Vampire: World of Blood -
Chapter 194 194: If This Was A Story, He Would Be MC Material
"Once more, I find myself adrift in this bizarre realm... A dream that has lingered at the edge of my consciousness for years, ever elusive yet familiar. As before, I am suspended in an expanse of endless hues; colors blending and twisting together, a canvas without definition or boundary. This place distorts reality itself; nothing abides by the laws I know. Perception is rendered futile here, or perhaps it is I who lack the qualifications to perceive what lies beyond, what encompasses this very world."
"And yet, each time I return to this dream, a strange wisdom seeps into my very being... It is as though this place nourishes me, and feeds me knowledge I cannot grasp in waking life. Every time I awaken, I sense a subtle change, a strength that wasn't there before, an insight that brings unexpected benefit to my being."
"In this place, there is only me and these colors, yet, today something was different... even before I became a vampire, I came to trust this dream, this dream is the very thing that I trust the most."
"I became an orphan at 8 when my mother died at the hands of two warlocks from the Blood Mountain Sect... and the only reason why I even made it this far was because of my sister. And even now, I can her last words both haunt me and allow me to move forward despite my suffering."
The boy said to himself, as he could recall his sister's last request.
"Dyeus... whatever you do, don't lose this ring...
His sister said, her voice was filled with urgency and fear, a rare crack in her usual composure that he had grown accustomed to.
Nevertheless, her message to him was clear and concise.
"It will be your guiding light... as such take it to Hellmora... remember, whoever wears this ring bears the blessing of the founder of the Xiol family."
Following his sister's final words, Dyeus fled south, determined to reach Hellmora where he stayed on the down low as a petty thief on the street for years. But despite his best efforts, his enemies eventually caught up to him. In all honesty, he had thought he would die that day when they found him.
Their goal was the ring, the very thing his family had been protecting for many generations.
But fate clearly had other plans for him.
On the brink of death, he was saved by a woman, a vampire from the Michellian clan, and his soon-to-be sire.
It's only been a few months since that fateful encounter, but in that short time, Dyeus had gained a level of power he never imagined possible.
Of course, such power came at a cost.
To save his life, the woman demanded he sign a contract.
She sought a vessel for her newly created Philosopher's Stone, one she boasted would be better than any other philosopher's stone. The terms were simple: become the host for her stone, or die.
Looking back, Dyeus was grateful for her intervention.
She wasn't what he expected.
Despite her cold nature, she was generally kind, offering him her protection and keeping the Blood Mountain Sect at bay.
Under her guidance, Dyeus learned more than he ever thought possible, about the darker truths of their world, the hidden arts of alchemy, and how to hone his old and new abilities in a better way.
Her family background also granted him access to advanced training grounds, opening doors to opportunities that would not be normally possible to begin with.
He suspected her kindness wasn't entirely selfless. She was clearly cultivating him for her own purposes. But Dyeus didn't mind. In fact, he preferred it this way, a relationship built on mutual benefit. She could use him, and he could use her. That kind of clarity suited him just fine.
With Lia Hoflas's protection, Dyeus was able to keep his family's most precious treasure, the Ring of Time, safe. The ring, as far as he understood, carried the power of his family's founder, Lady Xiol. By modern standards, she would be called an Elder Witch.
But according to his father, a direct descendant of hers, Lady Xiol was far more than that, she was a Stellar Dragon, a species long extinct in their world.
From what Dyeus had learned, the Stellar Dragons were wiped out by a single person. What shocked him most, however, was discovering the identity of their destroyer: none other than Michelle Okelix Vinter Cain Elderblood, the progenitor of his new clan and one of the most powerful beings in this universe.
Dyeus doesn't know why Michelle has annihilated the Stellar Dragons, but he is stunned by the irony of his circumstances. Of all places, he now found himself in the domain of the very clan that had wiped out his ancestors. Though his Stellar Dragon blood was thin and diluted, it still carried power. As a descendant of a species that controlled cosmic radiation, he found himself growing stronger under sunlight.
Just by this alone, he was already an anomaly by vampiric standards of course.
Lately, Dyeus has noticed significant changes in his body.
His blood carried unique properties that could counter vampiric abilities. Stellar Dragons, he learned, were one of only two dragon species capable of threatening vampires.
The first, Chi Dragons, had the ability to strip vampires of their immortality, creating a literal new form, or recreating their prior souls and effectively turning them into, or right back into their original mortal forms.
