of his touch igniting a wave of affection. "You know how to coax me." Their eyes locked, Han Xin’s gaze intense and searching, as if he were peering deep into Xiang Yu’s soul.
Xiang Yu could sense the shift in the air, a thought forming behind Han Xin’s eyes. "Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked, curiosity piqued.
Han Xin rested his chin on Xiang Yu’s shoulder, his voice softening. "Would you like to meet my mum?"
The question caught Xiang Yu off guard, a surprise that brought a bright smile to his face. Without hesitation, he replied, "Yes, when should we go?"
"Tomorrow," Han Xin said, a hint of excitement in his tone. "We can take the twins with us."
A warm rush of affection flooded through Xiang Yu as he ran his fingers through Han Xin’s hair at the nape of his neck. "Then what should I bring? What does Auntie like?"
