"I got this message at the house today." Lin Yan said as she passed her phone to Lin An.

Lin An took her phone and said "It’s from an unknown number. Don’t worry about it, I will take of it."

Lin Yan looked at her brother and asked "You know who sent me this, don’t you? That day, you knew someone saw us, why didn’t you tell me?"

"Because it was fun. Remember Zi Xia, the little girl who would always cry at the smallest of things."

"The girl who followed you around claiming that she was your wife? Was she the one who saw us?" Lin Yan asked.

Lin An simply nodded and said "Everything started a year after you were married to Li Jun. I met her again and she wanted me to be her lover or else she would tell the truth to Li Jun and ruin your marriage."

"Did you really become her lover? Why didn’t you tell me this? You know she has been obsessed with you since we were kids, how could you hide this from me."

Lin An laughed softly and said "You look cute when you are worried."

"Lin An, I’m being serious right now."

"Zi Xia is currently married to Ji Gua and therefore isn’t so easy to take care of."

"Ji Gua? You mean the owner of Ji construction, but shouldn’t he be like twice her age?"

"He is. She married him for the money of course. Zi Xia was once his secretary before she became his wife, she seduced him and made him to divorce his wife but Ji Gua love her so much that no one could do anything about her."

"But I am Shen Yi now, why would she send me that message?"

"Because she thinks I’m having an affair with you."

"What?"

"She must have had people to watch me and due to your frequent visit, am sure she thinks that you are my lover. That message was a warning, that I am not what you think I am and if you refused to listen to that warning then she would tell Li Lingyun that his wife is having an affair with me."

"Tell me you have a plan to get rid of her." Lin Yan said.

Lin An was quiet for a few seconds before saying "I won’t be the one getting rid of her, Ji Gua ex wife will be the one getting rid of the woman who stole her position from her.

After a few moments, Lin Yan asked "Did you sleep with her?"

"Of course not. Even the mere sight of her disgust me, I wanted to at first just for the fun of it, but I just couldn’t bring myself to it."

"Then why did you say it was fun. I thought you were sleeping with her."

"I will never sleep with a woman who threatened to ruined my sister’s life, it will never happen. I say it’s fun because, she thinks she has control over me, she thinks I can’t do anything to her because she is the wife if Ji Gua however...."

"You are using her." Lin Yan completed.

Lin An nodded and said "Don’t worry about anything, When she is no longer of use to me, I will ruined her and take away everything that is precious to her." Lin An carress Lin Yan hair and continued "As long as your brother is here you don’t need to worry about anything, I will never allow anyone to harm you."

Lin Yan smiled and hugged him tightly as she whispered "I love you brother An."

"I love you too. Now tell me, what happened to Wang Hua?" Lin An said as he pulled his sister out of his embrace.

"Grandpa kicked her out of the house. But Li Lingyun behavior has been bothering me."

"What happened with him?"

"He knew Li Xiao was lying when she pointed at Wang Hua as the one who gave her the knife but he didn’t say anything, infact he even asked grandpa to chose between him and Wang Hua."

"Perhaps he wanted the family to not see Li Xiao as a liar."

"I thought of that too. I think you are right but you know that Li Lingyun won’t forgive you right. You might not see Li Xiao again."

Lin An laughed and said "I will talk to Li Lingyun. I have taken a liking to Li Xiao, I plan to be close to her."

"After everything I have done for that old man, he just decided to throw me away like that, I refuse to give up without making them pay." Wang Hua said as she pace round with anger.

Li Jun who had decided to bring his mother to his house said "Calm down. I’m sure grandpa decision is a temporary one."

"It doesn’t matter if it is temporary or not. What matters is that I was humiliated in front of the family just because of that little brat." Wang Hua stop her pacing and looked at her son as she asked "Is Shen Yi really having an affair with Lin An?"

"I’m not hundred percent sure but it is a suspicion. "

"Then why don’t we prove it. If we prove that both Shen Yi and Lin An is having an affair then finally we will be able to get rid of that woman."

"You are right mother. I will surely prove Shen Yi affair with Lin An."

Lin Yan was welcome with the sight of Li Lingyun drinking in the kitchen counter as she entered the house.

"Is Li Xiao asleep in her room?" Lin Yan asked. After what happened at the Li mansion, Li Lingyun took Li Xiao back to Sun Villa.

"Why ask, when you don’t really care." Li Lingyun replied.

"Of course I care about Li Xiao."

"You care about her? If you did then you wouldn’t have allowed your brother to mess with her head." Li Lingyun said as he slammed his glass on the table.

"I only allowed Lin An to speak to her because I knew he could calm her down."

"Calm her down? By teaching her how to lie or by telling her that it is alright for her to stabbed her own classmate?"

"Lin An never wanted her to kill anyone."

"Listen to yourself Lin Yan. You defend him as if he hasn’t done anything wrong."

"I know he was wrong. He should never have given that knife to Li Xiao but all he wanted to do was just to ensure that Li Xiao wouldn’t be a pushover who can be bullied at anytime."

"He is sick. Only someone who is sick in the head would advice a child to stab her class mate. Just what happened to you and Lin An when you were kids? Was it watching your mother committing sucide? Or was it something else?"

Lin Yan widened her eyes as she asked "You investigated me?"

"Yes I did. I wanted to know just what was it between the two of you. Lin An could kill someone in your present but you will still find an excuse to defend him, why is that?"

"Lin An is my brother. It is only normal I defend him."

Li Lingyun stared at Lin Yan for a few seconds before asking "Then tell me this, was my daughter a part of your revenge plan in ousting Wang Hua."

"I will never hurt Li Xiao."

"You and your brother has already hurt her. Do you have any idea the gravity of the situation? Because of Li Xiao a little girl will never be able to achieve her dream of being a pianist and you say you will never hurt her?" Li Lingyun took in a deep breath before asking "Are your feelings for me even real?"

"Lingyun."

"You know what? I don’t want to know. But please, stay away from my daughter. She already had a mother who didn’t want her, she doesn’t need another one who only wish to use her."

Lin Yan felt empty as she saw as Li Lingyun pass her and walked out of the door.

Lin Yan walked back to her room and opened her wardrobe. All the clothes she bought for him were still there, properly folded. She opened her drawer and saw the watch she was planning to give him but has never gotten the chance to.

How could he ask her if her feelings were real? Tears involuntary came out of Lin Yan eyes. To her nobody could ever understand her relationship with Lin An. The truth was, it wasn’t Lin An who was sick, it was actually her. Every crazy thing Lin An has ever done has been just for her, he is either always protecting her or cleaning up her mess. If not for Lin An, she would have lost her mind years ago.

To Lin Yan, no one could understand that her relationship with Lin An was not just an ordinary siblings relationship. If one were to define their relationship, it wouldn’t be as siblings but as each other’s life force.