The second, Stellar Dragons, were so powerful that even the weakest among them wielded the energy of countless stars. They could easily annihilate armies of level 4 and 5 vampires, while the oldest of their kind could destroy even the strongest vampires without effort.
Dyeus, being a Ryker, a human with diluted dragon blood, possessed some of that ancient power. His abilities included partial transformation, manipulation of cosmic energy, thermal vision, enhanced speed, strength, endurance, and durability. But his most unique trait was the toxicity of his blood, which was incredibly dangerous to his enemies, and vampires especially.
As the last member of the Xiol family, his dragon blood gave him a unique birthright, the ability to wield the Ring of Time; legend says that any capable of unlocking its full power can manipulate space-time according to their will, along with all aspects of time itself. If he were to die, the ring would be unusable, as only a direct descendant of Lady Xiol could control it.
Perhaps it was this deep connection that led Dyeus to dream the same dream every night.
What made his situation even stranger, though, was his unique nature as a Ryker. The sun, typically the greatest weakness of vampires, had no such effect on him. As a Stellar Ryker, Dyeus retained full power under the sun.
In fact, the celestial bodies, the sun and moon, seemed to enhance him endlessly making him grow slowly, just as they did for the Stellar Dragons of old.
In fact, it was due to Lia studying his physiology that he discovered that the longer he spent beneath their light, the more his diluted draconic bloodline began to thicken.
As such Dyeus realized that prolonged exposure to the sun and moon might allow him to evolve into a True Stellar Dragon one day if he keeps up his cosmic bathing as he call it. However, such a transformation wasn't simple.
His body would need to be cultivated and strengthened enough to endure the immense strain of draconic evolution. Fortunately, his unique condition offered a solution.
Despite his acquired taste for the blood of star-gazers, Dyeus discovered that even without feeding, he could grow stronger simply by basking under the moon. Unlike ordinary vampires, who required blood to develop their strength to new heights, he could accelerate the evolution of his ichor just by staying under the moonlight.
Lately, he could feel the change approaching.
His level 2 evolution was within reach, three more nights at best under the moonlight, at most, and he would ascend from level 1 to level 2. The thought filled him with anticipation. Among supernatural beings, the vampire race was considered exceptionally potent and versatile, making them one of the most powerful races in the universe.
The prospect of strengthening his ichor even further was exhilarating, as it would bring him closer to unlocking the full potential of his hybrid nature.
Dyeus's dreams had always been strange, but this time, they went beyond anything he'd ever experienced.
Normally, he found himself adrift in an incomprehensible space, absorbing fragments of knowledge and power. Yet this time, the visions were overwhelming, vivid, and disjointed.
He saw many things, the visions coming in like a great sea, and all at once, yet the cup that was his mind could not hold everything.
But he saw things like dragons soaring through the sky, their roars tearing the heavens, and shaking the earth. he saw a beautiful woman with a white draconic tail kneeling before a towering figure with two pairs of glowing neon-blue eyes, the beings tail in question lightly lifting her chin.
He was many more images with endless battles that raged across unknown worlds, he saw these worlds' skies being consumed by eternal blackness.
He glimpsed at devils, vampires, gods, and creatures so alien that no words could describe them. Among them were figures reminiscent of cultivators from mythical tales, meditating and wielding energies he couldn't fully grasp.
As knowledge flooded into him, he began to understand this space even more.
He understood that this space was a place beyond the constraints of time in his universe as he understood it; this place was a place in the lower realm known as the Zone of Fate. A place where the past, present, and future mix into a singular pool of many colors, with infinite streams, that expand infinitely into many ways, every reaction stems from a singular action, just as every action can give birth to infinite other reactions.
Yet, he was painfully aware of his own weakness as a mortal being.
The knowledge flooding into him showed him a profound truth.
The truth is that time and fate were interconnected yet subordinate to a higher principle—The End.
Time recorded the infinite branching possibilities of existence in their universe, while fate ensured every event moved inexorably toward its destined conclusion. Above them all loomed The End, the inevitable finality that governed all creation, guiding every life, every story, to its ultimate conclusion.
Even in this universe, it was only but one of the infinite other universes it governs and rules over.
From what Dyeus had pieced together, Time functioned as a program, meticulously designed to record every event that unfolded following the predation of totality, the beginning of all things.
