Universe Infinite Canteen
Chapter 784 - 784: Setting Sail

Flush your Pee scratched the back of his thigh. "You know I love joining random groups, right? I heard about your plan to save the Multiverse from a small group and wanted to pitch in. So I came over. Took me a few days walking along the highway to finally get to City B."

"Hmm, I'm glad you're here, but the enemy we're facing this time is really dangerous," Ma Lu said.

"I know, but I'm a bear, so I should be able to help a little, right?"

Flush your Pee flexed his biceps. "Take me along! You've seen movies, every world-saving team needs a small animal."

"You mean that raccoon from Avengers 4? But you're not exactly a small animal."

"Well, same difference."

Flush your Pee winked. "Please? The female bear I'm living with recently went into heat, and I need somewhere to hide."

"Alright, there's space on the ship. If you want to join, then join," Ma Lu hesitated briefly but eventually agreed to his request.

"Awesome." Flush your Pee beamed and patted Ma Lu's shoulder with his furry hand. "Once I'm on board, I promise to follow the organization's orders."

......

As agreed, everyone participating in the mission arrived at the villa by 11:40 p.m. sharp.

Ma Lu did a headcount to ensure no one was left behind. Then, he pulled a seal pendant out of his pocket—this was the key to the Pink Whale Ship.

The spaceship's teleportation device had already been repaired by Yan Wu. Now, as long as you held down the seal's tail, you could teleport directly into the ship's cabin.

Ma Lu was about to activate it when, out of nowhere, the doorbell rang.

He planned to ignore it and pretend no one was home, hoping whoever was outside would leave on their own. But the doorbell kept ringing, one press after another, with no sign of stopping.

"You might as well check it—it could be something important, like a delivery," Mr. Furball suggested.

"But I haven't bought anything online these past few days," Ma Lu replied, though he pocketed the pendant and walked to the front door. "Wait here, everyone. I'll deal with whoever's at the door, and then we'll leave."

To his surprise, when Ma Lu opened the door, the person standing outside was Angie.

"Huh?"

"Finally, you opened the door!" The celebrity nudged her oversized sunglasses further up her nose. In her other hand, she held a black plastic bag, her demeanor shifty. Before Ma Lu could say a word, she stepped inside.

As she walked, she cheerfully commented, "I heard you closed the shop—taking a break once in a while is a good idea! Oh, and I bought a few sets of vintage Chinese costumes. How about some role-playing fun, hehe…"

She stopped mid-sentence, eyes fixating on the living room packed with people, her expression frozen.

"Uh, I've got some… stuff going on right now. After I'm done, I'll come find you," Ma Lu calmly closed the door. "Then we can play role-playing games."

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! Why are there so many people in your home?!" Angie screamed, on the brink of a meltdown.

Recalling her bold suggestions moments earlier, the actress wished she could dig a hole and crawl into it.

"I can pretend I didn't hear anything," Mr. Furball offered, raising his paw.

"Shhh, you're not supposed to speak in front of ordinary people," Flush your Pee gestured for silence.

"Wait, what?! Talking cats and black bears?!" Angie's pupils contracted in shock. "How many secrets have you been keeping from me?!"

"Well, it's… a long story," Ma Lu began. "I was planning to come clean after finishing this mission."

"You better explain it now," Angie demanded, her expression serious.

"Alright, I'll keep it short. The world is about to end."

"???"

"I'm preparing to stop the apocalypse—with them." Ma Lu gestured toward the group in the living room.

"Or maybe we're just heading out to get ourselves killed," Mr. Furball quipped. "Honestly, I think that's the likelier scenario."

"The apocalypse? You mean zombies, like in the movies?"

"No, it's something scarier than zombies," Ma Lu replied.

"And you're supposed to save the world with this group?" Angie looked around skeptically.

"Actually, there are two more people—they're already on the ship. But yeah, more or less, it's just us," Ma Lu said.

"Why not notify the authorities?"

"Because the authorities can't handle it. That's why I had to step in," Ma Lu sighed. "Otherwise, why would a restaurant owner, even one with too much free time, bother trying to save the world?"

Angie spent half a minute internalizing the news before speaking again.

"I'm going with you!"

"This isn't a concert tour—it's a battle," Ma Lu said.

"What, you think singers can't fight?"

"I didn't mean that. It's just—this isn't child's play. Also, don't you have a fully booked schedule for the next two months?"

"Who cares about a schedule when the world is ending?!" Angie retorted. "I've had enough of this life anyway! Besides, saving the world is obviously more important than doing media tours."

"Fair point, but the problem is… you'd be pretty useless," Ma Lu mumbled.

"Who says I'd be useless?" Angie challenged. "Give me a gun—I can fight! I trained in shooting for a movie once, and my coach even said I have a talent for it."

"This enemy isn't something brute force can handle."

"Which means you need me even more! Having someone to help strategize can make a big difference," Angie argued.

Ma Lu glanced at Flush your Pee and Mr. Furball, thinking he'd already brought along two members who didn't seem like they'd contribute much. Adding another wouldn't make much of a difference.

But with this lineup, he couldn't help feeling the odds of saving the world were even lower.

Still, like the night before a thesis defense, it didn't matter how outrageous his "final draft" looked; he'd just have to go for it.

"Fine, but stay on the ship the whole time. Also…"

"What else?"

"Bring those new costumes you just bought."

Ma Lu had everyone gather within a 10m x 10m area around him before activating the pendant.

A bright white light enveloped them, instinctively causing them to close their eyes. When they opened them again, the villa was gone.

Instead, they found themselves in a room with long, curved glass windows. Angie took a few steps, realizing her footsteps felt light.

She turned to look outside the windows, but all she saw was infinite darkness.

"Where are we now?"

"The Moon," Ma Lu replied. "More specifically, at the bottom of a lunar crater. From here, we'll head to Trading Port 1337 on the other Plane to retrieve another engine, then proceed to Plane 8287 where we'll take down the Skulder."

"You OWN a spaceship—and it's parked on the Moon?!" Angie's eyes enlarged, filled with disbelief.
