Her plan was simple: take the lord’s crystal and use its energy to make a breakthrough into the Ascension rank.

Her strength didn’t give her the luxury to get the crystal, and she could only bet on the playful nature of the fallen to try to get the crystal.

Although it hurt her pride, she had promised her lord to cherish her life as much as she cherishes his. So for pride, she couldn’t give up her life.

"What if I am?"

Stella stated as she raised her sword, slicing at the tentacle that sprouted from the ground in front of her.

The tentacles chased, but it was too slow to attack her, so as she flew, tentacles like veins flew from the ground, reaching the ceiling.

A forest of flesh and eyes was created behind her as her hand reached toward the next crystal, her future sight warned, as she could see the fallen attacking her from behind.

So she turned back as she looked at the tentacles that were approaching her. From the corner of her eyes, she saw the pupil of one of the eyes in the tentacle turning gold before disappearing.

In its place, the fallen appeared with a smile as she quickly backed away, dodging the kick from the fallen.

"Pity."

The fallen muttered as it picked up the crystal and gulped it down, he smiled at Stella but Stella showed no reaction and continued toward the next crystal.

Such a scene repeated itself the third time, as even after knowing the trick of the Fallen’s teleportation, Stella simply couldn’t do anything due to the Fallen’s overwhelming power.

He gulped down the crystal one more and waited for Stella’s reaction, but to his dismay, the only reaction he got was the same cold face as always.

It made him feel bored as he just watched Stella rush toward the next crystal without doing anything.

Stella reached the fourth crystal, and this time, the fallen didn’t come to stop her as she picked it up.

Stella muttered in her heart as she looked at the fallen in the distance. Her plan to get the crystal had worked; it worked even better than she had thought it would.

She had guessed that if she didn’t show any reaction to the fallen’s action, the fallen might let her have the crystal just for the fun of it.

Although it was a gamble, it did have a high chance of payoff, and her gamble paid up.

She had thought that she would have to wait till the tenth crystal before the fallen got bored enough, but she got the crystal just in four attempts.

Not wasting this chance, she started to absorb the energy in the crystal as her third chain of ascension started to loosen.

She had already opened her first two chains, so the third chain was quickly broken as her ascension ceremony began.

Intense light burst from her body as she rose into the sky. The abomination wanted to attack her, but the cocoon of energy around her blocked its attempt.

The fallen may have enough strength to break the cocoon, but he didn’t do so and just watched with interest.

"I wonder what her expression would be after losing, even after her ascension."