Yet, while Time was foundational, it was not supreme.
Fate emerged after Time, but it stood above it in the hierarchy, acting as the very system governing the interplay of events. Time merely documented; Fate decided. And beyond both lay The End, the ultimate conclusion to all existence, one of the twelve primordial pillars that upheld the structure of creation itself.
The End was absolute.
Unlike Time, which recorded, or Fate, which guided, The End was indifferent, treating all entities, save for the other eleven True Original Aspects of creation, as mere characters within a vast story.
No matter how powerful, no matter how clever, none could truly escape The End, well at least not typically. But generally speaking, even those who mastered Fate and reshaped their destiny could only delay the inevitable. To The End itself, their stories were finite, their chapters destined to conclude.
Dyeus came to understand Time as a repository, a neutral observer recording all that was, is, and could be. Yet, Fate stood above Time, intertwined with it but transcendent, existing simultaneously in the past, present, and future.
Fate ensured that all possibilities remained fluid and interconnected. The past could send ripples forward to shape the future, just as the future could send echoes backward to alter the past. The present served as a nexus, where choices and actions either forged new paths or reinforced existing ones.
This dynamic interplay meant that every decision and every action in every moment, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, could birth a new reality, a different Faze where events unfolded differently. It was through this system that alternate and non-alternate realities came into existence where they flow linear and non-linear at the same time, each a reflection of diverging possibilities.
Everything originates from the Mother Universe, which holds a unique and superior status among all universes. These other universes, called Fazes, emerge from the infinite choices and possibilities of the Mother Universe, granting it a special significance.
While all universes born from the Mother Universe possess higher dimensions and planes of existence, the Mother Universe stands apart because it alone can access the Divider Realm. This realm is a critical threshold required to cross into the Sea of Ideology, where true singularity and ultimate transcendence can be achieved.
This distinction inherently makes all other universes inferior to the Mother Universe in terms of the path to transcendence. Among the cosmic strings that form the composite structure of existence, only beings from the Mother Universes have the potential to reach the state of true singularity.
In Dyeus's cosmic string, his universe is the Mother Universe, meaning it holds a unique role as the source of all other universes in this string. This also means his universe contains both linear and non-linear timelines, existing simultaneously and influencing both alternate and non-alternate realities across the string.
This fluidity meant that within Fate's system, everything was possible: what was happening, what could happen, and even what shouldn't or couldn't happen might still come to pass. It wasn't randomness but an intricate design, where every potential was accounted for, branching infinitely.
In this structure, Fate acted as the guiding hand of Time, weaving threads of causality, consequence, and choice. But Fate itself served a greater purpose: leading all things toward The End.
The End, however, was not merely the cessation of existence.
It was the final chapter, the ultimate resolution of every narrative, every story, every being, thing, or object. While Time recorded and Fate orchestrated, The End waited patiently, its role as the inescapable destination of all things ensuring that no story remained unfinished.
In this grand framework, or rather in this dream that makes him float in the Zone of Fate, Dyeus saw an undeniable truth: existence itself was a story. Every life, every world, every moment was a character in an unfathomably vast narrative.
And though these characters could alter their arcs, rebel against their fates, or rewrite their roles, they could not escape the fundamental law of creation.
All things must eventually end.
As the knowledge seeped into him, Dyeus began to learn more about The End and its significance. Yet, questions plagued his mind. Why was this dream revealing such profound truths to him?
Why was it offering him this knowledge? Was it by design, or merely an accident? He couldn't help but wonder. The Ring of Time had never behaved this way before, leaving him uncertain about the purpose behind these revelations.
And so too he came to know more and more about this entity known as The End.
From what he understood from the onslaught of information.
The End could signify many things, encompassing every aspect of existence below it. To bring something to an end was to establish that it had reached its zenith, its ultimate conclusion or finality.
It could mean.
The end of a life.
The end of love.
The end of strife or suffering.
The end of laziness or stagnation.
The end of happiness.
The end of a concept or idea.
The end of progress or growth.
The end of a world, a universe, or even reality itself.
Whether it was a person, a place, a thing, an idea, or a moment, The End brought closure. It drew the curtain, sealed the chapter, and marked the final note of existence. It wasn't inherently good or evil, it simply was. With every ending came a resolution, a conclusion that brought all things, no matter how great or small, to their final state.
