Vampire: World of Blood
Chapter 189 189: Universal Regions

Merciless flew through the portal with a speed that defied reason, the universe around him shifting from a realm of darkness, and multiple terrains, to a monstrous landscape.

An enormous, ominous structure loomed before him, packed with more creatures than he could count, an endless swarm stretching beyond the limits of sight.

He couldn't gauge their full numbers from this distance, but he knew one thing: there were many dangerous creatures within that strange box prison, creatures which he'd inevitably have to face, given he was heading in that direction.

Then he spotted something unusual: a group of fifteen people, each one powerful in his own right. A few held their ground at level 4, but most were at level 5.

Scattered around were others too weak to even be worthy of being registered in Merciless's mind, peak level 3 or at that power range, they didn't seem vampiric given he could sense souls that still is stationed within, meaning they were living beings, albeit hardly holding on to life, or on the verge of death, as such they were dismissed without a second thought.

However seeing so many weak things before him, made his stomach turn as he said to himself.

He didn't know why, but for reason, seeing weakness disgusted him, so much it was unbearing. It was not even being weak that disgusted him, he could tolerate a weak being, but a fragile mind satisfied with that, was just pure utter disgust.

With his eyes he could see and sense them, also hear them, they were not too far from where he was.

But his opinion on their existence made him cringe.

"Disgusting… utterly, painfully revolting! Their forms are wretched and graceless! No beauty, no ambition, no brilliance in the slightest! Why is this world so plagued with such unforgivable imperfection?...

Merciless said to himself; as he flew down.

After all, a familiar figure, one he already knew of was in trouble, this one, she was weak... but her inner form, her mentality was beautiful... he could tolerate it enough to care for it... similar to those prideful Michellians earlier.

"Mhm... that's how a Michellian should be, never give up... be greedy, be selfish... reach for your goals at all cost, and once complete move on to a greater one... never settle for less, go on in life knowing there is always more to strive for... if you say you will do something, then you do it; even if it sounds impossible, never let anyone tell you what your limit is... that is the abstract beauty of uniqueness... that is art... that is Pride in oneself, that is Vanity... that is truth. The greatest form of love... which is love in oneself.... before everything else, yourself should always come first."

Merciless could feel it. That creeping, insidious whisper at the edge of his mind, tainting every thought, darkening every instinct. His compatibility with the sins was… unnatural. An intense, visceral alignment, as if he embodied the strongest, deepest desires that had ever been passed down through those stages across countless lives before his own.

The Vestige of Vanity.

The Vestige of Pride.

They were here.

They were alive in him, and with each second, he felt the transformation building within.

His sin was close to manifesting.

Just a couple more seconds... he could feel the vestiges responding to his disdain; quickly manifesting themselves according to his mentality.

As they took hold, they didn't reshape Merciless's mind to suit their needs; no, they were surfacing his own deepest, most depraved urges our his prime sin. They were peeling back the moral restraints every person usually holds, like delicate veils, and bringing his hidden desires to the forefront.

Other people might bury their darker impulses, smothering them under society's rules, but sin users—true sin users—were different.

They didn't repress their desires.

They lived them.

They radiated them.

They became them.

For superhumans, Eden's powers were unlike any other. Most followed a path, a hierarchy of strength, gradually ascending, cultivating their abilities with structure and order.

But with the powers of sin, there was no such order or hierarchy.

Sin users wielded that defied the natural order of the universe. They possess powers that are so unorthodox that it was almost impossible to deal with if one did not know the set conditions to counter them beforehand.

This was why sin users were the most dangerous among superhumans, something that couldn't be predicted, trained against, or prepared for.

It's a force that would take armies to resist, an entire legion of S-ranked fighters, and perhaps one or two SSS-level superhumans could hope to stand a chance. Even then, that might not be enough.

Sin users like Merciless were born with abilities tied directly to their innermost desires, their mentality shaping their power's foundation so perfectly that, from the start, they needed no training, no refining.

Their sin was pure, fully realized from birth, with only room to grow as their mentality twisted further.

The only superhumans who stand a real chance are those who, like sin users, naturally operate in the realm of the illogical and unorthodox. These individuals are the rare equals of EX-rank superhumans, wielding the untamed, unpredictable powers of Eden.

