Veilbreaker! Oops I Bleed Again
Chapter 63: The Perfect Plan

Chapter 63: The Perfect Plan

Draven leaned back against the wall, absorbing everything Dylan had just explained about the kingdom.

His fingers tapped against his arm as he processed the details.

"So the king, Ezalis, holds the throne. But the real power was split between five major nobles. Henry, Marcus, Paez, Mario, and Walter."

His gaze flickered toward the window, where the five towering establishments loomed in the distance.

Each belongs to one of these powerful figures.

Dylan nodded. "That’s right. Each noble runs their own sector, controlling wealth, resources, and even parts of the military. They’re untouchable."

Draven scoffed.

"And the military structure?"

Dylan straightened.

"At the top, a Supreme Commander is overseeing the entire force. Below him, three commanders hold authority. Well, now two, since Commander Dex was killed."

Dylan said it without emotion, even though it was his Commander.

A smirk tugged at Draven’s lips at that reminder.

"After the commanders come the High Captains. My rank. We lead smaller divisions and enforce orders directly from above. Under us are the Elite Soldiers, specialized in combat and tactical missions. Lastly, the lowest-ranked are the Patrol Soldiers, the ones who handle basic law enforcement."

Draven hummed in acknowledgment.

His eyes flicked to Bella, assessing her health as she continued to use her skill so they could interrogate Dylan.

Bella was listening intently.

Seeing that there was nothing to worry about, Draven continued to question Dylan.

"And the kingdom itself? Is it stable?"

Dylan replied. "Not entirely. The nobles play their political games, each one trying to outmaneuver the others. Tensions always simmer beneath the surface, but no one dares to challenge the king directly. Publicly, they all follow his rule. Privately..."

He trailed off, letting Draven fill in the blanks.

Draven clicked his tongue. "So this kingdom is a powder keg. All it needs is a little spark."

Before Dylan could respond, a sudden drop of blood caught Draven’s eye.

His smirk vanished, and his tone shifted.

"Bella."

Bella blinked as she turned to Draven. Then her brows furrowed when she felt something wet running down her lips.

Lifting a hand, she wiped her nose, only to see blood smeared across her fingertips.

Without hesitation, Draven ripped a strip of cloth from his sleeve and pressed it against her nose, tilting her head back slightly.

"So this is your limit using your skill?"

Bella sighed.

"Yeah... I pushed too hard."

Deka, who had been quiet the whole time, watched with mild concern but said nothing.

Bella groaned. "What should we do with him?"

Her gaze flicked to Dylan.

"Kill him?"

Draven chuckled at the bluntness of her words.

"No. His skill is very useful. We’ll send him back to the experiment facility. He can rejoin his dead commander."

"And you’re sure we won’t have problems with him? He’s Deka’s weakness. He can easily pass through his barrier. And besides, he also saw our faces."

Draven’s grin returned as he now felt confident.

"Don’t worry. I already have a plan for that."

Bella nodded and started giving instructions to Dylan.

He left immediately without waiting for a response.

Bella crossed her arms.

"So, what are we going to do now?"

"Knock, knock!"

Bella and Deka instantly tensed at the sudden knock on the door.

"Who’s there?" Bella asked cautiously.

"Delivery for Mr. Draven."

Both of them turned to Draven, who didn’t even glance at the door.

To their surprise, he was instead rummaging through Dylan’s pouch that he stole.

Bella raised an eyebrow.

"You’re not even curious who the hell is outside the door?"

Draven grinned as he pulled out a few gold coins from the pouch.

"Just open the door."

Bella narrowed her eyes.

"Wait... where did you get that money?"

"Obviously, we need money. Dylan doesn’t need this anyway." Draven shrugged.

Bella sighed, shaking her head before opening the door.

A female staff member stood outside, carrying a wooden beer cask and several glasses.

Draven’s face lit up.

He strode over, handed her a generous tip, and took the cask and glasses.

The staff’s eyes widened. "This is too much!"

Draven grinned. "Don’t worry. Just make sure you keep bringing me these."

The staff nodded and grinned.

Sighing, Bella crossed her arms.

"And what exactly is the meaning of this?"

Draven placed the beer on the table, happily pouring himself a full glass.

"I think better when I drink."

Bella exhaled sharply. "Unbelievable!"

Draven downed the entire glass in one go, then wiped his mouth with his hand.

"Woo! That’s refreshing. I’ve missed this. It’s been months!"

He poured two more glasses and handed them to Bella and Deka.

"Drink. We need to make a plan!"

Deka took a cautious sip.

But Bella simply placed hers back on the table.

She glanced at Deka, who was still sipping, then shook her head.

"No thanks. You drink if you want, but we need to focus."

Draven sighed dramatically. "Fine, fine."

He took out six golden coins from Dylan’s pouch and arranged five of them in a circle on the table.

The last coin, he stacked on top of the others.

"These five represent the nobles," he explained, tapping each coin. "One by one, we’re going to take over their sectors and corrupt them from their roots."

Bella leaned in, eyes sharp.

"And how exactly do you plan on doing that?"

Her arms crossed while Draven spun a coin between his fingers.

"The real fun begins when we gather more information about this kingdom’s inner workings," Draven said. His smirk never faded.

"But what about Duke Marcus? He’s the richest noble, controlling the economy and all trade routes." Deka asked. "He has seen our faces too."

Draven chuckled. "That’s exactly why he’s first on our list to take down."

He let the coin drop onto the table with a sharp clink.

He continued, "In a matter of time, our funds too are going to run out soon."

Draven glanced at Dylan, then back at Bella.

"According to our dear Dylan informant here, one of the best ways to make money is by becoming adventurers."

Bella’s brow furrowed.

"Adventurers??"

Draven grinned and took another sip of his drink before continuing.

"Selling Lumirites fetches a high price, and dungeon-hunting quests pay well. We need income to stay here and do our plans."

He tilted his glass, finishing his drink in one gulp.

"Blurpp... So, we get rich, gain influence, and crush them from the inside."

Draven reached for another glass of beer, smirking.

"Sounds like a perfect plan, doesn’t it?"