More and more information poured into him, fragments of the past, glimpses of the present, and visions of the future.
The flood of images and knowledge overwhelmed him, showing him more than his mind could comprehend. He tried to retain what he could, but his understanding was shallow and fragmented.
Even as a vampire, blessed with a near-perfect memory, he struggled. Vampires could store their memories and experiences within the spectrum of vampirism, offloading them from their physical brains to make room for more. Yet even this incredible ability had its limits.
The brain itself, a finite vessel, was nearing its breaking point.
His mind was overloaded, throbbing with pain, unable to process the torrent of revelations.
He grasped only the most critical elements, that being the information of Time, and Fate, along with info on The End as well.
But their full meaning eluded him.
They were like faint outlines of a map whose details were lost to him. It was maddening, but he could do nothing to stem the flow. He barely understood what was happening, let alone why.
This state of torment continued until, finally, the influx ceased.
Yet, before he could even catch his breath, something else began to unfold.
In this space of visions, something, or someone grabbed him.
He had no mouth to speak, no eyes to see, and his form reduced to nothing more than an astral projection of his essence. Yet, even without his physical senses, he felt it.
Its presence was undeniable, oppressive in its immensity. What little he could perceive came through a strange sixth sense he inherited when he first entered this place many years back, a faculty that seemed to encompass all his other senses and translate them into something entirely alien.
Even if he had eyes, they would have been useless. What he faced was incomprehensible: an overwhelming, ancient force that defied mortal understanding.
From there a voice roared to life in the space, It was a woman's voice, resonating with power.
And soon the woman spoke.
"Finally, the link has been established. That can only mean one thing... Lord Genesis is close. But... why is it so weak? It should be stronger. No, perhaps he is hiding his presence…"
Dyeus wanted desperately to respond, to ask what was happening, but he had no way to communicate.
All he could do was listen.
Finally, he felt the woman's attention shift from wherever it was looking to him, as it said clearly talking to him.
"I presume you are my successor."
The voice continued, her tone strict but calm.
"A little dull, I must admit, but with the right guidance, you'll do...
The woman said, before nodding to herself before continuing once more.
"Mhmh... I can mold you into something worthy. The Genesis at the Edge of Life once told me to complete my cultivation of the Rebirth Concept, I'd need to exist in both the past and the future simultaneously, alive and dead at once. But mastering reincarnation is far too troublesome. Instead, I'll use you as my new eyes... you my vessel."
The voice announces.
"A pity you're so weak. If you die, it'll complicate my ascension. I can't allow that to happen after all the sacrifices I've made to finally reach this point."
The presence seemed to study him before speaking again.
"Let's begin by infusing you with my essence, true draconic energy, for a Stellar dragon-like myself that means cosmic energy from the Age of Darkness. Either way, I can't give you too much either, I don't want you to die after all, so for the next ten years I will keep injecting small portions of my own essence into yours, and your body will eventually evolve into that of a full-blooded Stellar Dragon. And In a hundred years, you'll reach the level of a Dragon Lord, and in a thousand more, if you cultivate properly, you might even attain the rank of a True Dragon like me."
The voice said casually, as she began to do what she wanted to do.
Suddenly, an overwhelming power surged into Dyeus, accompanied by excruciating pain. He felt his very being strained under the weight of it.
But as the pain grew more and more, the woman spoke once more.
"So, you're a vampire as well egh, and a Michellian nonetheless, so an empty vessel, and one that can take damage to an insane degree?"
The voice mused.
"Ah, Lord Genesis's foresight knows no bounds. This simplifies things. However, your body is too fragile. Even a fragment of my soul would destroy it outright... so I can't place my soul fragment into you just yet."
The voice paused, then chuckled.
"Hehe!! No matter!! You'll benefit from this as well. By the time I'm done with you, you'll be far more than you are now. You'll inherit my strength, and guess due to the link forming you inherit some of my knowledge and memories. Either way; rejoice, inheritor, when this process is complete, you'll walk the path of time, and perhaps, if fate permits, even that of a god of fate given you can even ascend... I really hope you can my own cultivation depends on it."
Dyeus couldn't fully comprehend her words, but the power coursing through him was undeniable.
As the pain subsided, the voice spoke again, softer now.
