Veilbreaker! Oops I Bleed Again
Chapter 58: Fallen

Chapter 58: Fallen

The battlefield where Draven and Dex were shrank to less than a quarter of its original size.

Everywhere else?

There’s only lava.

The ground where Dex’s Lava Surge erupted was now a burning ocean of molten fire.

The lava around Bryan’s brick wall flooded and surged like a relentless tide, crashing against the fortress-like structure.

The Verdants trembled and quickly huddled together, dreading that the land where they were would melt anytime.

Their eyes widened as they gazed at the ground, seeing cracks spread beneath them.

"We’re going to die!"One of the Verdants screamed.

Dex let out a booming laugh.

"Hahaha! My lava has already seeped into the walls! You won’t have anyone left alive when this is over."

"Bryan! Do something about it!" Bella shouted.

"I’m trying!" Bryan responded.

Seeing what was happening, Draven became more determined.

He didn’t stop.

He kept pushing forward.

His attacks were relentless.

Blinking, striking, and slashing with his Morphos, one after another.

Dex kept blocking, dodging, and evading.

But then a small crack formed on his molten arm, and his eyes twitched.

"Huh?"

It had been nearly thirty minutes since Bryan built the brick wall. And all that time, Draven had not stopped attacking him.

Dex’s mind raced.

’Why does this guy never stop?! What kind of stamina does he have?!’

Dex, on the other hand, was losing his.

At first, he had fought to kill.

Now, he was just stalling since he can’t beat Draven.

He could no longer afford to use [Erupting Circle] since it would drain his energy even faster.

His breathing grew heavy. His arms felt heavier. His movements were slower.

And worst of all, Draven’s attacks were getting stronger.

Faster.

Heavier.

Dex clenched his jaw.

’What the hell is happening?!’

He hadn’t realized it yet. But he was weakening.

That’s why Draven’s blows felt stronger and faster.

Dex’s gaze flicked toward the brick wall.

Cracks were spreading.

He smirked, thinking it would finally collapse.

But then he noticed something, making his eyes widen in surprise.

Each crack that formed was being sealed again!

’What?!’

He scanned the battlefield, looking for Bryan.

And there he was, continuously filling every crack with cement.

The lava wasn’t getting through because he wasn’t letting it.

Dex’s stomach twisted.

’This guy!’

Then suddenly, someone spoke near him.

"Where are you looking, Commander?"

"WHAM!"

Draven’s Morphos smashed into his face.

Dex’s world spun as his body hurtled backward, skidding violently across the battlefield.

"CRASH!"

He slammed into the stone wall, his body half-buried in the cracked structure.

"What’s wrong? You look weaker now."

Draven’s voice was casual, mocking.

Dex gritted his teeth as he struggled to stand up.

"Stop worrying about me," he snapped, gesturing toward the brick wall.

"Soon, my lava will completely flood that wall, and they’ll all burn."

Draven shook his head.

"Don’t worry about them. I trust them. That wall won’t fall."

Dex smirked in feigned confidence.

But in the back of his mind, a nagging thought crept in.

’Where the hell is that guy?’

He was thinking about the one who could teleport.

Dex had ordered him to stay nearby, ready for a quick escape.

Their original plan was simple.

Kidnap Deka and leave immediately.

Then, go back to this place again.

Bella’s presence made things too dangerous.

They couldn’t afford to fight her directly.

But now Dex was waiting.

And no one was coming.

A worse thought struck him.

’Did the Duke abandon me?!’

’Maybe he already got what he wanted. The one who wields the barrier.’

They probably have left him to die.

His fist slammed into the ground.

"Fucking Duke!" he growled.

"Hey, don’t hurt yourself," Draven teased.

Dex snapped his head up, eyes burning with fury.

Draven was walking toward him.

Calm.

Confident.

Like he’d already won.

Dex’s rage boiled because he couldn’t do more.

’What is wrong?!’

’Why am I losing to this guy?!’

He had trained every single day to reach his position.

He was the only Crimson I.D. user to ever become a Commander.

He had pushed his body to the limit, reaching the highest skill ranks:

[Erupting Circle] – Rank A

[Molten Armor] – Rank A

[Lava Surge] – Rank S

His training had no breaks.

Physical conditioning.

Ability mastery.

Every single day.

And yet, here he was.

Losing.

’Why am I the only one running out of stamina?’

’Why was someone I didn’t even know overpowering me?’

"Surrendering already?" Draven’s voice cut through his thoughts.

Dex clenched his jaw. A bitter chuckle escaped his lips.

"Surrender? Hah. I’m not done. You and everyone else here will burn in my lava."

Draven shook his head, his expression shifting to something serious.

"Quick question, tell me." His eyes darkened. "What are you experimenting on?"

Dex smirked and didn’t answer.

"Why are the corpses without brains and hearts? Draven’s voice was sharp. "What are you planning to create?"

Dex let out a low, amused laugh.

"Oh, that? You’ll find out soon enough." His smirk widened. "That thing is beyond humanity."

Before Draven could respond...

[Erupting Circle!]

A sudden explosion of flaming rings tore through Draven.

Draven dashed backward, narrowly evading.

Dex grinned and stood up.

His body was shaking but still moving.

’I’ll burn through everything if I have to.’

’I’ll use up every last drop of my stamina just to buy time!’

His eyes flicked to Bryan.

The cement boy.

The only thing keeping the Verdants safe.

Dex smirked.

’I just need to hold out until he collapses... until he can’t block the gaps anymore.’

His grin widened.

The battle wasn’t over yet.

Dex unleashed another barrage of [Erupting Circle!]

Flaming rings exploded outward, forcing Draven to stay on the defensive.

But Draven’s expression was calm.

His movements were effortless.

"You are slowing down, Commander."

He dodged each attack with precision.

His body weaved through the onslaught like it was second nature.

Dex lunged.

Now, he was fully on the offensive.

His molten fist came crashing down.

But Draven met it head-on.

He blocked.

Parried.

Deflected.

Then he gave a solid strike to Dex’s ribs.

Dex stumbled back, coughing.

But his face was grinning.

His gaze was locked onto Bryan’s brick wall.

The cracks were widening, splitting apart, and spreading uncontrollably.

"I won!" Dex roared triumphantly.

With a smile on his face, he watched as the brick wall shattered.

Dust and debris exploded outward as the massive structure collapsed.

Dex’s eyes widened in victory.

However, his accomplishment got stuck in his throat.

Inside the broken brick wall, a blue barrier stood tall.

Dex’s breath hitched.

"W-What...?"

His mind struggled to process it.

"How... is this possible?!"

Then his eyes landed on Deka.

He was inside the barrier!

And worse, his minion, the teleportation user, was standing beside Bella!

Dex’s stomach sank and his shoulders dropped.

The teleporter’s face looked like a dog in front of Bella.

Bella was looking at Dex with her arms crossed in front of her and with a mocking smile.

Dex’s eye twitched.

"That damn girl again!"

Dex clenched his fist.

He wanted to blast her apart with [Erupting Circle].

But she was too far.

She was out of range.

’This can’t be happening.’

Even his men were in her hands!

Dex’s grin was gone.

The fight had just turned against him.