Henceforth, to properly gauge a sin user, do not gauge them by their range, rather you gauge them under the illogical way their Eden works.

Their power disregards all hierarchies entirely under the same plane of existence, once caught by it, you're doomed.

However in lower planes like these, nothing is truly unstoppable, there is always a

While sin users are seen as near-unstoppable specialized powerhouses, a rare defense lies in opposing them with forces just as unbound by logic.

One chaotic essence can sometimes cancel out another.

Yet, despite this potential weakness, sin users are still immensely powerful, unpredictable subjective weapons of creation born from the rawest manifestation of desires that stem from the concept of sin.

Across the multiverse that knows of them, they are often viewed as a blight, feared as twisted manifestations of ultimate possibility born from the subjective desire of sin.

No sin is the same, but if there's one thing all sin users have in common... they have unique views of certain sins.

But they are never positive...

They can't be positive...

Even the most positive holders of sin vestige in some shape or form possess perverse beliefs in some way that have a negative effect on the universe.

Merciless's eyes widened as fragments of memory, inherited from Faust, surfaced in his mind. It was a final gift; a parting gesture of gratitude that left Merciless with insights and knowledge about a few key things.

Only if he knew, Merciless true intentions.

But Merciless was starting to understand.

"Sin users... hehehe... all of them change this world in some way...

Merciless said as he was beginning to understand.

Faust's voice played in his head.

Grace, a former Bearer of Pride.

"In her foolish pride and selfish belief, she thought humanity deserved more. By twisting the ideals of creation in their favor, she set humankind on a path that defied their fate, loosening the chains that bound them to a predestined end. While humanity remains entangled in fate's threads, fragments of their existence escape its grasp. Grace granted them freedom, but only in pieces, mere shards that destiny still seeks to reclaim... yet could not."

Olthar, the 7th Holder of Vanity.

"Steeped in cunning vanity, he deceived one the first supreme gods that was once a part of this lower realm in the primordial era, by doing so he fooled him into sparing the humans of the lesser world from future danger turning the humans of this lesser plane into a mere pawns on the gameboard for gods beyond time and space in the higher plane, using them as a way to end dispute among themselves. The universe, our universe he 'saved' became a puppet show, where the lesser plane danced at the whims of higher beings. For this, they call him the Father of Mercy, who gave humanity a shield against higher powers. But his choice twisted this universe into one of the most warped, and dangerous, realities to exist, as a result of humanity's existence.

Angra Mainyu, the 9th holder of Wrath

"Driven by an overwhelming hatred, he committed an act of wrath so vile that it reshaped this entire composite universe. He invaded the Collective Unconscious, seducing Lady Aeon herself in a desperate bid to destroy the gods and people who had condemned him. His plan was to poison the gods' memories with an even greater evil, hoping to erase them, and he managed to corrupt a fragment of the Collective, twisting its very essence. But, blinded by his rage, he was deceived and ultimately met his end at Aeon's hands for violating a sacred taboo. Even in death, he left a lasting scar on this universe's Collective, warping all beliefs associated with it into something darkly perverse."

"This universe was once home to gods of balance and order, beings formed naturally from the Collective Unconscious. These gods upheld the original laws of creation, embodying ideals meant to protect and guide their world. However, when Angra committed his unimaginable act of wrath and corruption, he left a dark stain on the Collective itself. This singular act poisoned the very foundation of the universe, twisting the energies that gave rise to gods and supernatural beings."

"For the next 20 million years, this corruption held fast, transforming what should have been benevolent or neutral gods, and sometimes evil gods and entities into more twisted, perverse reflections of their true intended forms. Instead of maintaining order, the deities of that age became engines of chaos and malevolence, perverting the natural flow of creation and warping every new spirit or deity born from the Collective."

"That era was an era when all that was malevolent and associated with darkness and corruption reached their peak, so much so, that it left a mark on the supernatural world that would shape its future forever. Known as the Age of Darkness, the second age after the Primordial Age, it was a time when the Collective segment governing this universe became fully corrupted for millions of years. This corruption twisted not only the gods but anything shaped by belief, spawning countless horrors throughout existence.