"That will do for now. You're about to wake up, but next time you return here, you'll notice the difference. My essence will stabilize within you with time, and you'll grow stronger than ever before. Consider yourself lucky brat, I've made you the protagonist of your own story as lord Gensis would say... fufufu… Now, don't get yourself killed, brat. I have high hopes for you... agh sigh, like literally; you have no idea how much trouble it took me to get everything ready in prep for this one moment, my attempts to understand the law of <<Rebirth >> and fully master it depend on how good of a teacher I am to you."
"If I don't complete this, I'll never be able to stand at the edge alongside him… That insufferable woman already mastered the law of <<Inevitable Death>> and ascended to become an Arbiter. And to make matters worse, that bastard of all people mastered <<Evolutionary Progression>> and reached the edge as well. I have to hurry, I need to hurry... I refuse to be bested like this."
The voice proudly announced.
But as it continued to ramble on, Dyeus himself could not keep up with this pain, and soon too, he slowly began to fade, the feeling of waking up was nearing.
And so said, so done, moment after the voice faded, and the overwhelming sensation of waking up overtook him.

DYEUSSSS GETTTTT THE FUCKKKK UPPP!!!
*SMACKKK!!...
The sharp crack of a slap, loud and metallic, jolted Dyeus awake. His senses came rushing back as a deep rumble shook the world around him. Somewhere nearby, an explosion echoed, leaving the air heavy with tension.
Blinking, Dyeus opened his damaged eyes to darkness, but soon they healed, and thankfully, his vampiric night vision quickly adjusted, revealing a figure standing in front of him. Her glowing blue eyes, eerily similar to his own, pierced through the gloom.
She looked older than him, maybe in her early twenties to his sixteen years of life.
Her alabaster skin seemed to glow faintly in the dim light, and though she wasn't an exact copy of his sire, the resemblance was uncanny. Her blue lipstick gave her an almost regal air, contrasting sharply with her flowing black hair that fell straight down her back.
She wore a fitted blue undershirt tucked into skin-tight jeans, standing at just under five feet tall, or 4"11, but exuding an aura that made her presence feel enormous. A faint blue glow surrounded her, its energy seeping into Dyeus, though he was far from comforted by it.
The dim light reflected off the metallic ceiling above him. It took a moment for Dyeus to process that they were in an iron bunker. His gaze flicked back to the woman, and his groggy voice broke the silence.
"Lady Mi... AGHaaa...what the hell?!...
He groaned as pain flared through his entire body.
He tried to move but immediately regretted it.
The sight of his own body was horrifying.
His torso had been blown apart, his arms reduced to scorched stumps. One leg was entirely gone, and his face felt raw, his flesh barely clinging to the bone. On top of everything, he was naked; his clothes had been completely incinerated. Yet, despite the extensive damage, his body was slowly healing, the natural resilience and healing of his kind at work.
"The explosion...
He muttered, flashes of memory starting to return.
He remembered running with his group, pursued by a powerful pack of Naga vampires. In the chaos, he had pushed Lia out of the way of an attack from that pink-haired monster.
One of her bombs had hit him directly.
Mia crossed her arms, her irritation clear as she looked him over.
"Don't try to move."
She ordered sharply.
"You're damn lucky your ichor makes you resistant to fire-based attacks. Even luckier that you're a Michellian vampire. If it weren't for those two things, you'd be ashes right now. Taking a hit like that from a Level 4 vampire at your level? You shouldn't even be breathing."
Dyeus groaned as the searing pain persisted.
"I'm healing... slowly at least."
He jokingly said.
Mia crouched slightly, the blue aura around her flaring.
"Slowly my ass you're a mess. Sigh that aside how many souls do you have left?"
"About... 53,958...
He managed to say through gritted teeth.
"From all the kills during training in other worlds back in Helheim... egh w-why?!"
Dyeus asked.
And Mia gave a satisfied nod, her expression softening, though just barely.
"Good. Sacrifice them. All of them. Use the soul exchange to speed up your regeneration, or you'll be dead before you can move. Trish is out there holding off the enemy, but they're tearing through her clones. She won't last much longer."
Dyeus's stomach dropped at the thought of Trish being overwhelmed. His gaze flicked toward the bunker's entrance, the muffled sounds of battle echoing faintly from outside.
Mia stood up, her glowing eyes narrowing as her tone grew more serious.
"I have a plan to take those bastards down, but I need you to get back in the fight. If we don't stop them soon, none of us are walking out of here alive."
