Unveil Her Secret Identities -
Chapter 431 Gu Yansi: I know _1
Chapter 431: 431 Gu Yansi: I know _1
He knew, he knew from the start, yet he bore no feelings for these two people standing before him. The only parents he recognized in his heart were Wen Wanyu and the elder Gu.
"You knew?"
Yao Meishu looked at Gu Yansi with slight surprise.
Curious as to why he was so indifferent when he knew about it.
Shouldn’t he be happy to see his biological parents?
"I’ve known from the beginning."
Gu Yansi spoke with surprising indifference, with no trace of emotion in his words.
He had known from the start, but it doesn’t mean he had to be enthusiastic. Without feelings, there’d be no enthusiasm.
"So you don’t want to acknowledge us?"
Yao Meishu suddenly looked hurt, biting her lip slightly as she looked at Gu Yansi and asked.
Lu Yao stood aside without saying a word.
"No."
Gu Yansi answered decisively. Without Yao Meishu or Lu Yao, he was still doing well, especially doted on by Wen Wanyu.
He simply didn’t want to, an emotion Gu Yansi felt no need to conceal. He had done fine all these years without Yao Meishu and Lu Yao, and he didn’t need them around in the future either.
"You...Now that you live in a wealthy family, do you look down on us lower-class folks?"
Yao Meishu took a deep breath before looking at Gu Yansi, her tone somewhat resentful.
Coming from a high-profile background, Gu Yansi had been Wen Wanyu’s son for such a long time, he must hold a pretty high status in the Wen family, right?
Gu Yansi replied, "No."
He didn’t look down on Lu Yao and Yao Meishu. To him, it just didn’t matter whether or not he acknowledged their parent-child relationship, since he felt no familial bonds with them.
Lu Yao and Yao Meishu still have their son, Lu Jiahao, but once he left Wen Wanyu, she’d only have the elder Gu, for neither had ever desired other children.
Even though Gu Yansi knew they hadn’t necessarily intended not to have children, they’ve been genuinely good to him, and he could never leave them.
"The Wen family may be great, but it has never been your home," Lu Yao finally spoke. In those large families, blood ties were highly valued. Gu Yansi would never inherit the Wen Family, regardless of his current standing.
Gu Yansi raised his eyebrows, "The Wen family?"
"My mom isn’t from the Wen family."
Gu Yansi slightly tilted his lips as he spoke. Wen Wanyu might have been born into the Wen family, but she had long left it.
"Of course your mom is not part of the Wen family."
Yao Meishu replied. After all, she was Gu Yansi’s biological mother and she didn’t carry the last name Wen.
"My mom is Wen Wanyu," Gu Yansi emphasised, his voice chilling.
"You..."
Yao Meishu looked pained. She was Gu Yansi’s biological mother. His words sent a sharp pain through her heart.
"She left the Wen family a long time ago. I have a class to attend, I should get going."
With that, Gu Yansi turned and left, not a trace of reluctance in his manner.
Wen Wanyu was no longer a daughter of the Wen family, she wasn’t part of it anymore. Now, she was just Wen Wanyu.
"Stay where you are!"
Gu Yansi was stopped by Yao Meishu, who held in her breath. Gu Yansi’s attitude irritated her greatly.
Gu Yansi halted, saying, "Don’t look for me again."
He paused for a moment before continuing to walk away.
Yao Meishu and Lu Yao were left in the dust. Yao Meishu clenched her fists tightly, feeling a deep sense of unwillingness. She had come to find him, yet how could he be so unappreciative?
–
After meeting Yao Meishu and Lu Yao, Gu Yansi quickly headed off to meet Hardrick. There was something he needed to deal with at Hardrick’s.
He was grateful to Lu Qingyi because it was thanks to her that he could rush between Beijing University and Hardrick’s.
"Bro, it’s not the weekend, why are you here?"
Just as Gu Yansi stepped into Hardrick’s, he chanced upon Lu Jiahao, who was holding a basketball.
Dressed in sportswear with beads of sweat on his forehead, a basketball in hand, Lu Jiahao broke into a smile seeing Gu Yansi.
Lu Jiahao was a sunny boy, bright and lively.
"There’s something I need to take care of."
Gu Yansi nodded at Lu Jiahao, speaking to him.
The two got along quite well. Lu Jiahao would call Gu Yansi his elder brother and they had a strong bond as brothers.
"Alright, you go ahead. I need to go play basketball."
Lu Jiahao nodded as he spoke.
Even though they were brothers, they had different interests. Lu Jiahao was into sports, whereas Gu Yansi had a deep interest in medicine.
"Wait up."
Gu Yansi held Lu Jiahao back.
"What is it?"
Lu Jiahao turned around puzzled, not understanding why Gu Yansi had suddenly stopped him.
"I met your parents."
Gu Yansi paused before he said. He purposely said "your parents" instead of "our parents," making it clear that he did not accept Yao Meishu and Lu Yao as his biological parents.
"Have they come to Kyoto?"
Lu Jiahao looked surprised. Yao Meishu and Lu Yao didn’t tell him about it. He didn’t expect Yao Meishu and Lu Yao to come to Kyoto.
The purpose of Yao Meishu and Lu Yao’s visit to Kyoto was quite clear. Gu Yansi refused to acknowledge it and Lu Jiahao didn’t have the words to explain it either.
After all, at times, he himself believed his parents had overstepped a lot of boundaries and he was pretty dissatisfied himself.
"Yes, they came to look for me at Beijing University."
Gu Yansi nodded lightly.
"What did they say?"
Lu Jiahao quickly asked. At times, he himself found some of Yao Meishu’s ideas problematic. Perhaps some of Lu Jiayue’s quirks stemmed from Yao Meishu’s influence.
"It’s a minor incident."
Gu Yansi didn’t intend to share what Yao Meishu and Lu Yao said, to him, all these were trivial matters and he didn’t care about them.
"Don’t bother with them, what you think is what matters and I will support you."
Lu Jiahao drew closer to Gu Yansi, patting him gently on the shoulder before saying these words.
No matter what Gu Yansi decided, he would support him. If Gu Yansi didn’t want to acknowledge Yao Meishu and Lu Yao, he wouldn’t force Gu Yansi to, nor would he fall out with him over this issue.
"Uh-huh."
Gu Yansi nodded.
"Does my sister know about this?"
Lu Jiahao asked, referring to his sister Lu Qingyi, not Lu Jiayue.
"No, I didn’t tell her."
Gu Yansi shook his head, he hadn’t told Lu Qingyi about this and wasn’t sure whether she was aware of it.
Lu Qingyi was always well-informed, and Gu Yansi didn’t know whether Lu Qingyi knew that Yao Meishu and Lu Yao had come to Kyoto.