"Every spirit, god, and supernatural entity emerged tainted, born with cruelty that far exceeded even the darkest denizens of hell. For eons, these twisted beings reigned, spreading suffering across creation and countless multiverse. As a result, this universe became known as the Malignant Universe, a place of such intense danger and corruption that it was both feared and avoided by any who knew of it; for a while; others from different universes who could traverse the fazes, avoided this universe, and to this day they still do."

These were the kinds of memories Merciless was witnessing, fragments of knowledge he now possessed. Memories were his specialty, even coded ones stood no chances before his affinity and his eyes, so he understood them clearly. Even though Faust had encrypted them, likely to keep others from accessing this pass-on knowledge, Merciless could see how careful the man had been, right to the very end.

"This man has maxed out anxiety... and serious trust issues."

Said Merciless to himself.

From Faust's memories, Merciless learned that every sin user in this universe had, at one point or another, altered the course of the world—for better or worse. Their actions left permanent marks, scars etched into the fabric of time itself.

Even Faust, in his relentless pursuit of vengeance, left behind a subtle legacy. Though it lacked a defined purpose, the effects of his choices carried weight, shaping the world in ways he may never have foreseen.

His legacy may have turned out to be far more destructive than the very threat he sought to prevent.

Yet, he wouldn't be alive to witness it.

And that legacy was Merciless himself.

That's the power of sin users, they leave an indelible mark on the universe, and the world around them. Even their tiniest wrongdoing can ripple outward, influencing the lives of many and altering destinies in ways that are often beyond comprehension.

Sin users inevitably become legends, but not in the heroic sense. They're notorious figures, recorded in dark annals of history as iconic evils, forever changing the world around them. Their actions are so significant that they create fixed points in reality, unable to be erased or altered through normal means.

Only Lady Aeon, Outer Dreamsn, and her master, who transcends her power, possess the ability to reshape these enduring legacies woven into the very essence of existence.

Thinking about it like that, it puts a large smile on Merciless's face, as he said to himself.

"One day, Merciless... one day, you shall rise to erase the gods, etching your triumph into the annals of time. Hehehe... Pride and Vanity, are my essence, and I embrace them fully. Today, I proclaim this truth: I and I alone stand as the Profane."

After those words were said, Merciless descended through the sky into the regions below, two figures came into view: a Michellian vampire, and the lowest class of noble for a rouge Naga vampire... reading the truth, Merciless found out that she was a hired fang.

The Clan known as Clan Naga originally split from Clan Psychomesian and is known for its troubled delinquents. They possess incredible physical abilities, including exceptional strength, speed, and flexibility, along with a strong spiritual affinity that enables them to form contracts with spiritual beings.

These troublesome clans share similarities with wereones; they find solace in the natural world and anything connected to it. However, Clan Naga is divided into two factions: the Rogues, often seen as the clan's bloodhounds, are driven by a savage nature and a thirst for violence.

These Rogues, or the first half of the sociopathic offshoot of the two factions possess remarkable physical prowess, but little affinity for spirit arts. In contrast, the Ethical faction is the opposite of the Rouges, they are manipulative and psychopathic, characterized by their stronger affinity with spirits and nature, but lack the insane physical prowess of a typical Rogue of their clan would have.

But on the other hand, as things are right now... Kiara, the Naga... stands no chance against the likes of Merciless in his current state.

As he approached quickly, the two vampires spotted Merciless. Panic flickered across the Naga's face, understandably so, as she watched Merciless crash to the ground where they were stationed.

*BOOOOOOOOOM!!!*

"That was quite the rough landing."

Merciless muttered to himself.

"I really need to get a better handle on these new wings. They seem to have a mind of their own, pushing me forward, but it looks like they're still getting used to flying too; without me aiding them.... agh... either way... let's see what we have here."

Merciless opened his eyes, the smoke swirling around him as he stepped forward, revealing his neon blue claws and bare feet—he wore no shoes as if such things were beneath him. His towering figure cast a long shadow on the ground below, and the Naga looked up at him, a troubled expression crossing her face as she could feel his immense power.

"Shit....

She said... her form shaking, as she slowly backed away, her grip firm on Lia, holding her up by the hair.

Merciless remained motionless, his gaze fixed on the woman before him, showing no hint of interest. Her power was decent, but ultimately forgettable. With an indifferent glare, he expressed his annoyance.

