Chapter 232: Boyfriend (aww)

Han Xin leaned against the wall, his body trembling, his heart pounding. He felt a mixture of emotions—disappointment that their intimate moment had been interrupted, but also relief that they hadn’t gone too far. He knew their attraction was powerful, but he wanted to take things at a pace that felt right for both of them.

Xiang Yu’s eyes met Han Xin’s, his gaze intense. "I will tell them to use another bathroom, okay," he said, his voice calm and reassuring. He turned to leave, but before he could take a step, Han Xin’s hand shot out, grasping his wrist with a firm yet gentle hold.

"Are you just going to leave me like this?" Han Xin’s voice was low, almost a whisper, but it carried the weight of his emotions. His once emotionless eyes now stirred with a depth of feeling, like ripples spreading across a calm lake. He rubbed Xiang Yu’s skin with his thumb, the touch both comforting and pleading.

Xiang Yu glanced down at the tent that was pitched high in those well-tailored pants. Han Xin seemed to understand what he was thinking. "No, not for that," Han Xin said, his voice breaking the silence. "I mean... us."

"We can talk about it later," Xiang Yu replied, his tone gentle but firm. "Right now, I have a customer waiting." He tried to pull his hand away, but Han Xin tightened his grip, his desperation palpable.

"Can’t you get someone else to do it?" Han Xin’s voice was strained, the thought of Xiang Yu giving a tattoo to a woman who liked him gnawing at his insides. He was so upset that he couldn’t think straight.

Xiang Yu sighed, his expression softening. "Do you want a relationship with me?" he asked, his eyes searching Han Xin’s face.

Han Xin nodded, pulling Xiang Yu closer. "Then you have to trust me, right?" Xiang Yu said, his voice gentle but insistent.

Han Xin bit his lower lip lightly, his eyes filled with a mix of hope and uncertainty. "Hm," he murmured, finally letting go of Xiang Yu’s wrist.

"I will see you later tonight," Xiang Yu promised, planting a fleeting kiss on Han Xin’s cheek before turning to open the door.

Xiang Yu closed the bathroom door with a soft click, the sound echoing faintly in the quiet hallway. He walked with purpose towards the reception area, his footsteps muffled by the plush carpet. The air was thick with the scent of antiseptic and the faint hum of fluorescent lights.

At the main area, Little Bai was prepping to give Han Zhan a tattoo. Xiang Yu’s voice cut through the silence, "Who wants to use the bathroom?"

Han Zhan, lounging in a nearby chair, raised his hand lazily. "Oh, it’s you," Xiang Yu said, a hint of surprise in his voice. "Use the one in my office."

"Okay," Han Zhan replied, getting up and stretching his limbs. He followed Xiang Yu down the corridor, the two moving in a synchronized rhythm. "Where is Ah-Xin?" Han Zhan asked, his curiosity piqued.

Xiang Yu gestured towards the closed bathroom door as he peeled off his gloves, revealing hands that were calloused and strong. "Second room around the corner," he said, his tone matter-of-fact.

Han Zhan nodded, his eyes catching a glimpse of a bruise on Xiang Yu’s lip. His brows knitted together in concern. "What happened to your lip?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry.

Xiang Yu arched an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. "You should see the other guy," he replied cryptically, before turning on his heel and walking away, leaving Han Zhan standing there, stunned.

As Han Zhan made his way towards Xiang Yu’s office, he couldn’t shake the feeling of unease. Did his cousin really fight with Xiang Yu? Han Xin was known for his calm demeanour and strategic mind, rarely resorting to physical confrontation. Even when provoked, he preferred to outmanoeuvre his opponents with cunning rather than brute force.

Scratching the back of his head in confusion, Han Zhan pondered how his cousin could react this strongly. He walked into Xiang Yu’s office lost in thought.

Xiang Yu entered the room he was in before. Sister Meng sat upright on the tattoo bed, her eyes distant and unfocused, as if lost in a labyrinth of her own thoughts. She looked like a woman whose heart had been shattered, her posture rigid yet fragile.

When she saw Xiang Yu return, her eyes widened in surprise. "You are back," she exclaimed, her voice tinged with a mix of relief and confusion.

"Mm," Xiang Yu responded nonchalantly as he moved to the small sink in the corner. The sound of running water filled the room as he washed his hands meticulously. Sister Meng watched him intently, her gaze following every movement as he dried his hands and pulled out a pair of black gloves from a nearby box.

She hesitated, her curiosity battling with her restraint. But when she noticed the fresh bruise on his lip, the question burst forth before she could stop herself. "So he is really your boyfriend?"

Xiang Yu sat down across from her, his expression calm and unreadable. He nodded with a soft "mm," the simple affirmation carrying a weight of unspoken emotions.

Sister Meng blinked in disbelief. She had seen Xiang Yu at the Pink Cherry, dancing with girls, exuding charm and confidence. How could he now have a boyfriend? Her mind raced with questions, each one more bewildering than the last.

Just then, Han Xin emerged from the bathroom, his face still damp from splashing cold water. He froze in his tracks, overhearing Sister Meng’s incredulous question. His heart skipped a beat as he caught Xiang Yu’s quiet hum of confirmation. He should have continued walking, but his feet felt rooted to the spot, unable to move.

Unaware of Han Xin’s presence, Sister Meng pressed on. "But I saw you at Pink Cherry. You never seemed to like men before."

Xiang Yu’s lips curved into a slight smile. "Sister Meng, you misunderstood. I didn’t go to Pink Cherry for anything other than company. I already had someone I liked, but he didn’t like me back."