Kiara didn't even register as a threat in his mind. He simply thought...

'Begone.'

At his command, a flash of neon blue light erupted in the environment and quickly faded, and Kiara vanished into thin air as if she was randomly warped to somewhere else against her will.

Lia fell to the ground, and as she did, Kiara's pink constructs disintegrated, marking her swift demise. A notification appeared before Merciless.

[You have eliminated another opponent. Congratulations, you earned 648 points.]

On the other hand, Merciless felt a sense of satisfaction as he tapped into his advanced Aether manipulation abilities, an evolved version of his Aether manipulation that integrated his memories.

This new unique add-on allowed him to teleport anyone he had seen at least once, within the range of his gaze of course to any location he was familiar with; meaning he had to have memories of the place beforehand.

Naturally regardless of the distance between them, whether it was in the same universe or a completely different one. The only requirement was that he had to have a strong enough advantage over them in terms of overall power to make the teleportation possible, to begin with in this case kiara was nothing more than germs in Merciless eyes.

In this case, he sent Kiara to UC-58384, an ultra sun.

One of the strongest celestial constructs in the universe.

According to Merciless's memories, particularly those from Jordan and Albedo, ultra suns are extraordinary celestial entities that surpass ordinary stars to an unfathomable extent.

Often reaching sizes comparable to entire legions of galaxies at their smallest.

These gigantic stars have the ability to absorb cosmic energy, enabling them to grow brighter and larger without limit. Some ultra suns are so immense that they make entire clusters of galaxies appear tiny in comparison.

Like comparing an ant to a vast ocean.

When an ultra sun goes supernova meaning the core at the center reaches its limit, given no Ultra sun core is the same; they all have a capacity, and once reached, the explosion they generate can be cataclysmic, leading to the creation of a dead zone—an area in space completely void of stars and galaxies for many light years.

So far the largest dead zone ever found stretches across a vast distance, measuring up to 674,975,384,181,094 light-years across, making it one of the largest voids ever discovered in the universe as a result of an Ultra sun.

This size is sufficient to hold medium-sized universal regions within the universe.

These domains, referred to as universal regions, are distinct territories ruled by powerful celestial nobles, all functioning under the authority of the White Line. This hierarchy is overseen by the twelve Star Lords; also called the twelve great families of the universal government, who themselves serve the primordial leaders; known as the 4 Prime Stars.

Beings that are akin to Eos and Michelle in layman's terms.

However, the area where Merciless and the others from Hellmora reside is classified as an unconquerable region. This designation given to them means that Merciless universal region is a part of the shared universe that is inhabited by exceptionally powerful beings capable of erasing entire universes, henceforth posing an immense threat to the universal government rendering them as a Class: Noir.

The highest threat classification for an unconquerable universal region, given class Noir indicates a universe containing beings with incredible ability to challenge the entire universal government. This government consists of various alien races unified under a single system, blending monarchical rule with a structured governmental body to maintain order.

To date, the universal government has only managed to conquer about 15% of the ever-expanding universe. This figure is likely to drop back to 14% soon, as every universe in existence is infinitely large, yet the zones where life has originated continue to expand. Thus, while life is finite within each universe, the endless expansion of these life zones can never fully fill the infinite universe space that contains the ever-expanding universe.

But that alone should explain just how powerful Ultra Suns are.

Although another thing to also note is that ultra suns are incredibly rare and their formation processes to this day remain a mystery, their immense gravitational forces and radiant energies are powerful enough to annihilate even level 6 vampires and cause significant harm to those at level 7.

And if an Ultra sun can grow larger than galaxies, and multiple galactic clusters, it might not be too far-fetched for them to grow to the size of universal region, and if so that alone could kill a level 7 vampire.

Meanwhile, Merciless's thoughts shifted back to the stunned Lia as he approached the Michellian. He could feel Kiara's many soul's entering Endgard upon her death as he took slow, deliberate steps toward Lia.

And when he finally reached the trembling Lia, he spoke.

His voice was soft yet commanding, revealing no emotion on his face, only a serious look in his eyes as he gazed down at the frightened Michellian.

"Lia Hoflas... granddaughter of Murphy, I presume?"
